This private home, in a gated mini-compound, is located just outside downtown Asheville & Biltmore Village, with easy access to the Biltmore Estate. The great room, with open floor plan, and fully equipped gourmet kitchen, is where everyone will want to gather to enjoy their time together inside the house, with plenty of space for all. But, if you need some "alone time", there is plenty of space inside and out to find your own serenity. There is a private back patio, shared yard, and a stunning (and very private) rooftop deck with comfortable seating to truly relax and unwind.

Kids love getting out in and around the expansive estate property, and walking trails & explore the other rolling outdoor areas. The expansive patio & deck areas are all around the property. All of these afford additional outdoor space to relax & unwind. While everyone enjoys exploring Asheville, the local parks, outdoor trails & more, you can pull up a chair and take in the view, (the long & short range views are spectacular!!), observe the night as it fills with stars, and watch the fire flies come out to play in your backyard.

Additionally, you are next door to families and others who reside in the neighborhood full-time, have jobs, etc. Parties, loud noise and unruly behavior are absolutely prohibited, and guests are expected to respect the neighbors and the peace this Asheville retreat area affords.

Early Check In and/or Late Check Out may be possible, depending on cleaning schedules and other reservations. If it is possible, there may be an additional fee that would be determined based on the time that you wish to check in or out and the seasonal rates.

PETS: Pets will be considered on a case-by-case basis. There is a $200 per pet non-refundable fee. Please contact us for more information.

Very Modern Maple
We rented Modern Maple for July 2021. The house is new, lovely, and well supplied with bedding, towels, paper towels, detergents, soap, laundry pods, cleaning products, etc. The beds, sofa and chairs were comfortable, and we enjoyed the patio and porch. Unfortunately it was mostly too hot to use the rooftop area, but when we did, the view of the treetops was lovely. Although the neighborhood was more congested than we had expected, it was quiet when we were home and convenient to many parts of Asheville once we got our bearings. It was also lovely to have a garage, because there is a shared driveway. One aspect of the house is especially important for those planning to stay there. Modern Maple is a high tech home. The cooktop has no knobs or traditional burners but works well once you get used to it. Fortunately, we had planned to go out for dinner the first night. I would not have wanted to tackle the cooktop after a long drive. Similarly, the master bedroom shower has a control panel rather than handles. Again, it works well, and each person can moderate the temperature to his or her liking. (There is a traditional tub/shower on the 3rd floor and a lovely soaking tub in the master bath.) The TV only gets streaming channels, not the full range of a normal cable system. Fortunately we could use our Prime Video and Netflix and--after several tries and phone calls--we also learned how to “cast” Yankees baseball games from our iPhone to the TV. The oven, the refrigerator and the microwave all worked the traditional way as did the outside grill, the toaster and the coffee maker. The kitchen table is big enough to seat 8, though when we were there the seating was a hardwood bench that could have used a bit of padding. That will hopefully be provided for the next renters. There were also padded seats along the counter, where we usually ate. Modern Maple is set in a residential neighborhood, and getting to downtown, the Biltmore area, etc requires driving. Still it is within 2-3 miles of nearly every major attraction in Asheville. Given the confusing road system in and around Asheville—2 interstate highways and lots of curvy and hilly 2-lane roads—a GPS is not only helpful but for most people essential. With GPS in hand, you can visit a wide array of urban and natural pleasures.
