You are close enough to see Yellowstone, even from the hot tub. The property borders national forest and adjacent ranch. You only have to step off the back porch to access the Gallatin National Forest's well-established trail system. A 1,300 foot gateddriveway approach provides privacy as well as a quiet evening stroll. Creek runs through the property. Campfire ring and seating. Each home includes a 2 car garage.It is easy to park trailers or an RV at a designated site along the driveway.
Your group will have room to comfortably space out between the fully furnished4 bedroom Lodge and the2 bedroom Guest House.Then comfortably dine and entertain together in the ample gathering space of the Lodge's open floor plan.
The newly constructed Lodge and spacious Guest House are designed for comfort and convenience. With each house having full wrap around covered decks, you enjoy the mountain views, relax in a spa, and lounge in comfort. Each home's deck features a hot tub, grill, outdoor dining areas, and deck seating. Spotting scopes are there to take in the view, watch wildlife, or star gaze. Lucky visitors can see the Northern Lights or a bald eagle.
Inside, each home is equipped with fully stocked modern eat-in kitchens with automatic espresso/coffee machines, full size refrigerators, ice makers, dishwashers, induction ranges, ovens, blenders,tea kettles, and 1 crockpot. Water softeners.We include everything you need to cook including full knife sets, spices, mixing, serving, and cookware sets. Soapstone counters and alder cabinets throughout were custom made locally. Enjoy a fireside dinner and relax in the living room by the Lodge's soapstone centerpiece, a double sided wood burning Tulikivi. Or turn on the Tulikivi's electric heating element to feel the warmth of the soapstone without lighting the fire. After the kids are in bed, relax in bonus rooms in each house and watch a movie. Build a fire in the guesthouse's soapstone wood stove to cozy up to.
Get a full night's rest on new Purple mattresses. Full sets of linen and towels for each guest are included. The homes are professionally cleaned and laundered between stays by our own staff. We provide a deep clean between each reservation.A $650 cleaning fee per stay alsoincludesa hot tub fee to drain, clean, and refill both hot tubs between reservations. We hold a commercial accommodations license in the state of Montana,which includes training on proper cleaning, hot tub drains between stays, andsafety inspections by the local fire department. We also stock basic cleaning supplies, wirelessvacuums, and paper towels for your use during your stay.

In each home we provide bear spray, guides, maps, backpacks, coolers, and baby gear for your use during your stay. Also includes laundry detergent, dish detergent, hand soap, paper towels,toiletries, toilet paper, hair dryers, campfire and stove firewood.
Our primary focus is to provide a safe, welcoming, and comfortable experience for our guests.We are a local family who own, manage, and maintain the Shelterwood property. We offer 3 rental options astheLodge, Guest House, or both homes at a reduced rate. We live minutes from the property and are available to support your stay, including driveway snow removal, trash removal, and maintenance as needed.
Construction was completed in 2021. Having abackground in outdoor careers in Montana, we relied on our years of experience working and recreating in the woods when we designed and built Shelterwood. Built for the Yellowstone environment, homes are well insulated with central heat and ceiling fans. In the summer we prefer to open the screened windows at night to enjoy the cool mountain air. Tucked up in the trees on a north facing slope and shaded wrap-around porch, central AC is not needed. We are happy to answer questions about the area and the homes.
Summer highlights: touring Yellowstone Park, fly fishing on Blue Ribbon rivers and streams, visiting the lake, hiking and mountain biking access from the property, guidedhorseback rides, see the rodeo, ride the Yellowstone Aerial Adventures Zipline, catch a movie on the Yellowstone Giant Screen, visit the Grizzly Wolf Discovery Center, dining and shopping in West Yellowstone.
Winter highlights: groomed snowmobile trail access from the property, cross country skiing and snow shoeing access from the property or in town at the Rendezvous trail system, dog sledding,ice fishing, winter tours into Yellowstone by snow coach or snowmobile, downhill skiing and snowboarding at Big Sky ski resort. Driveway and road snowplowing provided. AWD/4WD vehicle needed.
