Marathon has terrific restaurants and bars to choose from, like Keys Fisheries, where you can sample
their raw bar overlooking the Gulf. Visit the Dolphin Research Center or stop in to tour the Turtle
Hospital. Spend an afternoon at nearby Sombrero Beach with a a real sandy beach, a newly appointed playground, and convenient restrooms. Bahia Honda State Park is just a 15 minute drive
just over the iconic 7 Mile Bridge. There is much to do in Marathon, but if you wish to explore the
islands, the drives to Key Largo and Key West are just a short hour excursion. Hop on a charter boat for
backcountry fishing, deep sea fishing, SCUBA diving or snorkeling at one of Marathons great Coral reef
sites or sunken ship wrecks!
