Nothing else like it in the area, and just 10 minutes to Redding! This 5000sf lodge on 22 ACRES has 8 bedrooms, 4 full bathrooms, and is designed perfectly to host your large family/friend gathering! This modern lodge is seconds from the freeway, 5 minutes from Shasta Caverns and Shasta Lake, and a quick 55 minutes (traffic/weather depending) to Mt. Shasta for Skiing/snowboarding or other winter fun, and just 15 minutes to Bethel! The main floor features 4 distinct gathering areas, including a MASSIVE single-slab redwood table that seats 22, and beautiful pool table. The second level features 2 additional large gathering areas/living rooms, each with a big screen TV that are networked together so large groups can use both living rooms but watch the same movie! The 8 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms are all at the back of the house, beautifully decorated with themes of the surrounding area, including lakes, mountains, forests, and outdoor adventures and fun! The Gathering Place at Shasta Lake is perfect for your next group gathering…. you won’t want to leave! Except, of course, to spend time on the Lake, the Mountains, or area attractions!
No events/weddings. Perfect for things like reunions, large family/friend gatherings, church groups, etc.
We do have a Ring Doorbell at the front door and Ring Security camera at the back door, when activated can record audio/video

Family stay

We had a family get together and the home perfectly met our needs. It is a lovely home and great for congregating. Several areas for getting together in different groups.

Great for a retreat

This house worked great for our staff retreat. It was close to Bethel, where we attended a conference. The house had large gathering areas, and plenty of bedrooms.

Works well with Adults & kids

Despise some malfunctioning hardware (fan & lights & A/C) this stay was a blast. Lots of room for our 9 littles, plus 13 adults! Lots of space for everyone & that table was really perfect!! We had a great time on the lake for a day renting a pontoon boat at Holiday Harbor (so close!) and going to Shasta Caverns the other day. This house is perfectly named, it is a fantastic “gathering place”.

Christmas Cabin

Rented for a week to spend Christmas with family. Beautiful home with ample space. The owners were awesome and went above and beyond when we had an issue.

Family and friends reunion

Fabulous layout of house facilitates small groups and large groups to visit and catch up. Also, the floor plan is comfortable for large groups to stay overnight and enjoy one another. We were able to fix many meals and enjoy them together as one large group and make very special memories. We look forward to scheduling another family vacation at this property.

It was wonderful experience staying at this property. Perfect for family with kids. Our kids loved it !!! so did adults 😁😁. We wished we could stay another night. only thing we missed was the christmas tree 😪😪

Beautiful House, Great Host!

The house itself is beautiful with a great, open layout for large groups to have enough space for everyone (group of 30+) while still feeling connected. The host was excellent with communication and was very helpful during the reservation process and throughout our entire stay. 10/10 would recommend.

Aimee and Andrew were very kind and considerate hosts. They were very communicative and were always happy to help make our stay as comfortable as possible. This home was new, clean, and in great shape. I appreciate their customer service and would most definitely be interested in returning for another stay at The Gathering Place.

Great for family reunion!

Description does not do this place justice! Third floor is specifically geared towards kids with big nets to play on and multiple beds. We had a family reunion with 27 people and it accommodated us no problem. Super close to Shasta caverns and multiple marinas and 15 minutes from Redmond. Great kitchen with all the amenities. Would have been nice to have additional fans for additional air flow in the home with so many bodies but besides that it was a wonderful place. They also had multiple barbecues and ample storage for recycling and trash.

Family Reunion

This place is amazing and delightfully surprising because it is so unique. We had adults and children of all ages and everyone found a place to have fun whether it was playing pool, foosball or finding a quiet corner to read a book. There are nets on the second and third floors that spread like very sturdy hammocks across spaces. We have a lot of Spider Man fans in our family and they were in 7th heaven as they struck poses or danced across these nets. We didn't see photos of the kitchen in the listing but it was big enough to cook for a crowd. We could have used a second refrigerator, but the large cooler in another room did the trick. There are so many things to do in the area! We enjoyed Shasta Caverns that are just down the road. If you stay, don't miss the incredible waterfalls like Burney and McCloud! This was a very memorable stay for us and we would highly recommend staying here! The home is well maintained and was immaculately clean!

Great large group rental!

My only reluctance in giving this place a good review is that it may not be available for our next group gathering. We were an all adult group but this place would be great for kids and multiple family units. The heart of the place is the massive slab table where we could sit everyone in our group for meals. Tons of room for everybody be and the pictures don't show the top floor loft with 4 beds and netted lounging area that would be awesome for kids. Cell reception is not great which is typical in mountainous country but conveniently you can go about 200 feet down the driveway and call your boss and let them know you won't be reachable for the rest of your vacation. The internet was down during our stay apparently due to the antenna being knocked loose during the heavy storms going on during our trip - manager was notified and is having it repaired. Altogether 10/10, this place is peerless in terms of large group gathering places where everybody gets a real bed to sleep on and not some funky couch being called a bed.

Great venue

This property was excellent for our family birthday party. Plenty of rooms, beds, etc. for all. CONS: No internet! Caused a few college students a problem. No phone connection! Caused some to not be able to contact home. We had a moth infestation so bad we couldn’t go outside. If you quickly opened and shut the door, you would have 10-20 moths rush in to the house. The electrical plugs in the kitchen and on main floor were dead. Had an electrician with us. Ran circuit breaker and GFI’s in line and all were dead. Don’t believe that you have internet or cellular from VRBO. It is inaccurate. All in all, we had a great time and the venue was perfect for a large group.

Great setup for large group gathering!

Everything about our stay was on point. Easy renting experience, property owner was very responsive with our questions, concerns and very timely with information. The home was great and had a lot of room for our group. It’s located in a nice secluded area with easy access to the freeway and the lake. The property was clean and ready when we arrived. The property does have some wear and tear with some of the furniture which could easily be fixed with a once through with a handyman but otherwise in great shape. The home was stocked with plenty of supplies for prepping food. We really enjoyed are stay and will absolutely consider renting during the summer time to enjoy the lake.

A frustrating mix of great and disappointing things

First things first: the lodge is perfect for large groups. We used it for a company retreat and it was a great space for that purpose. Some of our favorite aspects of this rental were: the large table, the multiple stories, the nets, the 75 inch TV's mounted on the wall, the comfortable living area furniture. Some things we were not fans of: when we arrived we noticed a steady water leak from the freezer half of the fridge in the kitchen. When it was opened the whole back of the freezer was leaking water and had frozen. We couldn't find the TV remotes in any normally accessible area so we looked between the cushions. Clearly this isn't a regular task performed by the cleaning crews because we found some nasty stuff there. Well, at least we found the TV remote! Left it on the sill, by the way. Most of the beds were reported to be stiff and creaky. Fortunately we didn't want our team to get too comfortable as we had business to attend to. Also, at multiple moments during the day and evening we noticed the Ring camera active. I can't confirm this (nor do I want to) but I strongly suspect the host was listening to our conversations. As this was a company retreat, we were discussing sensitive information on the patio when the ring IR sensors lit up out of nowhere. We didn't like that. Here's the thing. This is a fantastic lodge, but at over $3,000 for just two nights there was just too much to be desired. It has so much potential; with the right property development and tying up of loose ends this place is a NorCal palace. Finally, make sure you read the listing thoroughly.

Great for our large family reunion

This place worked out really well for our huge group. Lots of space to hang out inside and a just short drive to the lake to spend our days. Kitchen with two dishwashers and tons of plates and utensils was so nice to have! We usually camp so this place felt luxurious and so convenient. My only recommendations would be that it needs window coverings in the bedrooms. The coffee machine was faulty and kept overflowing. The other appliances were great. And it needs to have better knives, large cutting boards and large bowls for prepping and serving meals. We struggled with that when cooking for ~30 people and wished we’d brought some of our large serving supplies. Overall a wonderful cabin for large groups and we will be back!

Wonderful place and host

The house is beautiful and wonderful for hosting groups for students. It is located right next to the lake with places to rent boats and activities like going to the caverns. Host responds promptly to questions. Very satisfied with our stay and our group of kids raved about how cool and private the place was
