Great location

We enjoyed the location of the property as it was close to the beach and Detwilers Market, which is our favorite place to shop while in Florida. The home itself could use some TLC. There were a few issues with the plumbing, including limited warm running water for showers, slow toilet tank refills, and some dripping under the sink in the master bath. The kitchen was also a bit lacking, with dull knives and limited utensils, making it challenging to prepare full meals for a family. Despite these issues, we had a pleasant stay. However, we would likely look for a different home on our next visit.

Sister Trip

More outdated than expected. Perfect place to spend time with sisters both inside, poolside and by the fire table. Owner was responsive to any concerns we had. Located in a nice neighborhood only minutes from Siesta Key beach. Grocery store, fresh fruit and seafood along with other stores within walking distance.

Ok, but not paradise

Overall, our experience was ok. We inquired about property damage from the hurricanes, and would anything impact our visit. Our host (Susan) informed us that there was some damage to the outside, specifically a fence, roof shingles and the pool screen. The fence and roof were repaired before our arrival, but the pool enclosure was not replaced. Susan stated that the pool was fine, as was the pool heater. Since the pool enclosure was not replaced, the pool, while cleaned once weekly, was fairly dirty. There may have been a pool heater, or heated when circulating daily, but the water was cold. We didn't get in the pool at all during our visit. The inside was not impacted by the hurricane, but we were disappointed at the lack of cleanliness. We arrived on a Saturday, contacted Susan immediately, and to her credit, she had a cleaning crew there Sunday morning to clean certain areas. The lights above the kitchen island were quite dirty and never cleaned, even after the Sunday crew, so we cleaned ourselves. The outside electric panel door was not secured, so we were awakened one night by the winds, and the door banging. We applied duct tape to the door to keep closed. A minor inconvenience. The power went out, the toilets were not working, and we needed to call the host again. Again, to Susan's credit, she had a plumbing service there quickly, and there was little inconvenience. All in all, our stay was enjoyable, and we appreciated Susan's efforts.

Would not recommend

When we arrived after 15 hours of driving, the house was not clean. We found a dead baby frog in the living room, dirt in bathroom sink, the dishes had dirt on them, dirt and multiple daddy long leggers in the corners and in the closets, dirt on the kitchen counters, it was awful and not something you want to see after arriving at 7pm at night exhausted. But what was very upsetting was that my young niece found a vape cartridge in her drawer while unpacking which tells me they either didn’t clean or failed to make sure all items were picked up from the previous stay. I’m just so glad it wasn’t something else worse than that! I reached out to the host and they apologized and sent a cleaner the next day. They also said they had the house/ windows power washed. That’s why there was dirt and bugs inside the house.. But I asked myself why wouldn’t you double check the house was cleaned before having your guests arrive? The cleaner came but didn’t wash the dishes which meant we had to clean all the dishes before using them. The dishwasher was not clean, there was a lot of food particles stuck in the filter so we had to clean that. There was a sheet of dust on top of all the ceiling fans..I was told the pool gets cleaned every Monday- nobody came on Monday to clean the pool. The bath tub drain was clogged so you’re standing in your own dirty water. We had to clean the closets so we could put our clothes away. We had to kill multiple cockroaches This house honestly grossed me out.

Great Location, but….

Great location, however there were a few concerns. Was definitely a bit more run down than expected and has some issues. Air conditioner was initially not getting cool enough, However owner sent someone out promptly to get it working well enough for our time there. My daughter and I woke up itching with bites all over and freaked out so we washed all the bedding. Not sure, but may have just been bug bites from old windows and gaps from front door or sliders letting insects in. Master bath had No outlets in it to use blow dryer or electric razor which was odd. Very adequately supplied with toiletries and laundry soap was a plus.Also enjoyed the pool after long days out and about. Overall enjoyed our stay In Sarasota, but would probably find a different rental if we return unless a little TLC was given to this property as it has great potential

Great location, and cheerful Florida vibe

This house was conveniently located for the event we came to Florida for, and it was also close to several beaches. We appreciated the tranquility of a neighborhood, which was a welcome contrast to the people density and business of beachfront hotels. The tasteful and colorful decor made the house homey and brought the sunshine in when we weren’t outside. Very grateful to have a kitchen, laundry room, pool to cool off in, and beach towels that we didn’t have to pack. Would stay again.

Place was nice. Couldnt enjot breezes in the house as the windows were screwed shut. Couldnt leave doors to lanai open because hurricane damaged screens were ripped and one missing so bugs got inside. House is in need of some repairs but not alot. I fixed towel bar and shower drain cover in master. Owner was helpful with direct tv for sports. Property management needs to put trash out Wednesday morning. Too hot in garage to let it sit. There were ants and worms all over it when i arrived.

Was a nice older house in a nice quiet neighborhood pool was nice in a good area close to everything you need only complaint was a broken glass in the floor of the kitchen found it the hard way other than that was nice place

So much to like

This was the perfect rental for our month long stay in Sarasota. Communication was excellent with the owners and their response was quick when needed. We loved the quiet neighborhood, the fenced in yard for our dogs, the very clean heated pool (a pool service cleans it weekly), best zero gravity pool chairs that were great for napping by the pool, plenty of beach chairs and umbrellas. The kitchen was extremely well stocked with matching service for 12. More than plenty of towels, washcloths , TP etc . Very close to beautiful Siesta Key beach (15 min bike ride). So many great places to eat and shop nearby with a lovely park close that has a weekly farmers market and Art fairs. We all found the beds comfortable (the two twin beds had brand new mattresses). We can’t wait to visit again

Perfect home and great neighborhood for extended stay!

I feel fortunate to have been able to stay in this lovely home for most of February. This was a perfect place to work remote, while escaping winter in Wisconsin. We have already committed to booking again next winter (and can't wait to return). I will say, this is a 1960s era house, in a 1960s era neighborhood. For me, that was amazing, but there are some quirky things that come with an older house. Not bad, just quirky. I could write a book about all the things I loved, I'll share the top ones: 1. Fantastic walkable neighborhood. This is a family neighborhood with the nicest people (and cool homes!). We walked our dog 2x daily and met so many kind neighbors. 2. Lovely heated pool and screened patio area. 3. Lots of space, decorated nicely. I had the best backdrops for all my video calls. 4. Super fast wifi (500 mbps) And yes, the wifi was strong enough to work from the pool deck! 5. House was stocked with everything. We didn't have to buy any paper products (even though we were there a month), we had tons of towels, and all the dishes we could need. Included toaster, hot water kettle, coffee maker. 6. The property owner, Susan, was very responsive. We broke a deck chair the first day and she had a new one delivered right away. 7. Our golden retriever loved the freedom she had with the fenced yard. 8. The location is amazing. There were a couple stores an easy walk from the house, and tons of terrific restaurants and shops a short drive away. Sista Key is also close!

Great Sarasota stay.

Nice house for our needs. Fine location. Only minutes from Siesta Key, close to shopping, plenty of restaurants and bars. Pictures should be updated. It is maybe a bit dated, but very adequate. Enjoyed the pool area a lot. The hosts were great to deal with. Immediately addressed any concerns that we had.

Siesta key beach location

Siesta key beach location -Great vacation for our family. Only 10 minutes from the most gorgeous beach in the United States! The owner and caretaker were very responsive. Checking in and out was easy. They had four wonderful beach chairs and beach umbrella for a really convenient trip to the beach. Afterwards we were able to jump in the pool and relax at the house. We will definitely come back!

Lovely but cheaply done, Crappy Mattresses, Can you help me?

-Arrived to 8 to 10 bags of garbage piled on top of garbage cans. -Owner did not leave information for accessing the home. We had to search for key after numerous attempts to reach owner even by VRBO. (VRBO was in the process of getting us other accommodations when we found the key.) -We found out the owner was sick and her entire team, apparently. Which is her reason for not being in contact or taking care of things quickly. -Water in the dishwasher was discovered the first day was not repaired until fourth day. -The mattresses were cheap AND uncomfortable. In the master bedroom you could feel the springs when you lay down. They had to be the cheapest you could buy. You know the ones with flowers from years ago. -The fridge did not have have an ice maker which would be ok but there were no ice trays. -The house blinds were decorative and lovely. However, you could see into with them down. -The shower in the guest bath sprayed to the wall and couldn't be straightened.

Great stay in sunny Sarasota with family

The property is as described, spacious and set up with most everythong needed for a busy family. The pool is heated and the kids loved it. Towels, linens, pool chairs, floats are included. Yes, it is an older Florida home, but it was perfectly located, clean and ideal for our vacation. Would be happy to stay there again.

Pictures don't show the Broken windows that don't lock & operate. Many updates & repairs needed!!!

This house is a remodel that was never finished. One outlet in kitchen for use of all appliances including switch for kitchen light. Very dangerous. The house was filthy & we had no vacuum, mop, etc to clean it. Had to go purchase these items since we were staying for 5 weeks. Broken headboards (unattached)on the twin beds so we couldn't put child to sleep in those.... too dangerous. One bedroom door gets stuck & you can't get out without help. Broken closet doors, dresser drawers that fallout when you try to use them. Bedroom windows won't lock for safety & some won't open. Bricks outside on ledges to keep windows closed. Filthy gutters clogged that caused a mess in pool area each time it rained. Kitchen is not stocked with any common items. Too many issues to list.

Good location, good pool, quirky place

We were very happy with our stay here, and especially enjoyed the heated screened-in pool. However, there were some small issues that made our stay a little less comfortable. One bedroom door got stuck when the door closed, essentially locking the person inside! A few windows were broken - either stuck open or stuck closed. There is not so much lighting - just basic table lamps in most rooms. (Only one lamp in the “‘master” bedroom.) In the kitchen, lights are bright but the switch is inexplicably hidden behind the (second!) microwave. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and we’re grateful for the beach chairs and umbrella in the laundry room. Location was excellent!

Perfect location

This was a really wonderful house at a reasonable price. The location is perfect and my kids loved the pool. Lots of room and very comfortable. Some areas of the home could be updated (such as mattresses, which is common at rentals) but overall our stay was wonderful. We hope to book the same home next time we visit Sarasota!
