Waterfront Luxury Home on 5 Acres. Sleeps 22. Beds: 5 king, 4 queen, 4 twin XL
JB2 River Ranch is a comfortable and luxurious space for your next family reunion, multi-family vacation, or corporate retreat, with a full remodel completed in June 2022. We have over 250 ft of riverfront on Lake McQueeney with a wide, multi-level dock for lakeside fun. JB2 is close to all the restaurants, bars, and activities of New Braunfels, Historic Gruene, and Seguin while enjoying the tranquility and openness of a rural getaway.
July 2025 Update:
Fortunately our property was unaffected by the tragic flooding in Kerr and Kendall Counties. We are incredibly distraught by the losses in those areas. For all of our rentals the rest of 2025, we will be donating 15% of our rental cash flow to local non-profits in the Kerrville region which are rebuilding and supporting the people in the area.
The Main House features a gourmet kitchen, 3 dining areas, 2 living areas, 5 bedrooms, and 4 bathrooms. The courtyard layout includes a Casita, with separate entrances, an additional kitchenette, 2 bedrooms, and 1 bathroom. With ample outdoor seating over multiple levels, everyone in your group will be able to enjoy the 180-degree water views.
Our home sits on 5 private acres, about 1/2 mile from the main road. Find your peace away from the hustle and bustle of the city: take a dip or float in the river, fish for catfish and bass from our dock, watch the herds of whitetail deer, listen to the birds chirping, or take in the majestic sunsets over the water.
The house is located above the 500 year flood plain, approximately 40 feet above the water and lower dock.
INCLUDED AMENITIES:
* 250 feet of waterfront with a huge dock & deck.
* Fully equipped kitchen to create gourmet meals.
* 2 full-sized refrigerators/freezers.
* Traeger pellet grill.
* Propane gas grill (next to Party Barn).
* Extra-large capacity washers & dryers.
* Fire pit.
* Basketball hoop & tree swing.
* Vegan hand soap & body wash (non-toxic, paraben & sulfate free).
* Professional moisturizing shampoo & conditioner with avocado oil & aloe vera.
* Bath & hand towels.
* Dish & laundry detergent.
ADDITIONAL FEATURES:
* 4 air conditioning units.
* 3 hot water heaters.
* All custom, handbuilt solid pine beds with hotel-quality mattresses.
* All new bathroom vanities with granite countertops.
* All new stainless steel kitchen appliances, including 5-burner induction stove, range hood, double oven, dishwasher, & fridges/freezers.
* All new flooring.
* All new paint inside & out.
* All new window treatments.
* All new lighting.
* Eclectic mix of brand-new, antique, and custom handcrafted furniture.
* Art collected by ourselves and our families throughout our travels.
* 4 large screen TVs (Living Room, MBR, Casita Kitchenette, & Courtyard).
We still have water in our part of Lake McQueeney! As of Summer 2025, the water level around our outer dock is still 3-4 feet deep, and over 8 feet deep in the center of the river off our dock. Floating, fishing, kayaking, paddleboards, etc. are all still good where our house is located on the river, just no power boats.
Regarding the Lake McQueeney dam repair work, our house is approximately 4 miles upriver from the dam, and has had only a minimal 1-1.5 foot water level decrease since the start of the work.
We still have regularly flowing water from the small hydroelectric dam a few hundred yards upstream of us.
*** Please note: Our home is located in a rural area. You may encounter a variety of wildlife on the property, including deer, insects, fire ants, mice, spiders, birds, snakes, raccoons, lizards, etc. We do our best to prevent pests inside the house, but you may still encounter them.
Main areas of the property for your use are:
- The main house (the 'Casita' is part of the same main house and garage structure, with an arched walkway from the front yard through to the back courtyard)
- The dock and yards
- The covered picnic porch, tables, and gas grill by our barn (not inside the barn itself)
*** We do not provide outdoor towels or blankets for the dock and lake. Please use our bath and hand towels inside only.

We're excited to share our second home with you for your vacation. We live in Austin and love spending time with our family at Lake McQueeney. We enjoy going out for dinner and music in New Braunfels and Gruene, especially exploring the area to find fun restaurants and breweries.
We are experienced hosts and want to make your stay comfortable and easy. We previously hosted our second home in Lake Tahoe on VRBO for 11 years and earned VRBO Premier Host recognition continuously.

Varför vÀrden valde detta boende
We looked at a lot of houses in the Hill Country, and knew immediately that this was 'the one'. The high ceilings and enormous windows provide an airy feeling and great views. The common areas of the Main House all flow together so large groups can comfortably gather. The Courtyard setup with the Main House, multiple patios, and Casita provides a great space for large groups, while still allowing you to find a quiet moment when you want. Lake McQueeney is nice and quiet since there is no public access to this section of the Guadalupe.

There's nothing quite like sipping a cup of coffee on the back deck as the sun rises over the water and the birds chirp in the trees. Yearround, Lake McQueeney is breathtakingly beautiful - and only minutes from the attractions, restaurants, bars, and dance halls of New Braunfels and Sequin. We found this property to be the perfect combination of peaceful tranquility and modern convenience.
