Aloha Theodore, Thank you for letting me know about your concerns - I wish you had contacted me while here on Maui - I would have been happy to bring you new beach chairs and fix the other items for you! For future guests, please note that the a/c is in the bedroom only and you can open up the lanai slider and the front door (screen door can lock) for a cross-breeze to help. It is also very important not to leave any food at all out on the counters when in the tropics. The items mentioned have all been fixed, replaced and/or cleaned. Tamara

There are often 2 sides to every story. These are actually repeat guests who did not mention the A/C their first stay and enjoyed the condo enough to book again. The ceiling fan works fine - it was on the wrong setting. I did neglect to advise the guests in advance of the dates the construction would be at my building - it's a complex wide project that has been ongoing all year - which indeed was a oversight on my part. I did immediately advise all my future guests who might be affected when I realized my mistake. Upon Kathleen's arrival (of which I granted an early check in free of charge), she immediately complained. As I never want unhappy guests, I offered a full refund. They decided to stay. The second day they also complained so I personally came over and cleaned up their lanai and again offered a full refund. The lanai was not a work area but debris did fall on the lanai during the roof replacement. Because the island was very slow, I even found a number of replacement properties. They declined a refund 3 times in total. The exact amount of days during their stay they had to contend with construction was 2 1/2 - not including the day I allowed an early check-in. I didn't feel counting that day was fair when check in time normally is 3PM and the workers stop at 4PM. At the end of their stay, they demanded more than half their money back. From my perspective, this was extortion. I considered paying them off a lower amount to prevent a review such as this but decided against it when I had offered a full refund three times and found several alternative comparable condos even in the same complex, just different building.
