First, the positives:
1) House is new, very clean and exactly as described in the listing details.
2) Kitchen is well stocked with everything you'll need to prepare your own meals. We were pleasantly surprised that there was an air fryer available for use as we use one at home very frequently.
3) Yes, there are a lot of stairs to reach the lake, but they appear to be relatively new and are well maintained. Not a problem for my wife and kids.
4) The home is located in a quiet cove, hardly any boat traffic to be concerned about. Nice area to enjoy a float/swim off the dock. We did not use the kayaks, but they are there for renters and with the lack of boat traffic, probably an excellent place to kayak.
One item to be aware of is that if the lake level is up, there is a chance you may have to lower your canopy when going under a bridge. We rented a boat and fortunately for us, the lake level was down so it wasn't a problem. However, even with the lake level down, we only had about a foot and a half clearance. Just something to be aware of.
Our only complaint is that the internet/tv was down for our entire stay. Normally, this wouldn't even be a problem as it's good to go "off the grid" every once in a while. But, this was college football opening weekend and we missed all the games, which was a total bummer. The property manager was excellent in responding to our repeated contact and concerns; however, we were repeatedly told that the homeowner wasn't able to be reached. IMO, If you are renting your home, you should be available 100% of the time for issues such as this (which probably could have been resolved in as little as an hour if they had to contact AT&T directly). Service was working at other homes in the area, confirmed by a conversation with a homeowner a few houses down.
