Grandpa Rudy first came to Pine Island in 1954 and our family has been coming ever since! Grab a cup of coffee (tea or adult beverage) and take a seat around the fire pit, the walk-around deck, or anywhere on the property that the fruit and coconut trees grow to start your "island time".
The Key West style home is one of the only 4 bedroom, 4 bath homes for rent on the island. 2 master bedrooms and a 3rd bedroom with twin beds are on the main level. A separated 4th is bedroom is downstairs with a private entrance. Our favorite spot in the house is the deck that overlooks the pool/hot tub. We hope you enjoy sitting on the deck, having a cup of joe with the doors open letting the island breeze in as much as we do.
Pine Island is a fisherman's paradise so bring - or rent - a boat and use the available dock space to store it. Or toss a line in the canal in the backyard. Snook, red fish, trout, flounder, sheepshead, mackerel, and jack are plentiful but you never know what you'll catch!
Pine Island has so much to offer - nature paths, fantastic restaurants (our favorite pizza comes from the Ragged Ass), kayak launch spots, a bike path that extends the length of the Island. Historic Matlacha is nearby and Cape Coral and Fort Myers have plenty to offer! Enjoy 3 beach cruisers to peddle around the Island and see the sights at a slower place. The lanai features a screened in pool with plenty of pool tools and floaties to spend an afternoon - or many afternoons - splashing around.
From the walk around boat dock, see the mullet flopping in the canal or the egrets, blue heron and osprey flying overhead (perhaps wandering into the yard). We have a lovely family of ducks that return yearly to say hello. Armadillos also come on over for a visit. Manatees meander by most days and you'll likely see dolphins putting on a show for a captive audience.
We hope you come, stay awhile and enjoy the vibes as much as we do. We offer a discount for monthly rentals (holidays excluded). Don't forget to bring the pups!
