Located just 8 miles North of Leakey, on the West Frio River. The house has a covered front porch and an uncovered back porch surrounded by beautiful mature oak trees. Only about 75 yards walking distance to the river. Come relax in the river and enjoy the surrounding hill country. We’re only 20 minutes from Garner State Park and about 30 minutes over the Hills to Lost Maples Park in Vanderpool .. Only 20 minutes south to Happy Hollow which offers tube rental and shuttle services for tubing ! Yearly Family Vacation

Peaceful Stay

Nice views, quiet, and the river is close by to cool off. We enjoyed cooking on the grill outside, and hiking at Lost Maples and Garner State Park. Mark is a great host who communicates well and ensures a pleasant stay.

River Trip

This was a fun getaway to the river. Our host Mark was absolutely fantastic in hospitality and attentiveness. He made sure we had everything we needed to have the best visit.

Beautiful, peaceful location

The cabin was spacious, clean, and well equipped. Very beautiful setting and convenient to both Lost Maples and Garner State Park. We saw lots of deer on the property and even a fox. Mark was great to work with, responsive, and thoughtful. We will definitely be back.

June 2021 stay

Great property right next to the frio river, love the cabin very secluded. WiFi was good at the cabin. Very nice private yard with deer, stars, hummingbirds, lightning bugs and quite. Nice grill two refrigerators that was helpful. Plenty of parking. Good a/c, direct tv, bring your own roku works well with WiFi. Love the table in the living room keeps the family together while eating and lounging.

Family Getaway

We were so excited to finally get out and travel. The house was perfect for our family (myself, spouse, 2 sons, girlfriend and 3 dogs). It was very secluded, great view of the hills and walking distance to the river. The river has a private entrance, easy to walk to and great for tent and chair set up. The house had 3 queen beds with sheets and pillows and 2 full bathrooms with towels. Kitchen had everything we needed and dish towels. There was 2 refrigerators which was great for all our "drinks". Mark was a perfect host, great communicator - he checked on us throughout our stay to make sure we didn't need anything. He was very hospitable. We look forward to staying here again.

The Best Escape In Leaky

You can not go wrong staying here. This is one of the nicest houses in Leaky. And full of history as the owner built the home personally. Located on the Frio river that is flowing it is a hidden gold mine of tranquility and hospitality. The host is always available and always goes out of the way to make you feel at home. The water is flowing, the kitchen is stocked, and just in case you forgot something Leaky is just a few miles away! I can recommend enough!

Loved it!

This was one of our best stays in Leakey. From Mark communicating with us on how to get there, to him waiting on the porch for us. The customer service was perfect. We even got to ride the buggy to the river and upstream and Mark entertaining our boys. The cabin was beautiful, cozy, spacious and had plenty of room inside and out. We will definitely return soon to this gem somewhere north of Leakey, Texas. Best cabin so far. Two thumbs up and 6 stars. Thank you Mark for the hospitality.

Excellent stay!

Mark was such a hospitable host. My friends and family had such a great and peaceful time. Mark checked in multiple times before we arrived to ensure we had good directions and didn’t get lost before we lost signal. He also made sure we were aware of the local attractions so that we were able to optimize our vacation time and have the most fun. The house itself was so comfortable, clean, and accommodating. Highly recommend!! 10/10 experience!

Great secluded place!

The property was great! The river access for the property is nice but very shallow ( about 3 feet at the deepest ). However, Mark told us about a place up from the next river crossing ( being about 5 feet deep ) that was perfect for us! The host was hospitable and had a small array of items ( certain condiments and beverages ) that proved invaluable to us being that it's a pretty winding, slow speed limit road to get back to town. The place was only about 30 minutes from Garner State Park, which I also highly recommend. In all, a great experience and can't wait to get back!

Awesome customer service and beautiful location!!!

Our stay was great and the family enjoyed it. There is access to a part of the river that's private. Our family didn't care for it but Mark did show us another access to this beautiful river and we fell in love with it. We look forward to staying here again! Comfy beds and no cell signal so we really unplugged and enjoyed the beautiful nature.

Frio River Vaca

House was a good size and as described. It meet all our needs, 4 adults wanting to explore the Frio River. Property owner was very informative and gave perfect directions and many helpful hints, and warned us re: losing cell service in the area, prior to arrival. The house not exactly being "on the Frio River" would be my only complaint. It was still very accessible and did not hinder us from having an awesome time exploring the river. Also, kudos to Mark, because when we got ready to leave the suburban would not crank, dead battery, he jumped in his truck and came right over to jump us off. Thanks again Mark.

Great Location

Great location for no crowd & access to water

The cabin was as described. Had small issue with the A/C not cooling properly but good enough to stay comfortable. Mark was on top of it & had an A/C man out the next day, also offered the keys to his place on the property if it couldn't be fixed right away. Mark was very accommodating but still went out of his way to give you plenty of space. His place is further up the hill in amongst the next set of tree's. The cabins on his place are separated by an acre or two apart from each other with plenty of tree's. We stayed at the 1st Cabin up the hill on the property, closer walk down the hill to River access. We also drove to the low water crossing about 1/4 mile away, Mark had shown us, parked and walked up river about 50yds to the deep water hole and 2 kiddie rope swings, totally private place to swim, took Wal-Mart floats. The 2 dogs we took had a super time as we did, swimming. We did not allow our dogs on any furniture, take a dog mat for sleeping, and always made sure they were dried off before coming in, be respectful and keep this place clean, as it was very clean. Secluded and beautiful

This place was a gem on the west frio. Me and my family had a awesome time and had a great and friendly experience with Mark the owner/manager of the property. Also the home had all the amenities that was needed for our trip. Will definitely be booking again before the year ends.

Great place to stay

My kids and I had a blast staying here! The surrounding scenery is lovely, the West Frio is a short walk away, the cabin is spacious/clean, and the location is a short drive to many Frio Canyon attractions! Definitely worth coming here again!
