Located in the East End Historic District and built in 1892 The Happy House has been fully refurbished. A central location full of historic charm appointed with all the modern amenities to make your stay something to remember! Kids and adults love this fun and beautifully decorated home. The white picket fence, original louvered shutters, copper New Orleans gas lanterns and hand gilded house numbers accentuate this homes charm. Walk to top restaurants and shopping. Gorgeous brick paved courtyard with market lights and gorgeous custom copper lanterns. A perfect retreat for a weekend getaway to shop on the Strand or soak up the sun on the beach. Also available for or those needing a longer stay in Galveston we are available for month or longer bookings. So pack your bags and if you want to bring your pup bring their crate and have a very happy stay at The Happy House.

All guests and pets must be listed at time of booking so that we can prepare the home with enough supplies for your stay. $100 Pet fee is mandatory with exception of service animals.

You'll love the old hardwood floors, large historic windows and tall ceilings. The home has curtains and shades for privacy, high-speed internet, and central air/heat. A fully stocked kitchen is available in the event you would like to stay in and dine. We offer a Keurig hot/iced coffee maker along with coffee and teas. Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ are available for your enjoyment. The 55" LG TV and 43" Roku TV provides access to other popular apps available with your own login credentials.
**Pet fee is $100 for 1 dog. This covers the additional preparation of the home for your pet and the additional cleaning. A portion is donated to Galveston Humane Society.
**Cleaning fee includes bed linens and towels for every guest, as well as additional sanitizing protocols. Essential toiletries are provided as well as laundry items in case you would like to go home with clean clothes. All quilts/duvets/comforters are washed after EVERY guest!

We loved this property and the delightful host was amazing and super responsive to any questions we had. I slept in the green room bed and it was so nice and not a hard mattress! It’s located at a great spot if you want to shoot to the seawall and go to the beach or shoot the opposite way and head to the strand! Thank you for the wonderful stay and all the attentive features! The little touches all around the house are so cute and well thought of.

Fantastic property

Perfect location

From beginning to end, property owner was always in contact with us making the whole process extremely easy. The house upon arrival was clean and just a perfect little house for me, the wife and 2 teenage daughters. Location was just a perfect as it took us 10 minutes or less to get anywhere we wanted to go.

Relaxing Stay in Galveston

The house instructions were great. Upon arriving the home was nicer in person than in pictures which says a lot. It is gorgeous inside and out. We have stayed at quite a few homes over the years and this one was the BEST stocked home by far. Comfortable and clean, we can't wait to make staying here a summer family tradition.

I stayed during Halloween week and was surprised to arrive and find the house decorated for the holiday. Instant smile and definitely set the mood for the rest of the stay. The place is exactly as descried and the beds are super comfortable. The outdoor area is a plus. This is a sweet gem hidden in the historic area.

Short but Enjoyable Stay

We enjoyed our recent stay. This is a cute cottage and quite well done. Cleanliness on our arrival was very good. Communications with the owner were easy and very responsive. We found the beds to be quite comfortable and the neighborhood quiet. Enjoyed using the outdoor courtyard. Comfortable and nicely landscaped. The only downside is the cottage is a bit small and living room and kitchen seating was tight for 4 adults.

Absolutely perfect!

The house is the complete package - amazing decor, great layout, great curb appeal, and the most charming patio! It was fully stocked with everything we could possibly need from kitchen tools to snacks to beach gear to toiletries. I was a little worried about five of us using one bathroom, but it was really roomy and had lots of great storage. Also, the location is great - lots of beautiful historic homes near by and you can easily walk to great restaurants within a few blocks. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends!

Wonderful!

House is charming and beautifully decorated. The outdoor patio is peaceful and lovely. Location is in the heart of the historic strand district close to shopping and restaurants. Not only is it beautiful, It is also extremely well equipped!! From bottled water in the fridge, all the coffee supplies you need, extra toiletries, you might have forgotten, there’s even a basket of toys and puzzles for small children in the bedroom cabinet! Love this rental!

30th Birthday Trip

After a long drive into a Galveston and a full afternoon at the beach it was a pleasure to drive up to such a cozy place to stay. My siblings and I were very pleased to find such a sweet welcoming home to spend the night in. The Happy House was exactly as advertised! We planned to go back out to explore a bit but the home was just so inviting we stayed in and enjoy a night of movies. So happy we found this little gem in Galveston! So Great

We stayed during December and enjoyed walking around looking at lights, the parade and the Nutcracker at the Opera House! Everything is so close. The property is super cute and cozy with all that you need. The Christmas decor was a special touch we really loved The weather was 70 Degrees so we went to the beach and the house had all the stuff for the kids. We even rode the bikes.🎄🏠☀️

Beautiful home and a great value!

We loved our stay and will definitely be returning to this perfect little place again! The decor was lovely, cleanliness top notch, and location was ideal. Everything we needed and more was provided. The kitchen is excellently stocked with everything you need to cook delicious meals and amazing restaurants were so close by, if cooking isn’t your thing. Spotless bathroom with the thoughtful touches of toiletries provided was also much appreciated. Relaxing in the patio area at night with the soft lighting of the lanterns was dreamy and felt very private. The neighborhood was calm and quiet, making us feel right at home. Can’t wait to come back!

Petite perfection!

This sweet house is amazing. It was very clean, the beds were incredibly comfortable and Sarah, the owner, has thought of every single thing a guest might need! Fresh ground coffee, toiletries, popsicles in the freezer, equipment for the beach; I could go on but needless to say, we felt very welcomed and pampered at this lovely house. The location is very convenient as well. 3 minutes by car to the Strand and 3 minutes by car in the other direction to the Seawall and Poretto Beach. We would love to book again! Thank you, Sarah!

History is just a pedal way!

The bikes provided by the host are a must! We easily pedaled to the sea wall and along it to take in the sights and read the benches (history) along the way. We easily pedaled to The Strand, Post Office Street, & Market street, just blocks away, to wander into gift shops, antiques stores, and breweries. The Bishop Palace tour was amazing. Just riding through the neighborhood was such a history lesson. The patio was a welcome sight after riding and the beds were very comfortable. The neighborhood has plenty of little places to eat. Try Skykatz for breakfast. Thank you again!

Great House with everything needed!

I stayed here with my husband and two kids. This house was a great fit for us. My kids loved having their own beds. We had plenty of space. I really appreciated all the little things that are available at the house so we didn’t have to pack them. Items very helpful to us were the beach gear (towels, wagon, chairs, umbrella, cooler, sand toys, boogie boards), laundry basket, extra ice trays, etc. The house was very clean. It looks just like the pictures. We didn’t need to contact the host much (because we had everything we needed) but she was always quick to respond. We would stay here again!

Because it is just the cutest little Victorian home on Galveston Island that makes you immediately smile when you get there. The Happy House has the perfect location for those who want to be in the middle and explore the downtown scene or the sunny beach.
My family and I have visited Galveston my entire life and finally decided to have a little place where we can be on "island time" and relax.
Galveston has everything from surfing to antique shopping. A booming food scene will make sure no one goes home hungry. We love riding our bikes around the island to soak up as much sun and sea breeze as possible.

This property has survived the 1900 Storm and Located in a National Historic Designated, the Historic East End District.
