Good location...

Great location, unit was a bit dated and carpets were not in as good of shape. Stained up, hair stuck w/ tape to walls... beach chairs were both broken and need replace - we noticed after packing them to the beach.

Overall Nice condo

This condo was overall good. Our family enjoys Sugar Beach and we have stayed their several times. The condo itself was clean, but very dated. In particular the carpets need to be replaced, they are probably original and are stained very badly. We did encounter some uncleanliness when it came to the pull out couch mattress protector and the management dealt with it EXTREMELY well. We told them and almost immediately a brand new one was delivered to us with no hassle. I think for the location the condo is a good value, but please give some consideration to making some cosmetic updates.

Hot in Paradise

We were here for our friends 50th birthday. The problem we had was the AC unit was not cooling down past 73. We had 4 people staying here and it got hot. We had all the doors and windows closed and gave up all hope of the AC working. We finally had to keep all wimdows and doors open for some type of cooling effect. The room was cute and reminds you of the Golden Girls. Absolutely beautiful views and quick beach access. All in all we were happy.

Sugar Beach Is Great - The Unit Is Dated

We have been going to Sugar Beach Resort for nearly 40 years. Built in 1978, the pool area can use an update but is well kept and the staff is great. The unit is shaded in the morning so eating breakfast on the lanai is a pleasure. In the evening, the view of the sunset from the lanai is amazing. Most of the units we have stayed in are regularly updated. This unit seems worn. In addition to needing some wall repair and a fresh coat of paint, the kitchen supplies were sadly inadequate. There was 1 teaspoon and one round soup spoon. There were plenty of large plates but only 2 salad size plates. It was nice that there were several sizes of scissors though. The TV is small and while we weren't there to watch TV, when we could (see below) and did, it was too far away for our aging eyes. The cleaning crew did a good job on the inside but the lanai furniture was gritty and slimy. We called and they came right over and cleaned everything and said that the people before us had left sunscreen everywhere. When we arrived, the internet, cable, and unit phone did not work. We contacted the management company, VACASA, and they connected us with Spectrum who came out the next day and fixed everything. We arrived on 2/6 and the Spectrum repair person said that their records showed everything had been out since 2/2. We'll be back to Sugar Beach but in a different apartment.

Loved this location - beach front was wonderful & the setup with bbq's, pool, hot tub was awesome. Our suite was nice & still had a good view of the ocean while being an inside suite.

Bug bites!

When we first arrived at the property, it seemed like the place was OK and fairly clean. But after a few days, I noticed I started breaking out in a terrible rash. I think that was a result of bedbugs. Also, my husband found cockroaches in the bathroom on three nights when he woke up, then, when then, when our plane was canceled due to weather problems, they would not help me find another room or let me stay another two days. The man on the phone was quite rude to me.

I’m sure this complex has nice units but ours was not one of them. Very dingy! The bed was comfortable but the rest of the furniture was not. Lacks any sort of pride in making guest feel special. The smell of the nature preserve down the road stunk of dead fish. Spending so much money we should have been made aware of this.

Perfect budget unit, great views

Perfect unit for a fantastic price! We were so pleasantly surprised with everything in this unit as it had the lowest price at sugar Beach, we weren't expecting it to be this nice. It was perfect! Beautiful view from the balcony. Fully equipped with everything we needed. Perfect find and such a bargain!

5 stars!

My room was available before check in which was amazing because we arrived an hour early. It’s close to the airport. The view outside my balcony was exactly as described. The place was clean. AC worked. Easy check in and check out. Snorkel store located onsite. We were right on the beach and perfect for morning walks. Pool and hot tub were great. Host also surprised us with goodies :) first chocolates I had! Thank you!

Tired

This condo has a fabulous view of the pool and the sunset on the sea. It has a good kitchen we minimal cookware... We donated a frying pan. The toilet is a little taller than others. The furniture is nice as is the washer and dryer. Otherwise, it's just tired. The paint is worn down and dirty looking and bathroom door is an antique. The shower and tiles are stained and look dirty. For us, it wasn't really a problem, but it might be for others.

Great view and very clean

Sugar Beach Resort

The grounds are pristine. Always working on them and making it gorgeous. The room was very clean and comfortable. Tons of lawn chairs…by the pool and close to the beach. Had a wonderful stay. We will be back.
