Private Retreat

Great little weekend get away. The area was beautiful and serene. The host was welcoming and very accommodating. I would recommend bringing an overnight bag you can carry rather than a wheeled suitcase due to the path leading down to the door. If you need a quiet place to relax this is a great place to stay. I will definitely be staying here again.

Serene and beautiful getaway

This suite was such a lucky find, and was just as described. The locale is just beautiful and the comfy outdoor area looks out over a pretty lake. Wildlife is everywhere and we enjoyed fireflies at night, singing birds and wandering deer family! Everything inside was very clean, beautifully appointed and SO comfortable. Nancy was quick to respond to any questions. I can think of nothing that would have made our stay any better - we will definitely be back!!

Beautiful Stay

It is beautiful. Quite the hill to climb if you are out of shape, but we loved it and found ourselves relaxing and just enjoying the natural surrounding.

Outdoorsy Vacation

Me and my 2 children and 2 dogs had the best 4 days in this home! Clean, spacious, updated and fully stocked. My kids loved fishing off the dock, jumping in the lake and big bonfire at night. My dogs loved the freedom and the owners dogs were so friendly as well. We will definitely be back!!

Graduation for Doctorate

The listing did not talk about the steep hill you had to climb up and down to get to the back of the house. It was hard to carry the suitcases down this hill, and walking back up was hard. Outside the door, mosquitoes did not allow us to enjoy the view. The VRBO contact was very kind and very accommodating. An improvement would be making the path to the house easier.

Grandkids

We were in Virginia for a week to visit family. The vrbo was beautiful and definitely secluded. We were at the vrbo most of the time due to the amount of space and activities available. Nancy was an amazing host, very easy to talk, she was right on anything we needed. I would suggest a stepping path from the parking area to the backside of the house where the entrance is. It was quite a steep and long walk when carrying items down the wet hill. The vrbo was clean just not to my ocd standards. Otherwise the house was beautiful and the perfect size for what we needed.

Stay evaluation

Place is very nice with relaxing backdrop on the pond and hills. Deer walking around and pond full of fish. Had a great time relaxing after wife’s surgery and having grandson visit. If the weather was warmer it would have been really fun to enjoy. But it’s mid March so that can be iffy. Host was communicated well. Would definitely stay again.

Serene setting

Location on a peaceful lake made for a restful stay. Location is top notch. Accommodations were very comfortable. Our host made suggestions for activities and dining that helped to enhance our stay. Great VRBO

Great getaway, great place!

Great property in a beautiful location! Extremely clean and well stocked with anything you need! The host is very accommodating and has decorated the property perfectly! Nice was to spend a couple days. Would definitely return!

Perfect place

We had no issues at this place. They we friendly the place was clean and comfortable. If we were forced to come up with a complaint the bath water didnt get as hot as we would have liked but that is just preference. Nothing was wrong. This was the perfect place to stay.

Weekend Getaway w/Boys & Pups

Had a great fall getaway with my two boys (ages 10 and 15). Boys loved fishing and exploring the woods with the puppies! Nancy was a wonderful host and provided everything we needed (and more)! Highly recommend!! :)

Relaxation at it’s finest!

I brought my daughter‘s dog and came to Lynchburg for the weekend to surprise her. She is a student at liberty University. She had no clue I was in the area, but her roommate and two friends did. Nancy graciously welcome the dog as well as the college students. She went above and beyond to accommodate us and even let the girls stay late as I had to leave early in the morning after departure. She allowed us to build a fire and there were games to play and a dock sit on by the lake. I would highly recommend this property as well as its owner. 10 out of 10.!

Perfect getaway

We had a great time relaxing on the dock. We loved fishing and watching the colorful leaves fall. Our dog had a great time too . We will definitely come back!

We loved our stay here! It was very quiet and secluded. Loved the option of using the canoe and fishing poles! Nancy made the stay very easy and homey. Her communication was Lightning fast, and above and beyond. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat

Beautiful location, cozy stay, excellent communication from host

I ended up coming here myself for a few days and the pictures did not do the place justice. It is very private, clean and well stocked with everything you need. Small town girl raised in Michigan, transplanted to North Carolina for college (UNC-Chapel Hill), and relocated to Lynchburg with my family in 2006. I'm a business-minded jack of all trades (Duke Fuqua School of Business 2020) and thought this would be a fun diversion and business opportunity. This is the forever home that I've always dreamt of building, and I'd love to share it with you and your family.

Varför värden valde detta boende

This house was custom designed and built from the ground up (2013) on a piece of property that makes you feel like you have found heaven on Earth. It boasts a small carbon footprint from insulated concrete form exterior walls, geothermal radiant heat floors and water heater, solar light tubes, and LED lights. No luxury was spared in building this in-law suite for my mom, who has since purchased her own home. From the expansive, travertine master-bathroom to the chef's kitchen, you can feel the love that went into building this space.

The house is incredibly well insulated, and our goal is for you to not even realize we are under the same roof. However, if you need an ingredient for dinner or a forgotten toiletry, there is a dumbwaiter to your pantry that allows me to send things down without disrupting your stay.

I am one of those people that would rather rent a stand-alone dwelling. So I understand the desire for privacy, and I assure you that this is better. We will not be seen or heard, but if you need anything, we are just a text away.

For people who enjoy the outdoors, summer and winter activities are abundant within a 45-minute drive! This rental could be perfect for traveling health care workers, families coming to visit college fledglings, a private, romantic getaway, or for a family wanting to reconnect with each other and with nature.
