Sarasota stay

We had a good first impression until finding mouse droppings in the house. Owner was able to communicate and get someone out right away, which was amazing. However, we caught a rat in the traps they set, had to dispose of that and then continued to hear some mouse like sounds of distress the next day. Peanut butter from the second trap was gone and gave many guests an anxious night's sleep over this whole multiple day ordeal. Upon reaching out to the owner about refunds for our trouble, she was only able to provide 6%, which I think is ridiculous. I'm not pleased with the overall stay and bits of communication.

Stay Away

The pictures of the property do not reflect actual conditions. The couch was broken and filthy, there was no other furniture except stacking chairs. The interior of the dishwasher was moldy and rusty. Also, the shower had black mold and everything needed a thorough cleaning. We left without staying there because we found the place uninhabitable. The owner agreed to a full refund of our money initially but then reneged. Only after repeated discussions with VRBO and the owner did we manage to receive a half refund. Overall a very disappointing experience.

Location, Location, Location

The best thing about this rental is the location as it is near everything you might want to do in Sarasota. The beaches, restaurants, theatre and a nice park are are all very near by. If you have a dog, Payne Park is perfect for walking your pet. On the flip side, the house needs some TLC. The blinds are broken and have not been cleaned in awhile along with the floors and the window sills. The backyard while large could use some work as the fence is broken and you could not leave a pet out without a leash. Also, had a problem with the internet which was an outage. The provider was unable to restore for a full week. This was a Frontier problem not that of the owner. The house has everything one needs for an extended stay in terms of working appliances, dishes, cleaning supplies and the owner is very responsive. Overall it was a good stay and I was very happy with the location. Publix is walking distance.

cute house

Location and response of owner were excellent. Cute house with wonderful, friendly neighbors. Gas grill, and nicely equipped kitchen. Beds, pillows and linens were good! Some items that could use attention: the top was off the patio table. Would be wonderful to have outdoor dining. The blinds were in need of work, they are being replaced. The couch could use replacement. Over all a delightful stay!

Never posted a negative review before, but...

I communicated with the owner, who appears to live out of town, about some of these issues. She was responsive to my text, but that didn't help rectify anything for our stay. She just said that she would notify her property manager. This is what we found: 1. Despite having a sign asking us to remove our shoes inside, the floors were filthy. After having the bottom of my feet become very dirty walking around inside, I wet Swiffered the floors the afternoon after we arrived and went through five Swiffer pads for the whole place. Each Swiffer pad was very dirty. 2. The exterior light and the closet light in the main bedroom were burned out. In addition, one of the TV remotes needed new batteries. 3. The property details included a hot tub. That was the whole reason I rented this house. But there was no hot tub. The listing has since been updated. 4. Plastic dishes were put away wet and so some of them were mildewy / moldy when I pulled them out of the cupboard. 5. The dishwasher racks had mildew on them where the spines met the horizontal part of the rack. 6. We were going to wash clothes, but the inside of the washing machine smelled very musty so I didn't want that odor being transferred to our clothing. 7. The twin beds in the third bedroom are not meant for an adult. They are just a mattress on top of a very squeaky spring frame. My daughter ended up sleeping on the couch the last night. 8. The plumbing connections into the top of the water heater were very corroded.

Great location

This was a great, quiet location. It was across the street from a fabulous park and blocks away from dining and the marina. It is a minimalistic place, but it has everything we need. I had 3 high school senior girls with me, and they loved it. Quick Uber to Siesta Key and grab a scooter in the park.

Loved the convenient location to downtown. Ate at good places on Main Street. House was just big enough for 4 ladies on a short getaway. Very bright and clean.

Beach House Yay

This 3 bedroom house was close to the Lido and Siesta Key beaches. All the household and toiletry items were provided. The tile floors throughout were easy to sweep up. We enjoyed the back patio. The master bed was comfy. Lots of bedroom pillows provided. We used several to add to the comfort of the couch

T&D 2023 winter trip

This was our first Vrbo experience. Host was wonderful. Check in was very smooth. Excellent property, great Sarasota location and neighborhood. Would certainly recommend it to other travelers. Would not hesitate to return when in Sarasota.

Great downtown location!

We were looking for a location near the Sarasota Seafood and Music Festival and this downtown location met all our needs. Within walking distance or a short drive to restaurants and shops and just across from a park. Would definitely stay again.

Great getaway

This was a nice quaint house. It provided all the essentials that we needed for our stay. Very convenient to grocery shopping and sightseeing in Sarasota. Would definitely stay again.

Nice place to stay in Sarasota

House was very clean and tidy on arrival. Good location near a large park, which was nice for walking/running and had a great playground. Easy drive to several beaches and beach gear was provided (very helpful since we were flying in). Host was very responsive when we had questions/concerns.
