Vermilion Miles Away Lodge is a custom log cabin set against a spectacular ledge rock outcropping with 6 acres of wilderness, 380 feet of shoreline, and 40,000 acres of Lake Vermilion to explore! Breathtaking panoramic island studded views await!

The log cabin boasts 2,700 square feet, 3 bedrooms, 3 baths, a huge loft with amazing views overlooking the lake, and a wood burning sauna house complete with a shower, sink, and futon. A short walk through the woods brings you to your own secluded wilderness picnic area and fire pit on a rocky point in Pike Bay. Hang out down on the lake on the amazing platform deck right on the water! Umbrella, hammocks, lounge chairs, two fishing kayaks, and paddleboat included! There is also a ladder on the dock for easy access for swimming right at the dock. It is about 4' deep at the end of the dock with no rocks, great for jumping in and swimming or hooking a lily pad up to the dock and lounging in the water. The lake bottom is slightly muddy at the end of the dock and transitions to sand/gravel about halfway down the dock. Great for hanging out in thigh deep water right off the platform deck with your favorite drink.

The cabin is conveniently located less than 2 miles down the road from Fortune Bay Casino and The Wilderness Golf Course, the #2 ranked public golf course in Minnesota! Many other adventures await including miles of snowmobiling and ATV trails, a 40 minute drive to the Iron Range Off-Highway Vehicle State Recreation Park, a 10 minute drive to the Soudan Mine State Park, a 30 minute drive to Giant's Ridge Golf and Ski Hill, and a 25 minute drive to the beautiful town of Ely! There is a boat launch at Fortune Bay Casino just down the road, as well as ample dock space at the cabin for your boat on calm Pike Bay! The state snowmobile trail is on the lake directly in front of the cabin too!

Winter getaway on Vermillion !

Snowmobile trip layover

While on a snowmobile trip from Canada down into MN we had the good fortune to book a stay at this BEAUTIFUL cabin right on the lake. It was spacious, super clean, warm, comfortable and very well appointed. Nick, the owner, was great to work with and the whole process was as easy as it could be. We’ll definitely be back next year!! …I only wish we would of stayed longer so we could have used the beautiful sauna!

Perfect Getaway

We stayed for a long weekend in the fall, but the property is honestly so well set up for all seasons. Plenty of room and things to do for all ages. Traveled with two kids under 7. Gorgeous lot with lots to explore. Highly recommend!

Beautiful Zup North Getaway

My family and I had such a wonderful time at Nick's family cabin. Fall is such a beautiful time in Ely and the cabin is right on the water and offers a serene and relaxing energy. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed for a week up north. The sauna was fantastic and the perfect way to unwind after fall adventures.

An Extraordinary Lake Vermillion Experience

My family and I had a wonderful time at this cabin. The property and lake had so much to offer and the accommodations were spectacular. The owner was amazing, extremely helpful with any question I had and understanding when we had an issue with a boat rental. I would recommend this experience to anyone looking for their 1st or 50th Lake Vermillion vacation.

Nice property for relaxing weekend on the lake

This property had all the amenities that one would need for a nice relaxing week on the lake. The lake was beautiful and having the lift available made fishing on the lake very easy. I would definitely visit this area again!

Perfect Lake Vermilion Getaway

Nick’s property accommodates everything we look for when spending time together as a family. We loved the open layout to stay connected while preparing or eating meals and for playing games or relaxing at night. We enjoyed lunches on the deck, time around the campfire, daily trips to the sauna, and kayak trips on the lake. Great place to make new memories!

Snowed in

We stayed when a snowstorm hit. We enjoyed the games, puzzles, ping pong, sauna and movies. We were plowed out as soon as it was reasonably done snowing. There were good recommendations available in the info provided. We relaxed and had a great time!

Plenty of slace, amenities on a great location.

Spent New Years weekend with our family. Kids loved the loft area, plenty of space for everyone and kitchen had all the amenities we needed. Great stay!

Views and Comfort

Beautiful cabin with plenty of space for indoor and outdoor entertaining. We had 4 adults and 5 little kids up for Thanksgiving. The views are stunning and the sauna was my favorite part. Property Manager was very helpful and easy to communicate with.

Great family escape

We had a wonderful stay, swimming and lounging by the water, eating good food, and enjoying each other's company! We rarely get this much time together as a family and this was a great place for us to reunite and celebrate my parent's anniversary

Fishing and golfing getaway

This property was very clean and had great views to the lake. There was plenty of deck space and patio space. Nick was great and very easy to work with. Everyone that came up and stayed at this cabin really enjoyed there time. Close to public boat launches, the golf course, and the casino. I defiantly would recommend staying here.

Tremendous Spot with Stunning Views

We thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend stay. The main cabin has all the amenities you could need! The sauna and garage (featuring air hockey, darts and ping pong) was a hit as well! The property was easy to navigate and wonderfully outfitted. The kayaks and water gear was tremendously helpful and in great condition. All in all, if you're thinking of Lake Vermillion for your next stay with a large group, this spot cannot be topped!
