Sawkill Creek Cottage is perched on a hillside overlooking thousands of acres of protected land and the confluence of two pristine creeks.
Relax on the deck above the forested valley or splash around in the cool, clear creeks. Grab some great food or browse the shops in nearby Milford. Curl up with a book from our library or triumph in the family ping pong tournament. See the stars. Watch the birds. Breathe.
If you are looking for privacy and peace in a natural setting, your search has ended.
Our cottage is only a few minutes from the small town charm of Milford, less than two hours from New York City, and close to some of the most beautiful natural areas in all of the Poconos.
There are two queen beds, one full bed, and two twin beds.
The grounds include a small backyard with fruit trees, three babbling springs, and a thousand springtime daffodils. The front yard slopes to the confluence of the Savantine and Sawkill Creeks, two 'exceptional high value' streams that flow out of Delaware State Forest. There are short switchback walking paths that allow guests to travel the hillside down to a flat picnic area at the water's edge. The setting is relaxing and a dream for kids who like to get up close and personal with the natural world.
The cottage sports a wrap-around deck with seating and views over the creek bottom, a portion of the Delaware State Forest, and the Pinchot Experimental Forest.
Inside, the open main level includes a family room, the kitchen, dining room, and a half bathroom. There are built-in bookshelves that provide an eclectic library of books and DVDs. There is access to the wrap-around deck and the large windows make this space bright and full of light.
A cozy wood stove is next to the coffee and tea nook where two chairs provide a comfy place for a relaxing and centering start to your day. The dining table has space for 8 and the family room is setup for quality time together or facing a 60" Smart TV and a DVD player. There is a record player and a bluetooth speaker.
The kitchen is fully equipped to prepare meals for large groups. The coffee bar includes a percolator, french press, burr grinder, scale, Chemex pour-over carafe, and an electric gooseneck kettle.
Upstairs are three bedrooms and a full bathroom. The western and northern bedrooms both have queens beds. The eastern bedroom includes a twin-over-full bunk bed and an additional twin bed.
Downstairs is a recreational room set up with a full-size ping pong table, a 50" Smart TV, and an assortment of board games and puzzles. There is another full bathroom with a freestanding soaking tub.

The gravel driveway is steep. We very strongly recommend 4-wheel drive in the winter.
The proximity to three bubbling springs and the rapids of the creeks provides ideal conditions for ice to form on every surface in the winter. It can be extremely slippery so exercise caution.
Guests will access the cabin using an electronic keybox.
You'll need a car to get to Milford or to anywhere else you'd like to visit.
We do not allow Saturday check-ins or outs.
