Peaceful country setting with privacy and access to river. Located just 11 miles from shopping and dining and in the midst of prime hunting and fishing locations. Also near ATV and snowmobile trails for our outdoors lovers! River, hunting and fishing, shopping, dining, golf course, snowmobiling, and so much more!

There is a small shed next the rental which is used for our personal storage and isn't for use or access for our guests unless otherwise arranged.

Basic supplies such as toilet paper, paper towels, cleaning supplies, soap, kitchen sponges, etc will be provided for guests to use during their stay and enough will be provided to last the average renter's stay of 1-2 weeks. Guests will be responsible for supplying their own supplies past what is provided for use during their stay if those items are used up. This includes long term stays.

There are two separate vacation rentals on the property: the River Retreat and the Whispering Waters cabin. They are completely separate rentals with a privacy fence to ensure that your stay is private and tranquil! All guests are free to enjoy the large yard space, outdoor amenities, and river!

There are 2 canoes and 2 kayaks available for all guests to enjoy. All canoes, kayaks, and such are on a first come first serve basis. Please bring your own life jackets and use at your own risk.

Please be respectful of any guests who may also be staying on the property in the other rental. We want to make sure everyone has an amazing and relaxing stay! :)

There is also a privacy fence between the two houses so you can easily enjoy the river views out on the private patio.

TV is hooked up to Roku which allows guests to sign into their accounts like Netflix or YouTube.

Beautiful property

We went up for some hunting and just to relax. This cabin was perfect for that. The wood burning stove made it nice and cozy in there. There were a lot of flies inside but it is that time of year where they try to make their way indoors. The property is gorgeous and very peaceful.

Country getaway

Peace and Quiet

Our family enjoyed the remote location and access to the water. We were so happy to be able to bring our dogs and give them room to run! The owners were very nice and respectful of our privacy. This was a great place to relax and get away from it all!

Very nice place for a quiet vacation

We had a relaxing week at the “Northwoods River Retreat”. The property was very clean and the hosts were very helpful. Have to mention the dark skies with no street lights to interfere. The open yard was great for an unobstructed view of the night sky.

Relaxing, beautiful and peaceful!

The property was beautiful. It was so quiet! My grandson had a great time fishing and swimming in the river. It is close to lakes and hiking trails. The property owners are very friendly and accommodating. They live on the premises, but totally respect the renter's privacy. Would definitely recommend to anyone who needs to get away and relax.

Peaceful & Relaxing

We have family in Phillips & wanted to stay as close to them as possible to enjoy the 4th of July. This location was perfect! Loved that it was pet friendly as we have a 2 yr old German Shepherd/Black Lab. Cabin is steps away from the river so we were able to fish whenever we wanted and our dog loved swimming in river! Cabin was very clean and well stocked with everything we needed. Owners are on site and were very friendly & prompt with replying when we had questions. We will definitely stay there again! Thank you for having us! Dennis, Sarah & Dayne (also our pup Legend!)

River side

It was a quiet location. The river was really flowing due to the fact they had recently a lot of rain. If you like pets, they do have a dog and a cat that will greet you. The one thing it does need is a Themacell because of all the mosquitoes. Although that’s a side effect of being by water in a place in Wisconsin, because Wisconsin grows big mosquitoes. One question I have is how does that place sleep 10? I know we had four people and we’re very comfortable

We, the hosts, live right nearby the cabin in case you have any needs or questions during your stay (there is a shared driveway and we have access to the lawn and river, so just be aware of that). However, your stay will be completely private to you and your guests so you can enjoy all of the beauty and fun that the River Retreat has to offer!

You may see us playing outside with our young son and daughter from time to time, but we make every effort to respect your privacy and ensure that the property is peaceful during your stay!

There is also a privacy fence between the two houses so you can easily enjoy the river views out on the private patio.
