Just perfect

Beautiful decorated, clean, every amenity you need and more. The extra touches are everywhere down to the soaps, pillow sprays, sound machine, coffee assortment. The king beds are very comfortable with great linens and blankets. Outside decks and areas are so inviting with hot tub, TV's and seating for relaxing all around this home. We love having access to the golf cart too. The golf course is tops. The local area has lots to offer. We will be back in fall.

This is a fabulous place to stay. The owners have thought of everything you need to have for a perfect quiet relaxing stay. The property is as pictured with all the extras of a 5 star resort. This is one of our favorite stays and will be back in the future.

Best host we've had

We have booked VRBO properties in multiple states and this is hands down the best hosts we have had! This beautiful decorated property has every amenity imaginable, every small appliance and kitchen item you could possibly need, and fully stocked from the bathrooms and kitchen to the outside fireplace and hot tub.

So peaceful and has everything you need on site.

Beautiful property close to highlands and Dillard activities and restaurants. Owners thought of everything and once you get there you don’t need to go anywhere. Amazing top of the line hot tub!! Outdoor spaces are amazing. Will visit again soon. CH

Excellent Stay

Beautiful home. Very relaxing and the Christmas decorations were beautiful. The hot tub was large. Beds were comfortable. Kitchen and the entire home has everything you could need. We will be booking this location again and highly recommend. It is perfect in every way.

The BEST vacation rental!

Totally updated gorgeous cabin in an excellent location. They have thought of everything that you could possibly need. We will definitely be staying again. I don’t have enough words to say how great this cabin is!

Lovely visit to Sky Valley!

This was our second year in a row visiting the area. Last year we stayed in Clayton atop Screamer Mountain. This year we chose to stay in Sky Valley as my husband is an avid golfer. There are SO many wonderful things about this property! Proximity to splendid golf course, absolutely adorable home and VERY well appointed. My husband wanted to buy it on the spot! Everything about this older home has been updated, leaving all the charm. Karen is clearly a decorator, as this is by far the best decor we have found in a VRBO. Super clean and all supplies / amenities in the kitchen and all rooms are top notch, By far our favorite space was the adorable deck, with the hot tub, fountain and sitting space. We spent 99% of our time on it, and it really is the total reason to rent this place! Everywhere you look there is something quaint to see, the little "mushroom patch" outside the back door, the area under the stairs, the massage chair!!! Use of the golf cart is a big bonus to tool around Sky Valley. The single disadvantage to this home is that it is FULLY wooded; no view and while sunlight is visible through the trees, the house remains pretty much dark all day. I might think about removing some of the trees, purely for sunlight purposes. Definitely not all, but some could go :) Despite that, the view surrounds you when you get in the car, so pick your poison. We chose the cute house :) Will definitely be back! Thank you Karen for an awesome weekend!

Chalet offers everything that we enjoyed so much last year. First class style and comfort beautifully combined. They think of everything for your comfort! Wooded view from the back deck And the fragrant aroma of the mountains was just what we needed!!

Second Time Around

Had a chance to stay longer this time. As before, Sugarbush exceeded our expectations. It’s a great place to relax and unwind and it’s also a great starting point to visit wineries, waterfalls, great restaurants, the pool, and the golf course. Already planning our next trip.

Gorgeous!

This place is beautiful. It is well equipped with everything you could possibly need as well as things you didn’t know you needed. The furnishings are gorgeous. Great porches for relaxing. Comfy beds. Convenient location to Highlands in one direction and Clayton in the other. Highly recommend!

Great hospitality and a home in the trees!

Sugarbush Shalet was wonderful! From the moment we walked it, we felt welcomed. The lights were on, the electric fireplace was burning, a welcome basket was waiting for us, soft music was playing, and the whole place smelled like cinnamon. Everything felt very clean and organized. It was as clean as we would keep our own home. It was obvious that Karen and John take pride in their cabin. The kitchen was fully stocked (I think there were 7 or 8 cutting boards alone!) and we found everything we needed. There was even a welcome binder that had tips and how-to instructions for everything in the cabin, in the resort, and in the area. Bonus features of the house that we really enjoyed: a saltwater hot tub (so nice and it didn't burn our skin), a billiards table, a guitar, a full-body massage chair, propane fire pits on both the front porch and the covered side porch by the jacuzzi, and a golf cart to ride around the resort. Also, the place felt very private, up high among the trees. It was a natural respite from our busy lives. Very relaxing and homey. I'm sure I'm forgetting something, but the whole experience was enjoyable and easy. We would definitely recommend this place!

Awesome Getaway!

I cannot say enough about our stay at Sugarbush Shalet! It was so much more than we expected. Karen is an exemplary host and has anticipated any need a guest would have. The welcome basket was so sweet! The house is beautifully decorated and so comfortable and cozy. The covered porch is the perfect place for enjoying the sounds of nature. It’s truly one of the most relaxing vacations we’ve had. Our only regret is that we didn’t book the stay for longer. We cannot wait to book our next stay!

Perfect getaway!

My husband and I recently stayed at Sugarbush Shalet for our 20th anniversary. The location is idyllic, the home is beautiful, and all of the extra touches inside and out make this a perfect tranquil retreat. It is also a great base from which to explore the beautiful mountains of GA and NC. Karen and John are wonderful hosts. They were very helpful and quick to respond to questions, and offered great restaurant recommendations. We had such a lovely time we are already looking forward to when we can return.

The BEST Cottage EVER

Sugarbush Shalet is the most PERFECT place ever!!! Seriously, it is that amazing! My girlfriends and I have been gathering, every year, for over 30 years and we all agreed that we finally have found our perfect spot! From the moment you walk through the door, relaxation engulfs you with the soft glow of the fireplace (no heat, flame only), gentle spa music playing, and the cutest gift basket of goodies to kick start your stay. Just try to find one thing wrong with this place and you can’t; it really is that excellent. The back patio is the perfect oasis to unwind. The kitchen is fully equipped with just about everything you need, even every size charcutier board you can imagine. The Beds, the Showers, the Cleanliness, the Décor….ALL OUTSTANDING! Each day we would discover something new about the place and just gush over its awesomeness. I could go on and on detailing every room but go see it for yourself and experience whatever VRBO should be like, truly perfection! Karen is a delightful host, with great recommendations, and we are counting down the days to our return!
