We greatly enjoyed our Montana Rock Creek Cabin Hideaway experience! It was a nice place to gather with our adult children and their "significant others", and the dogs. The cabin was true to the photos and is very remote and peaceful. Thank you Becky for including maps of the property and great directions! While there was a small grocery store in Philipsburg, the next closest major grocery store was in Anaconda, so we planned our meals ahead of time and brought food with us. The kitchen has practically every appliance and gadget you could need, and everything is labeled so you can find it and put it back in the right place when done. It was also nice that the owners left a note saying it was okay to use some things if you needed to as they knew the store was a bit of a drive (I had forgotten vinegar so I appreciate them having some). Our son's fiance had to work remotely a couple of the days we were there, and the wifi connection worked great for her. The description of the house does recommend no small children due to the spiral staircase which we found to be true just navigating it as adults. We did put some chairs around it on the main floor so our 11 year old dog who is going blind would not fall through the openings. The upstairs did get very warm in the later part of the day, despite using the fans and closing blinds and windows during hot parts of the day (but then we were there the last week of July which had warm temps). We didn't take advantage of the firepit due to the warm weather and it being in grass, but we did use the bbq. The basket of remotes seemed a bit daunting since we weren't sure what went to which tv, but we spent most of our time fishing, going on adventures to Gem Mountain Sapphire mines, exploring the town of Philipsburg and checking out Georgetown Lake (which the kids paddle boarded on), and our last day there some of us climbed the hill behind the cabin. It was good to unplug! Mostly we spent time on the deck eating, visiting, and just relaxing which is what a vacation is for. We are truly thankful to the owners for sharing such a beautiful getaway with us! I am always happy to do what I can to leave the place as we found it and I hope we left the cabin in satisfactory condition. I would suggest posting the house rules and any "exit protocol" in the cabin somewhere. But communication with Becky seemed pretty prompt when I had questions. Overall, a memorable experience and great family time together!
