ABOUT THE RENTAL
“The Cottage Up North” is perfectly placed in a wooded setting off the beaten path, yet minutes from some of the best activities Northern Michigan has to offer. Upon entering the front door of this quaint cottage, you are welcomed with the charm of the rustic beams, the cute center staircase with an open loft, and modern furnishings. The stand around kitchen counter is perfect for setting out all your snacks and drinks to enjoy a relaxing day of games and puzzles. The main level offers one of the three bedrooms with a queen size bed and TV as well as the cute bunk area, perfect for the kids to hang out and play! There is a full bath on the main level with a tub/shower and a unique wood vanity top. The mudroom/laundry area is an ideal spot to drop all of your personal items when coming in the door or any extra items from your adventurous days. Upon taking the staircase to the loft you will find a great seating area to read a book and relax! The second and third bedrooms can be found in the upper level (one queen, one full bed) as well as a full bathroom with a walk-in tiled shower. Step out onto the deck to enjoy a drink in the slanted chairs while someone cooks up dinner on the BBQ grill and enjoy dinner at the outside dining table. End your night at the large firepit out back to start all over the next day! This cottage screams: “relaxing getaway,” “family trip,” “romantic getaway,” “adventures,” and more!

Beautiful home in the wods!

We were pleasantly surprised at how much bigger it actually was on the inside compared to how small it looked on the outside. We LOVED the rustic cabin feel of the home, and it conveniently had everything available that you might need. It was super clean and just lovely! We all loved this darling house in the woods!

Short Stay

My husband and I brought our children and grandmother to Michigan for family vacation. The cottage was a perfect fit for our needs and it was in a great location for exploring the northern half of the lower part of the state.

Nice place!

This was a great house for a bachelorette party! Nice yard for a fire and games, plenty of beds, and a good location that was a reasonable distance from lots of great places (Charlevoix, downtown Petoskey, Walloon Lake).

Perfect Up North Cottage

Cannot say enough good things..such a cute cottage! Perfect distance from where our kids were away at camp, golf, and more! Hope to be back next year.

A hidden gem

Plenty of comfy beds and clean sheets. Nice bathrooms with amenities. Kitchen is clean. Allow me to List few negative things: The microwave was set up above the fridge. We are not the tallest people and it’s unsafe! The stairs is conducive to falls. Plenty of bugs Last weekend was very humid the thermostat didn’t work for cold air. Thank you for providing desks fans it somewhat helped. Two nights we stayed the neighbors were loud. Dogs were barking. The trash bin was overflowing. But other than that the location is close to Petoskey and Mackinac Island. Almost a perfect weekend getaway. Thank you!

Winter Weekend

Great location and amazing aesthetic! It is the perfect distance to Boyne Mountain and also near Petoskey. Danielle and team were very available and handled one issue we had professionally and quickly! Would definitely book again with Vacation Properties of Northern Michigan again in the future!

Great Spot!

Stayed for a long weekend with my wife and friends. Easy access to Boyne mountain, thumb and deer lake. Had a great time!
