Great creek for canoeing and kayaking and fishing. Cabin located close to beaches and Camp Lejeune. Local attractions include, Bogue inlet fishing pier, Hammocks Beach State Park, Pine Knoll Shores Aquarium, Fort Macon, NC Maritime Museum in Historic Beaufort, Mac Daddy's Bowling and Arcade, all within 30 minutes traveling distance.

Great stay!

We loved this little cabin! Pretty secluded but still very close to all the near by amenities which was exactly what we were looking for. Fished right off the dock and brought our kayaks for the creek. Huge fire pit for s’mores afterwards :)

What an amazing stay!

Jim was fantastic from start to finish! He was timely, helpful, kind and accommodating to any and all requests! He is knowledgeable about the area and was there to assist, every step of the way! The cabin is beautifully built, pristine, and perfect for our needs! The canoe on the property is a fantastic addition; we took it almost 4 miles out! It was such a wonderful weekend and we will certainly be back! Thank you so much, Jim!

FUN FAMILY TIME

We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Wish we could have stayed longer! The property was very clean and the canoe that is there was so much fun to use!! They have a nice outdoor fire pit & picnic table as well!

Hidden little gem

Our family was in the area to spend a weekend with our Marine. It is close to Camp Lejuene and yet feels like you are truly away from it all. Our host was very responsive and made us feel welcome. Would definitely stay again.

Beautiful Cabin!

My 3 friends and I had a great weekend trip here! From canoeing on the river to spending a day at the beach, this property was fun for everyone. Jim was very nice and available for questions or help with check in/out. Will definitely be coming here again!

Father & Son Trip

Went to visit my son who is in the marines. Stayed at the cabin all weekend. Very nice and relaxing. Would highly recommend this place. Close to base with plenty of things to do nearby.

Fabulous Gem

My family got together for a vacation. We all came to NC for a relaxing getaway. I took a chance on this beautiful wooded escape, and I was not disappointed! The cabin was stunning! I can’t wait until our next family getaway, so I can book this again. Quiet, natural nature, and slightly away from everything, yet close-by at the same time. A perfect slice of heaven!

Perfect place; outstanding hosts

I can’t speak highly enough about our stay at this cabin! The cabin is perfect in every way, and sits in a quiet area next to Queen’s Creek. It is obvious that a lot of care has been put into building and maintaining the cabin. Jim greeted us when we arrived, and helped us figure out a place for dinner, and a location for us to kayak in Swansboro. My 8-year-old son loved the loft and streaming music when he was in the bathroom. 😊 My husband and I loved sitting on the front porch taking in the view and just relaxing. We also thought the loft was pretty cool! Thank you again to Jim and Carolyn for a wonderful weekend! We will definitely be back!

Very Nice!

We came to town for our son’s baseball tournament but wanted something better than a hotel. And this place was absolutely perfect! Kids (11 & 15) thought the loft was neat. The woodwork and craftsmanship is really pretty. Very clean. Also has comfortable beds. My Husband and son fished off the little dock and did the canoe too. Definitely book if you’re considering. The owner was super nice and easy to communicate with. It’s very close to Emerald Isle , I want to say maybe 15 minutes at the most, super close to Swansboro water front area. We actually were able to get all of that in between games.

Nature at it's best

Love the entire property and environment. Very peaceful and serene. Perfect location between Jacksonville and Swansboro, close to everything you need. The hosts were amazing, attentive, and very responsive. Jim is a great guy full of knowledge of the area and can assist you and advise, always on point. The Cabin was in excellent shape, clean and cozy. Perfect getaway for a couple and kids. We caught plenty of fish in the creek, like croaker, crappie and small mouth bass. I got adventurous and went kayaking on the creek, saw and heard a lot of wildlife. If you need a break from life, this is the place to be!! Thank you Jim for the great conversation we had. Look forward to coming back again

Property was amazing!! Very convenient for our daughter who is in the Marine Corps to meet us for a short visit. The cabin is absolutely beautiful and clean. We so enjoyed having the canoe access as well as the fire pit. I cannot say enough good things about this little piece of heaven back in the woods! The history was a plus too, Jim was kind enough to tell us all about it!! We will definitely be back!!!!

My family and I loved the cabin. It was very clean and comfortable.The cabin is beautiful and is located in a very quiet, secluded area with the creek close by. The cabin was supplied with everything we needed to include linens, towels, and kitchen supplies. The creek is also beautiful and the wife and I took a nice, relaxing canoe trip. Jim, the host was very friendly and helpful and check-in was super easy. We highly recommend this place.

Cabin in the Woods Getaway

We were looking for a small place to stay near our son and his family so we could attend our granddaughters senior play where she had a pretty big role. Hotels are out for us because so many now allow pets, and none of the hotels seem to be very clean. Last hotel experience was a nightmare, so VRBO it is for us when possible. This little cabin fit our needs perfectly. It was built by the owner, using his own trees, so you can imagine the pride he has at stake. It was beautiful inside - quite small - but had everything you could ask for and what you needed. We enjoyed our stay very much and will always try to use that when visiting our son. The scenery outside was beautiful, with a small river off to the side with a pier if someone wanted to fish. It is situated quite a ways off the main road, so you get total peace and quiet - something we enjoy a lot. I would recommend this place to a couple who would just like to get away from the hustle bustle of every day life - it’s a place that will stick in your mind forever. The host was truly amazing and very responsive when needed. You could not have asked for a nicer person to work with. The cleanliness of the cabin will astonish you - it is immaculate and welcomes you to feel comfortable, like being in your own place. A true treasure.

Mountain Getaway 20 Minutes from the Beach

We wanted to have a beach weekend, but prefer the comfort of a cabin which is just the ticket here. The location was beautiful and hearing rain on the roof one night, having a cup of coffee on the porch, and getting space to walk around and still feel like you are away from everything is an incredible way to be on vacation. The space is larger than it seems in the photos. Definitely would come back again.
