True to its name, this home is A Dream Come True! You'll love what this home has to offer. From the private pool to the screened porch, this home is loaded with extras to keep you entertained during your beach vacation. WiFi is available for the occasional work related task, but the outdoor recreation areas will keep you coming back to Whalehead Beach year after year for some R&R!

Ground Level: This level sports the rec room including a pool table, foosball table, TV/DVD, CD/Stereo, and kitchenette with a full size fridge and dishwasher. You'll also find a bedroom with a TV that shares a full bath with the rec room. Step outside, and you can take a dip in your own private pool.

Mid Level: Here you will find 2 King main bedrooms, each with a TV. There is also a room that offers 2 Double beds, a TV, and a shared bath with another room sporting a DuoBunk and Trundle, and a TV.

Top Level: The top level features the great room that offers a TV/DVD, CD/Stereo, and a gas fireplace. Just off the great room is the kitchen and dining area. The dining area seats 10, with 4 additional seats at the kitchen bar. Step up a bit and enjoy the ship's watch, or step outside to the large screened porch, the perfect place for those family seafood feasts! Rounding out this level is a half bath off the great room, a lovely King main bedroom, and a rooftop crow's nest deck for taking in the views!

For January and February bookings, please contact the property management company to ensure the hot tub is available.
This property is managed by Vacasa North Carolina LLC
Active surveillance cameras are located inside & outside of the home and will be turned off during your stay.
You will be required to sign an additional lease agreement upon making a booking which will be sent to your email. You will not be able to check in until we have received your signature electronically.
Fireplaces are available from November 1st through April 1st.
Private Pool Dates: The private pool is open May 1st through October 15th. The private pool is unavailable outside of these dates.

Parking notes: There is free parking available for 4 vehicles.

Due to local laws or HOA requirements, guests must be at least 25 years of age to book. Guests under 25 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the duration of the reservation.

Beautiful beach house vacation!

This is a beautiful house, in a great area and we could not have asked for more. Very clean, well kept, nice furnishings and such an amazing yard and gameroom! The Whalehead neighborhood was great and we plan on coming back again and again, thank you!

LOVE LOVE LOVE 💕

House is fabulous. Clean and tastefully decorated. Walk to the beach so much easier with the boardwalk nearby. Kitchen stocked and pool was heavenly. Only negative was Vacasa was messaged several times about missing towels and we never did receive them, though that was no fault of the owner. Thank you for sharing your beautiful house with us😀

House is in a great location. Plenty of space for the entire family and then some. My only complaint would be the cleaning company who “cleans” and changes the bedding in between reservations. The house looked like it was never vacuumed and the sheets that were put back on the bed looked dirty as well as firstly towels were left on hooks and in the laundry basket.

Great house, needs better cleaning!

Close to the ocean and shopping. Great pool and lots of room. But was very upsetting to walk into a home we were told was clean, only to find dirty showers, sheets, and toilets

Great for Multi Family Group!

Big, beautiful house with lots of space for our group of 12 (3 families of 4). Proximity to the beach was perfect: 5 min walk to the nearest beach; 10 min walk to life guarded beach. Steep steps to access the beach, so it can be difficult with a wagon, but we managed. Pool was a great size and well maintained. Excellent location in OBX – just a short drive (or bike ride) to shops, restaurants, entertainment and historic area. The house has more amenities than listed, which is great, but would have been nice to know so I didn't pack so much. Outside closets are stocked with beach chairs (8-10), a beach wagon, a few boogie boards, a ton of sand toys, and pool toys. Fully stocked kitchen including crock pot, blenders, electric griddles, tons of serving pieces and cookware, and a brand new Keurig. Library of books and a puzzle or two, but no board or party games so bring those. The rooms were all spacious and well decorated, felt very welcoming and homey. The first level was great for the kids. The house could use a new set of pool cues, but still fun for all. When we arrived at 4:00 to check-in the house hadn't been cleaned yet. They arrived around 4:30 and worked around us, but they were short a few sets of sheets. We had to call for more and make a few beds ourselves. The request was handled promptly and the cleaning was adequate. Overall, an excellent experience and great place to spend a week.

Great property for any group.

We had a family vacation with six adults and five kids (7-17). Everyone liked their rooms! The pool was fabulous. The decor was fresh and beachy and we were all comfortable. Your Keurig broke down and we had brought only K-pods for coffee. It took a couple days, but a new Keurig was delivered. The grandparents stayed in the 3rd floor bedroom and suggested installing shower safety handles. We loved that someone took the garbage cans down and back to the street. We were surprised at how long the walk was to the beach, hence the joy of the pool . All in all, a great house with everything we needed!

Wonderful Home

This is probably the nicest beach house we've stayed in. The home is bright and airy. It is definitely the best stocked kitchen we've ever had. The outside spaces (decks and pool) were just as welcoming as the inside. It's an easy five minute walk to the beach. We were a group of 10 and everyone had plenty of space. in their own room and gathering at the table or where ever. The cleaning staff did a wonderful job and there were nice items to help us start our week (soap, paper towels, t.p.). Great beach rental!

OBX stay

Was not happy we could not renew the same week for next year. Beds were not that comfortable but the kitchen was well stocked. Pool was also great. Could not get in the house until almost 4:30 which was unacceptable also

Perfect Stay

Our company came down for a workcation and were amazed with the house upon arrival. There were a ton of bedrooms and four of them had their own bathroom which was perfect for everyone to have their own space. The kitchen and living room area was clean and spacious and had everything we needed. There were decks outside all of the rooms as well as on the entire 3rd floor; even one to the roof! Having a pool and hot tub made staying at the house our first option, even with the beach one block away. It had everything we needed for an enjoyable week and are already looking at doing it again next year.

Family fun for all ages

We met some extended family for a week of fun in the sun! The house was perfect - fit all our needs and the location was just a short walk to the beach. Our party went to and from the beach with ease. The pool was a highlight for the kids - bigger than the pictures show. The two refrigerators in the house were a plus - plenty of room for food and spirits. We would definitely choose this house on our next trip back to the OBX!

Nice house, short walk to the beach

The house was nice, fun deck arrangements, good pool, hot tub on the deck, good grill, pool table and foosball. It was helpful having multiple master bedrooms for our stay. We did have a couple of things malfunction during our stay (hot tub, downstairs A/C) but property management sent people quickly to fix them. Easy access point to the beach, ~3-5 minutes. They also had lots of beach toys available (body boards, sand toys, etc).

Great Family Spot

Our family had a great time. The pool was essential because the beach is a little bit of a walk with little ones. The house is well maintained. The pool people came to clean the pool and hot tub during the week. Fully stocked kitchen with everything you need for large family dinners. The house is in a great location for grocery shopping and souvenir shopping. Plenty of restaurants and activities nearby.

Lovely

The house is lovely, comfortable and the kitchen is well stocked. Although, the owners should check the house really good as we felt housekeeping doesn't do a really good job. Also, we were given phone numbers to call for housekeeping & maintenance but it took 3/4 of our stay to finally reach someone. Issues, the shower curtains were moldy & mildewed. Mirrors & sliding glass doors were dirty. Pool was not vacuumed until we called. Found candy wrappers under cushion of couch. The house has much to offer but issues should be addressed. Also, white chairs by pool are unsturdy. Otherwise we enjoyed the Outerbanks very much. Rented jeeps, loved the beach, shopped and swam in the pool everyday .

A Dream Come True is an amazing house to stay at!! It had everything we could imagine needing!

We had a wonderful week and would recommend it to anyone! This house had everything we needed and more! We enjoyed the pool, grill, pool table, foosball table, all the decks, basketball hoop, and the kitchen had all that we needed! I hope we can come back someday!! Well maintained and provisioned, It was ideal for our family.

We had a small cleaning glitch at the outset which was quickly addressed by the property manager. We had a wide range of ages, but all enjoyed the property. The pool was a big hit and the location vis a vis the beach was convenient. I would recommend the property to anyone for a great vacation spot.

Fantastic Rental

We stayed at 940 Whalehead the last week of June, 2016. It was absolutely great. The owner was extremely responsive to the one small issue we had and she had it rectified in less than 24 hours which is really all you want is if there is an issue, it gets resolved. She did exactly that. The pool is the best pool of any rental house we've had. Many pools are small and cheap simply to be able to show the house has a pool. That was not the case with this pool. It was large compared to the rest and the pool guy even said it was one of the biggest pools he cleans in the ares. We would absolutely rent this house again and this is the first time i've said that about any house i've rented. The huge decks are perfect, the house lays out beautifully, the appliances are relatively new, there is a Keurig as well as a coffee maker.

All girl family vacation

This home was just like the pictures on the website. It was clean and beautiful. This was the first time in the outer banks for a few of us and the house and area were fantastic. We all recommend this house!

Great Home but...

Your home is beautiful and we had a great time...the pool, hot tub, and other home oofferings were fabulous. I might suggest being a little mindful of whomever arranges the cleaning staff... There were some issues I feel where there due to short cuts taken many times over.

Family Fun!

The house was wonderful-Family of 16 enjoyed the pool and hot tub- Kitchen has everything you need. Beach was close enough with a nice walk-way- Grocery store was a short distance and some fun shopping nearby. Gas grill came in handy but I mostly loved being with my family and enjoying such a beautiful home! Sherry

A Dream Come True

The house fit our needs. It was well stocked with kitchen supplies and utensils for cooking. The provided linens, beach, and pool toys were also a welcome addition. Our stay was very enjoyable.

Great place!

This house was wonderful! Very close to the beach access. Very well stocked kitchen with everything you need to cook with. The new gas grill was awesome! Loved everything about the place!

Wonderful Getaway!

We had a lovely time in "A Dream Come True". The house is beautiful and accommodated all who joined us that week. The pool was refreshing and the beach was a short walk away.
