Secret Garden Bungalow is a Hidden Gem!

This was my second stay at the secret garden. Laurie is a great host and is very responsive.The location is perfect..close to great hiking, beautiful waterfalls, wineries and wonderful restaurants. The cottage is very comfortable, a nice retreat for soaking in the beauty of being surrounded by your own personal garden, relaxing on the porch and being serenaded by the sights and sounds of nature. We look forward to returning again!

What a spot on, well appointed getaway location. 30 minutes to anything and when there ear ringing quiet. We are booking for leaf change. This a great place if you need a disconnect. Great yard. Lucky for me most still blooming.

The perfect getaway!

We loved our stay at The Secret Garden Bungalow! It was close to downtown but still felt like a getaway. Very clean, great screened in porch, and the fire pit was a great place to relax in the evenings. We will definitely return!

Wonderful Anniversary Weekend!

My husband and I loved our weekend getaway to Clayton. The bungalow was exactly as listed. It’s a very cozy and comfortable place. Loved the extra touches like the local artwork, the gas fireplace, and the porch swing! We would definitely stay here again.

Downtown and Cozy

My sister and I flew in for a 50k fall race. This place was perfect for us to rest and relax afterwards. The attention to detail and cleanliness of this property made all the difference. We spent most of our time under cozy blankets on the front porch! This property is in a great location and close to the downtown strip, but still tucked away and nice and cozy.

Great little cabin in the woods

Cute home off the beaten path. Super quiet but just outside of Clayton. We rented this to raft the chatooga and it was very convenient. The house has a great screened in porch and another outdoor space for dining. The kitchen and bathrooms were spotless and well appointed. The beds were comfortable and linens were clean. We cooked quite a bit and everything we needed was there, including the condiments in the refrigerator, coffee, tea and spices that were greatly appreciated. Communication was excellent. I would definitely rent this place again.

Beautiful town, wonderful location.

Overall, we had a very nice stay. The property is clean and comfortable. The property manager did her best to see to it that we were well accomodated. VRBO apparently dropped the ball in seeing to it that we had all the check in info we needed upon our arrival. The property manager picked up where they left off and everything went smoothly after I contacted her directly. You won't be disappointed with this little gem of a house or with the town of Clayton, GA. I had no idea it was such a lovely area. I would certainly go back again and stay at this lovely home.

Beautiful, pristine bungalow close to Clayton

This bungalow may be my favorite rental ever. It was beautiful inside and out and definitely the cleanest. The garden and outdoor areas were delightful; my sister and I could have lived on the screen porch. Kitchen was very well equipped. The only thing that bothered me (a little) was there were no shades or blinds on the bedroom windows, only sheer curtains. It was just a little disconcerting for us when we were changing, but that may be just us. Otherwise, it was a wonderful weekend. (Oh yea, a hot tub in the back would really make this place perfect!)

The bungalow was cozy and charming, with all the modern amenities we needed. As a published decorator, I especially appreciated the thoughtful aesthetics and attention to detail. My husband and I have visited Clayton several times, but this trip we wanted to stay closer to downtown and we loved it! The location was perfect, just a short and easy drive into town with no steep roads, and the wide driveway made parking a breeze. Despite being so convenient, the bungalow still felt very private, nestled among tall trees with beautiful garden views. I especially loved relaxing on the porch. We would definitely love to come back and stay here again!

The Secret Garden delivers!

Lovely cottage and garden within 10 minutes of walking time to town, which has plenty of great shops, restaurants and bars. The kitchen was big! for the size house, and it was well equipped with everything we needed. Beds were comfortable, and it was nice having the 2 bedrooms with their own en suite. Favorite area was the screen porch with the most inviting nap swing and a cocktail table with rockers to talk about the days activities. Outdoor dining was a bonus. We couldn’t have been more pleased and look forward to returning to Laurie’s secret garden in the mountains. And Laurie? She was just the best; professional, responsive, and most helpful with lots of great recommendations in the area.

Our secret garden house

We first came to this home in winter and it was lovely…but the garden enticed us to come back when everything was in bloom…it did not disappoint! We enjoyed visiting and board games outside and lounged on the swing to read my book. It will not disappoint! We will be back!
