Beneath the Mango Tree villa is an immaculate island home featuring stunning island stonework, designed to embody traditional Caribbean indoor-outdoor living.

The villa boasts a spectacular covered veranda with spacious living and dining areas, as well as a sunny pool deck perfect for savoring cocktails, sunsets, and tropical breezes, all while overlooking Great Cruz Bay and the twinkling lights of St. Thomas.

The Space:
Beautiful mahogany French doors link the stunning veranda to the open-concept, fully air-conditioned great room, which features a well-appointed kitchen with counter seating, a charming dining area, and a comfortable living room for indoor entertaining.

The master bedroom, located on the main floor, is elegantly decorated with a unique island stone outdoor garden shower, soaring cypress ceiling, custom mahogany wardrobes, and French doors that open to the veranda and ocean views.

Just steps from the pool deck, the lower level features two identical, thoughtfully appointed bedrooms with private entries, en-suite baths, and AC. Large sliders offer lovely ocean views and lead to a covered deck, ideal for enjoying morning coffee or a good book.

Guest Access:
BookVI will arrange for a greeter to meet you at the villa for check-in, provide a tour, and address any questions about the property, as well as offer insights about the island. Arrangements will be tailored to your party size, arrival time, and familiarity with the area. Alternatively, BookVI offers a virtual check-in via FaceTime to review the villa and answer any questions.

The Neighborhood:
This beautifully landscaped, lush island home is just minutes from Cruz Bay’s shopping, restaurants, and beach bars, and a short drive to the famous North Shore beaches. Mango Tree offers beach chairs, an umbrella, towels, and soft-sided coolers for your beach days. Be sure to ask about the villa’s rental Jeep!

Getting Around:
BOOKVI highly recommends renting a 4-wheel drive vehicle for navigating St. John's terrain. We can provide a list of trusted local rental companies and have a few villa vehicles available.

Other Things to Note:
You will receive a contract to finalize your booking. Once your flight is booked, please provide your flight information to help us plan your arrival. We can assist with arranging private transportation from the airport to the villa, water service, taxi service, boat charters, private chefs, and massages. St John - 2024

The property was exactly as advertised. Very nice, well equipped, and very comfortable. The pool area was great with lots of privacy from the neighbors. The power company in St. John’s is experiencing some issues these days so we had several power outages, but the management company, Book VI, was extremely responsive and helpful.

Love Beneath the Mango Tree

We really enjoyed our time at Beneath the Mango Tree. We especially enjoyed the pool and all the outdoor space for relaxing and dining. The check in process was very smooth and the property manager was very quick to respond to any questions. The house was well stocked, well maintained, and very clean! We would definitely stay here again!

Relaxing oasis that made me feel I “ got away from it all”. I felt completely at home. Enjoyed being able to stay at the house all day and having the pool was terrific. Best sunsets. Brandon and Shawna were a delight.

Under the Mango

A perfect house for our family’s first visit to St John. Drive does require a 4 wheel drive car. House was really clean and had everything we needed for a great vacation week. The pool was great. The beach chairs & snorkeling gear were nice to have for using. We would definitely stay at Under the Mango again.

Incredible home, incredible island!!!

Absolutely gorgeous property! Extremely clean, beautifully decorated, every amenity you can imagine, excellent kitchen, very comfy beds, and the view cannot be beat!!! If you’re looking for a place to stay on St John, pick this property!!! The property management company couldn’t have been more professional, helpful, and friendly and truly helped make our vacation everything we dreamed of!!! We will definitely recommend this property to our friends and family and cannot wait to stay Beneath the Mango Tree again!

Fabulous vacation

Our week at Under the Mango Tree was fabulous. This is our 20th year in St. John and it just gets better and better. Everything about the house was perfect. Shawna was great. We had wonderful meals outside, enjoyed the pool after a day at the different beaches and all felt so rested after our stay. Would absolutely recommend this wonderful house. Thank you!

Beautiful Villa

I have been to St. John many times and stayed in many villas and this was my favorite by far. It is so thoughtfully provisioned with everything one might need for a week in paradise! From coolers and beach chairs, to enough wine glasses and new cooking pans, it was lovely. The view is spectacular and the pool is just amazing. The surprise of an outdoor shower for the primary bedroom made it feel even more like a luxurious vacation. Brandon and his team are absolutely wonderful.

Stay Here - Wonderful!

Communication with the rental team was great from our first sign up until we left. The house and gardens are very well maintained - just such a pleasure in all ways. Beds comfortable, furniture clean, kitchen well stocked, grill clean and plenty of outdoor space - pool amazing. The two downstairs bedrooms are accessible from outside only but are air conditioned and lovely. Do not be concerned about the outdoor shower for the Master - it is a delight. Great location near Cruz Bay. Once you tackle the driveway - no sweat, but would recommend a 4 wheel drive.

Great House in Great Location

Beneath The Mango is a wonderful house for 2-6 people. Master is outstanding. Other two bedrooms are small, but have own bathroom with showers. Pool is great. Constant breeze cuts down on bugs. The team at BookVI is second to none. Picked up and dropped off promptly. Had no issues at all with house. Exceeded expectations. We rented our jeep through BookVI as well and it was great. Overall loved our experience and will definitely be coming back.

New favorite trip!

My husband and our best friends stayed for a week at Beneath the Mango Tree in early Feb '23. We had a spectacular time at the property. The perfectly decorated luxurious home was expertly located to be away from the noise of Cruz Bay, but only a quick drive when we wanted to do dinners or shopping. We rented the property's Jeep and that was so convenient to allow us to explore the island. Brandon and team were very responsive over text/email for anything we needed (like pizza delivery options, coordinating pick-ups, house questions, etc). The property has literally everything you need to explore, like snorkel gear, beach chairs, towels, bug spray or umbrellas. We would highly recommend this property and will definitely stay again!

Paradise

We absolutely loved this gorgeous villa! The home and surrounding property was beautiful, clean, comfortable, well appointed with everything you’d need and more. Waking up to that view each morning was priceless! Communication with the property manager was very easy - they were quick to respond and very considerate when we had questions! Our flight was delayed and we were late arriving to the island - they communicated with us throughout the day to help us with any concerns the delay might cause with ferries and rental cars and so forth and met us at the ferry to get us to the house even though it was quite late. They were just lovely and kind to work with! Would most definitely stay here again!

Great View

We have been visiting St John for 25+ years and this is one of the best properties we have rented. The villa was immaculate, well stocked with both kitchen supplies and coolers, floats and snorkels for the beach. The outdoor space has comfortable furniture and an amazing sunset view. The deck around the pool is large enough to relax and have drinks at sunset, or use the large upper deck. The great room has comfortable furniture and the master bedroom is large with lots of closets. The only thing to be aware of is the lower two bedrooms are much smaller than the master and are more appropriate for teens/kids, or a family than two couples. If you are travelling with a family this is a perfect villa to rent.

Amazed by the view!

I can’t say enough about this Villa! I love it! The layout, the view, the amenities, the property managers, the location and my absolute favorite part…the outdoor shower!!! This house is the perfect size for a growing family. I have older children that have significant others and you don’t always want to be under foot. They need their independence so their own “room” to be who they are. This place had it all. An amazing pool to lounge in or jump around at sunset. A large patio to enjoy the sunrise with coffee! The landscape is stunning. Dabney is the best property manager! She was accommodating and had lots of info on local hot spots! I have stayed in this Villa 3 times over 10 years and this was by far the best time!!! So many memories made here!!!

Beautiful St John Villa

We just returned (8/1) from a fantastic 6 night stay at "Beneath the Mango Tree". The sunsets and view were as stunning as advertised and the pictures do not do justice to this beautifully decorated villa. Comfortable climate control, gorgeous pool and outdoor space and equipped with EVERYTHING you need for time spent at home AND for the beach. I miss the lovely outdoor shower already! The layout was perfect for our family of 6 (2 adults, 4 teenagers) but I would note that the two downstairs bedrooms only connect to the house via an outdoor stairway and have sliders for exit/entry so if you have young children it might pose a bit of a challenge using those bedrooms for them. Quiet neighborhood, convenient to town and the north shore beaches. Check-in and check-out was a breeze and Dabney was super helpful getting us situated. I highly recommend "Beneath the Mango Tree" for your stay on St John. I would most certainly stay there again if we return to the island.

Paradise with a view

We love love loved our stay at Beneath the Mango. This Villa was more than enough space for our family of five. We are an adventurous family that loves to explore, but the setup and amenities at this property made it difficult to leave! The Pool is gorgeous, and the view is addictive at all times of day. Coffee in the morning, dinner in the evening, card games on the veranda, we took in the view as much as we could. The drive to town is short (maybe 7-8 minutes), easy for eating dinner in town and / or shopping. There's Dolphin Market nearby for all your needs. We used Land Lubber Logistics and had Villa stocked with essentials for breakfast, etc. before we arrived - this worked out great for us. Drive to North Shore beaches isn't too far. We always opted for the coastal drive versus going up and over the middle of the island whenever possible. We loved the trip up to the Windmill Bar to take in Sunset. Be prepared for driving steep hills and sharp switchback turns - all worth it and somehow you do get used to it. I would not stay at this property with younger children. Our kids are almost 16, 12 and 10. The downstairs rooms are only accessible from outside (which we knew when we booked), and not connected to each other - which we had not realized. Our kids did fine, with two of them bunking up, but it took a little getting used to for us. This would be absolutely perfect choice for families with older kids/teens and/or 3 couples. Villa includes everything you need, even paper products and toiletries. The kitchen is well stocked, included spices and condiments during our stay. The laundry machines are extra large size and work great. Pool towels, snorkeling fins, pool noodles, coolers in multiple sizes, water thermos/jug, a small shade tent, a sand repellent blanket, beach chairs, everything you need for day trips to the beach. And everything is in great condition. This entire property and all of its contents are very well maintained. A wonderful surprise was a bird feeder filled with a liquid that constantly attracted hummingbirds to the veranda. Finally, we also really appreciated the services of BookVI. Prior to the trip it was so nice to have Ashley answering questions via email, making itinerary suggestions, and giving us reservation ideas to suit our needs. Knowing that Dabney was meeting us at our Jeep rental on arrival day was a great way to begin our trip!
