We had a wonderful stay. The house was well stocked with all the essentials. A beautiful setting, private, quiet and relaxing. Away from the busyness of Sedona and near plenty of beautiful hiking trails. Would definitely stay again.

Fantastic view and location easy to get to anywhere. The place has a nice homey feel with a great backyard. Within in walking distance to a local brewery.

We loved staying here. Comfortable, well equipped house in a great area, convenient to hiking, restaurants groceries. The outside space is very nice with a view of the mountains.

We loved the quiet, private and convenient location. The house was comfortable and clean, and the patio area is great too. We appreciated the well-appointed kitchen with everything needed to cook and prepare meals. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again and hope to do so!

We stayed for a week in October 2026 and really enjoyed the location. The beds were very comfortable and the home was set up for comfort. So very clean! I especially loved the kitchen as there appeared to be everything a proper kitchen should have (and more) to prepare a meal.The backyard had a nice view and had several places to relax outside and enjoy your coffee or a glass of wine. One morning we saw a number of hot air balloons in the sky which was delightful. We were within walking distance to Layla’s which was an excellent coffee/breakfast/brunch place several blocks away. There was also a place called Base Camp (Sedona Beer Company) several blocks away where we enjoyed a flight of drinks & snacks while listening to live music one night.We hiked most days and explored many areas of interest that were within 10-20 minutes away. The stay was a success! Thank you for your hospitality Joan!

This house is perfect..spacious, well stocked, comfortable, multiple sitting areas and outdoor spots to nature watch..birds, deer, Javelina..all with the Sedona Red rocks as a back drop. Quiet neighborhood close to all the action. 10 out of 10!

Beautiful, scenic views from home. Very clean, comfortable beds, roomy inside and out! Home was extremely well equipped. There were even hiking sticks and an assortment of sun-hats. Great variety & delicious local fare. Strongly recommend for seclusion yet close-in for desirable amenities.

Great place for families

We enjoyed our stay at Thunder mountain retreat! It’s a great location for exploring Sedona with West Sedona being the best side to stay on and being close to everything (grocery store, restaurants, hiking). The home was comfortable to stay in and had all the things we needed and more.

Best place we have ever stayed!

This house was fabulous. Close to hikes but away from the hustle and bustle. View from the backyard was amazing! Could walk to Layla's bakery and Sedona Beer Co Basecamp. We would definitely stay here again!

Great location and beautiful views!

What a wonderful home to stay in while enjoying the spectacular red rocks of Sedona. The house was very comfortable - lots of windows - well stocked kitchen - close to shopping and restaurants. Would love to come back and would recommend to friends.

Thunder Mt. Retreat a beautiful place

We had a great time staying at Thunder Mt. Retreat. It was quiet, spacious and beautiful. All our needs were met. Location is great and convenient. We had absolutely no complaints! I would definitely stay at this house again!

Private location

We really enjoyed this house. The location was perfect. We felt we were in a secluded area but were a couple blocks from everything. The house had everything we needed to feel at home. It was comfortable & clean.

Perfect week in Sedona

We’ve just returned from a wonderful stay at Joan’s home in Sedona. The house, location, and amenities exceeded our expectations. Joan was friendly, responsive and helpful. Highly recommended!
