Lowcountry Paradise, private gated island, 2.5 miles of beach, family friendly


Saltmarsh Serenity is located on Harbor Island, a gated community just outside of Beaufort, SC that features 2.5 miles of private beach.

The home backs up to the coastal marsh in a quiet and secluded part of the island, but is only minutes to the beach access points by golf cart.

There are 4 bedrooms, each with spacious closets. Three of the bedrooms feature king-sized beds with memory foam mattresses and pillows. The fourth bedroom is designed with kids in mind and features 2, twin-over-twin bunk beds.

The bathrooms both have shower-tub combos and a linen closet stocked with luxury bath towels and bath sheets. In each bathroom you will find a hairdryer so you don't have to take up valuable suitcase space.

The kitchen is stocked with everything needed to prepare your favorite meals, which can be enjoyed at the kitchen table or on the screened-in porch, overlooking the marsh.

Enjoy all of the amenities the island has to offer using the included golf carts.

Rental also includes a pass to enjoy local favorite, Hunting Island State Park.

Harbor Island is close enough the enjoy visiting Historic Downtown Beaufort, nearby Port Royal and Paris Island Marine Corps Base. It also allows for day trips to both Savannah and Charleston.

Rates include parking fee for one vehicle. Renter is responsible for 11% SC Vacation and Lodging Tax.

The location was perfect and the neighborhood was perfect for walks. We enjoyed Hunting Island, their nature center, trails, marsh boardwalk, lighthouse and beaches. Being a pet friendly property we were also able to bring our two dogs.

Great spot for a quiet beach getaway! This property is located in a gated community with wonderful ammenities that you can get to using the golf carts provided. Will definitely consider this spot again for future trips!

Great location to unwind, pet friendly, golf carts were a wonderful touch to be able to explore the island. The screened in porch was lovely to watch the sunsets at night. Communication with owners was excellent. Only criticism I would give would be the cleanliness. Needs a good deep cleaning and desperately needs brighter lighting in the kitchen.

Propery was as described. We stayed for a marine graduation. Property was about 25 minutes from Parris Island. Plenty of utensils and dishes. 2 golf carts were a nice touch for a larger party. Quiet community. Host is quick to respond.

We stayed here while attending our grandson’s Marine Corps graduation at Parris Island, and it was a great choice for our family. The home was clean, comfortable, and gave us a relaxing place to come back to after long and memorable days on base.The location worked very well for getting to and from Parris Island, and having a house where our family could spend time together made the trip even more special. The pool was a nice addition, and the community facilities were clean and well maintained. We also appreciated the visible security presence on site, which made us feel comfortable and relaxed throughout our stay.Everything was easy from arrival through checkout. We would absolutely recommend this home to other Marine families coming to Parris Island for Family Day and graduation. It helped make an already special weekend even better.

Amazing Family Vacation

We loved our stay here! We enjoyed the neighborhood vibe with families and golf carts with the beach accessible with the golf carts. The house was amazing for family of 8. We plan to return annually!

Great stay

This is a great house-clean, had everything we needed for our stay. The bedrooms were comfortable and fit our family very well! Loved we were able to bring our dogs with us! The golf carts were great to get back and forth to the beach!

Great Property for Family

This beautiful house was way bigger than the photos showed! Pleasantly surprised with size of bedrooms and loved the king size beds! Set in a beautiful place on the marsh with great back porch views. Having 2 golf carts was great for all of us to go to beach with all of our gear! Our 2 small dogs loved the views as well and it was so peaceful and quiet!

Family Getaway

Two families with lots of little kids really enjoyed our stay. The two golf carts made getting around the island a breeze. The beach, the pool, and the wildlife were thoroughly enjoyed. The house had everything we needed and laid out well. Would recommend to others looking for a relaxing stay.

Wonderful vacation house

My family really enjoyed the fact that house was in a gated community with amenities that you could get to using the golf carts. Everything was supplied for us we only had to buy food. Restaurants and stores were easy to get to.

Quiet and peaceful

Beautiful place on a Harbor Island. The house has everything one needs, is very clean, beautiful balcony/deck> very useful to have golf cart to zoom around the island. Would love to return again.
