4th of July Lakehouse stay

We had a great time. We were a family of 4 with 20 something kids and a few of their friends. We rented the boat twice during our stay and were able to use the tube to go tubing. I used the Kayak's in the morning for exercise. At night we went out on the boat to watch fireworks and swim during the day. Round Lake is a medium sized lake, large enough for boating, but not overcrowed on the holiday. There were cookies, wine and snacks waiting for us there when we checked in. There are extra blow up mattresses in the closets. There are a full set of dishes in the kitchen, sheets, blanket and towels. There are some board games available. There is a good view from the three season room both on the top and bottom floor. 3 bedrooms upstairs, 2 downstairs. One king and 4 queen/full beds. Everything was clean when we arrived. Arrival and exit instructions were clear.

So much potential

The inside of this lake house was clean, beautifully decorated and inviting. The location had a beach and sand volleyball court about 7 houses down. It was perfect for my three generations family trip for my daughter’s graduation. The outside patios and dock were not usable when we arrived. The patio was filthy dirty. The downstairs patio was even dirtier and there were piles of garbage and supplies. The dock was filled with seaweed that needed to be cleared so the boys could be out there. A broken paddle board and kayak filled with dirt and seaweed. We came to the lake to spend just as much time outside and my husband and I spent hours cleaning so we could use the space and the furniture. I sent messages to the owner with no reply. And Saturday the water heater broke. They couldn’t get a plumber there until Sat night. Luckily my husband was able to fix it after spending his whole morning in a closet that was also filled with junk. Got a message back that they issued a $500 credit. And that was it. They would have spent more than that on the plumber. I booked this house because of the reviews and premier host. We made the best of it for our family and had a wonderful time. But it was a stressful weekend for my husband and I. I wasn’t looking for money off, but an acknowledgment from the host that the outside was not summer ready would have been lovely.

Navy Graduation

Our stay was quiet and cozy for our new Navy graduate fresh from bootcamp. It was important to her to have a nice low key stay without a lot of activity surrounding her. We were even able to extend one more day to be able to spend extra time with her.

Relaxed fall stay

Our host, Dan, was extremely helpful when I messed up the entry code. He was there in minutes to let us in. The views are beautiful, the furniture is comfy and the neighborhood was quiet. We saw great blue heron on the dock, swans and geese in the lake. We had a lovely visit.

A lovely house on a lovely lake!

The lake house and lake were exactly as described. Fave activity was floating near the dock on our rafts! We also rented the pontoon which was nice to be able to take a tour around the lake. Thank you!

Family Lake Trip

Lovely home, beautiful views, kind owners! Dan and Tammy offer a winning experience for a lake getaway. The house was welcoming and there was ample room inside and out to enjoy it. We loved kayaking and fishing off the dock, and it was great to have a little beach to walk to just a few houses away. The kitchen was great for cooking in, linens in all of the bedrooms were clean and soft, and plenty of regular and beach towels for all! Lots of little extra touches including cookies, wine, and a s'mores tackle box--and you must try the massage chair! Thank you for a relaxing and much needed family getaway!

Great place to spend with family!

This was a very relaxing vacation with lots of fun things to do. We rented the pontoon boat and tube and had a great time swimming, fishing and tubing on the lake, and we also spent time on the beach and used the kayaks several times as well. All of us took a drive to a nearby beach on Lake Michigan one day and my adult kids went to Chicago to see improv theatre another night. There were 6 adults and 3 kids in our group, and there was plenty of space in the house for all of us. Our host, Daniel, was very responsive to any questions we had, and everyone appreciated the well-stocked kitchen and the freshly baked cookies left for us, as well as other treats!

Lake home

Great accommodations for family. Fully stocked large kitchen. Very comfortable. Disappointed with water condition by pier; had pieces of scrap metal so couldn't let kids or dogs jump in and swim. Beach 3 blocks away was helpful. Beautiful lake views!

INCREDIBLE!

We stayed at this property for my sons Navy boot camp graduation. It is about 25 minutes to base. I cannot express enough how much we enjoyed our stay here. The owner went above and beyond to make our stay the most memorable. This would make a perfect stay for two small families as the upstairs and downstairs can function separately each with their own kitchen. It was December when we stayed here so we couldn’t enjoy the outdoor amenities but I’m sure they would be incredible. Thank you Dan for the wonderful stay. We will be returning.

Wonderful lake views and lots of room!

We had a family Thanksgiving event - picked up multiple folks at O'Hare and gathered that week for time together. The house had plenty of room for 6 adults and 3 children to spread out; great outdoor space even in November with a firepit and 3 season room. We took the kids to Great Wolf waterpark on a day pass and that was so close and easy to access. Would recommend this property for a great family stay!

Couldn't Have Been More Perfect!

We were in town for my son's graduation from Navy bootcamp, and I can't say enough good things about the stay. Everything is top of the line and very comfortable, the view is fantastic, the hosts go above and beyond to welcome you with sweet and personalized surprises to make the stay special (don't want to rob anyone of the unexpected fun), and the owners were incredibly responsive. Everyone was happy and comfortable, and that isn't easy with grandparents and teenagers involved! Hands down the best VRBO experience I've ever had, and I've lost count of how many times I've stayed in a VRBO.

Peaceful getaway

We were in town for my son’s graduation from Navy boot camp. The place was just what he needed! Spacious, clean and updated house with great amenities and a beautiful, peaceful view of the lake. The homemade cookies, Halloween candy, basket of snack and bottle of wine were such thoughtful touches upon arrival. The couch was comfortable and the gas fireplace cozy. We used some games provided that added to a great family weekend. I would highly recommend! We hope to return in the warmer weather to get out on the lake!

Amazing Stay

My family loved this home! My son was graduating for Navy Bootcamp which he received liberty for the weekend…This beautiful home gave us the opportunity to hang together as a family and create many amazing memories. The owner left us freshly made cookies, candies, s’mores set for the fire pit and even a great note welcoming my sailor and even a bottle of wine!!! This home was fully equipped with everything needed ! The beds were comfortable with many pillows and blankets. Many soft towels. Coffee kuirik and even a message chair that messaged your entire body!!! The view was beautiful of the lake with kayaks, paddle boards and stand up boards plus a boat to rent if you wish! A firepit…several decks and a local bar (AJ’s) is 300ft from the house. The owner and bartender were amazing! They have pool tables and karaoke on the weekend! I completely would recommend this home!!! Dan seriously was so accommodating …such a great guy! Thank you for your wonderful home!!!! Such a magical weekend!

Girls Trip

Great house for a girls trip. Massage chair Alice was amazing! Not too much stuff to do in the area but we were able to travel about 20-45 minutes to tons of stuff.

Perfect in many ways!

We enjoyed our stay in this spacious home. It was the perfect layout for a large group. The location was great, plenty of seating in all areas, and the home has upgraded appliances that are easy to use. The property manager was very quick to respond and friendly. We will be back!

Great Family Summer Stay

Dan the owner was very easy to work with, the house is fully equipped with all the modern conveniences a person could ask for and pet friendly! Having a bit of room in the fridge and freezer for guests food and tuning up the grills would give it 6 stars! :D

Lake house for all - even more stunning in person!

What a wonderful getaway! This property is a real gem. Upon arrival, we were breathtaken with this gorgeous and very spacious home, so beautifully decorated and well-kept. Our party of 7 was more than comfortable, and plenty of room to spare with spacious living areas upstairs and downstairs. Welcoming environment complete with fresh cookies, wine, and snack baskets set out for our check in! Kids, adults, and my pup all thoroughly enjoyed this dog-friendly home and felt so welcome to be able to bring our whole family. We didn’t want to leave! The house is comfy, cozy, and homey, with great sound systems and speakers throughout. Exquisite upstairs bathroom featuring a rainfall shower head and misting jets. Lots of board games, 6+ TVs, and 5 beautiful bedrooms, giving everyone ample space and options. We fit in a lot of fun and much-needed relaxation here. The main kitchen is gorgeous, fully stocked and even has a pizza oven! Best massage chair EVER in upper sun room overlooking the lake. We also enjoyed a few bonfires in the lower deck area fire pit (owner even left us wood!). Sunrise and sunset views over the lake were stunning. Being right on the lake was the cherry on top. Had lots of fun with the on-site paddle boat, kayaks, and paddle board. Having the pontoon on site for rental is also a very nice option. Tons of fishing poles and even tackle boxes the owner is so very generous to share. Also loved the seating area halfway down to the dock. I could go on and on about this lovely place, there is so much to enjoy inside and out! As a bonus, there is a beach just a 3 minute walk away, complete with playground, volleyball net, and picnic tables. The owner was very responsive and helpful before and throughout our stay. The hosts really made it a great and unforgettable experience. We hope to visit again next season and would recommend to anyone looking for a wonderful lake house getaway!

Perfect for a family getaway

This house was amazing for a little family reunion! We even rented the boat one day which was a crowd pleaser. It slept 10 and also fit 10 with the furniture and living space. Everyone had a great trip and it was so great being all together.
