Steps from the Beach!

When you arrive you will see there is enough space to park 3 vehicles at the front of the house. Underneath the house you will see a picnic area with tables and chairs where you can enjoy a meal with the family. This will lead you to the fenced playground in the back where the kids can play safely. Also underneath the house is an outdoor, enclosed shower where you can wash the sand off your feet when returning from the beach, which is only about one minute walking distance.

You will need to walk up a flight of about 20 stairs to get to the wrap around deck area where you will be able to enjoy beautiful ocean views, as well as a soft ocean breeze. Enter the home into a roomy living room which has 2 ottoman single hide-a -beds for additional sleeping and a big screen Roku television where you can enjoy your favorite shows under your own accounts. You will also enjoy the fully equipped and updated kitchen with stainless steel appliances, including a dishwasher. As you make your way down the hall you will find the master suite has a king size bed as well as it's own bathroom and exit onto the deck. the 2nd bedroom has a queen size bed. the 3rd bedroom has 2 full size bunk beds.

Please remember that this property is on a peninsula, and is therefore surrounded by water, which means there may likely be mosquitoes, especially during summertime. We do have the property treated regularly for this but can’t guarantee that it will be mosquito free.

Good but....

The place over was nice and walking distance from the beach. Down sides..... there was only 2 towels in each bath room. The dryer did not work, which is not good when traveling with kids. The agte latch on the deck was broke

All the dishes was dirty, the bbq pit utensils had black mold on them, bugs on the dishes and draws. Other than that it was a great stay, we liked the view of the beach.

Weekend Trip!

We enjoyed our stay overall. The upstairs porch is large with a nice view of the water and lots of chairs. We brought a rolling cart to haul our stuff to the beach - which is only about 3 houses down. I liked that there was a gated area downstairs and a gate at the top of the stairs so that my dog didn’t have to be on a leash the whole time. We didn’t really sit down there, but the space below the house is pretty large. Several tables with chairs as well as a bar area to set up a nice spread. Be sure and bring anything that you might need for cooking. Also the grill was rusty so if you plan to use it, be sure and bring tinfoil. And the house is currently for sale if anyone’s looking for a rental!

Walking distance to beach

This house was perfect for a last min one night stay with my family during the kids fall break. Easy walk to the beach with a great view! We will be back. Owners were quick to respond and access to the property was easy. Great parking. Kids loved the swing set.

Enjoyed my stay

This property was exactly what I wanted in the price range and location that I wanted. The fenced in yard was perfect for my lil pup that stayed with us. Loved the outdoor space with ample seating.

Great getaway!

The location and proximity to the beach was great. Great views from the deck. The fenced yard was a nice benefit with my 2 small dogs coming along.

Great proximity to beach

The unit was a short walk from the beach, with an ocean view. It was clean and well stocked with towels. The beds were comfortable, and the owner was very responsive to any questions. We would definitely return.

Great views!!

This was our first non beach front house. Views were fantastic! We could tell this was an investment property due to the lack of kitchen utensils/ware. There was no spatula, whisk.. etc.. Ants were in the living room when we got there, they didn’t bother us much but no ant spray. Our power was out for about 10 hours. The lantern was a charging one but we made it work!

It was great property except for the mosquitoes

We enjoyed the property inside. However, we were unable to enjoy the deck or the wonderful downstairs outdoors. We were unable to cook out, or enjoy a sunset, sunrise with coffee without being torn up by mosquitoes. We use 8 cans, 4 bracelets and 3 Citronella candles; and those creatures were not fazed by the scents. We will have to return in the winter time. Great location, nice property but nature had other plans.

Great location! I will say the kitchen was a bit lacking for supplies. The blender didn’t work and there were no spatulas or toaster. The toilet in the hall bath was broken but Al got someone out to fix it quickly. The fridge door was broken too, not a huge deal other than it being a pain to close every time we opened. The location was perfect, we rented a golf cart, and although not necessary, it was wonderful to have with 3 kiddos. I gave it overall a three bc the cleanliness could have been better as the windows were rather dirty! If you’re looking for a spot within a few minutes walk to the beach, this is it!

Gillade: Incheckning och plats

2 Family Vaca

We were very excited to arrive for our annual Framily Vacation. We had an issue accessing the checkin information via VRBO site (I believe due to a VRBO issue) but I was able to text the owner and receive the checkin info quick. The house is located what I would call 2.5 row, but very close to HWY 87, you can definitely hear road noise while outside but not something that was bothersome to our group. The downstairs parking area was nice and clean, coming with 2 tables/chairs, plenty of bar space and stools. Upstairs the deck area had seating for ~ 6, including 2 child size chairs, and loungers. One of the loungers looked like it might need a little TLC, as it had a bit of a lean. The door stop on the top gate was loose, I’m sure it’s a quick fix so I let the owner know. The inside of the home could use a little TLC- there were several areas with scrapes, gouges and areas in need of paint touchup- etc. The bunk room walls and door framing have seen some better days. It should be noted this is cosmetic damage and nothing that altered the ability to use the home or beds. The living area was missing one of the orange hideabed cots, so only one was available. The kitchen was missing some basic essentials- no toaster, no beaters for the mixer, lots of lids without bowls. A good inventory is needed in the kitchen to make sure it is equipped as described. No mosquitos was a plus! I would suggest a book with guidance on trash days, check out info, etc.

Great Stay Close to the Beach - Perfect for Family and Dogs

We really enjoyed our mini 4 night vacation at this rental on Crystal Beach. The rental was CLEAN, easy to access, well appointed and a perfect cozy spot for my family and our 2 dogs. It is a very short walk down to the beach, but there is also car access here, and we took advantage of both. I was afraid, given it was Spring Break, we would have A LOT of traffic using the road to cut through to the beach, but all of the Spring Break crowd stayed down towards the Zoo, and it was a non issue. The house itself is comfy and well appointed. The kitchen has your basic necessities, stainless steel pots and pans, non-stick electric griddle, and standard drip coffee maker, which got a workout thanks to some unseasonably cold and windy weather. We couldn't find a can opener, so we donated one courtesy of "The Big Store". Despite the weather we also took advantage of the spacious entertaining area below the house. We set up a traveling gas heater and warmed up the area and even sat around the fire together and had one of our meals down there...and that with a rather rambunctious north wind howling across the peninsula. The old offset smoker that was already on premises has definitely seen better days....beach houses and iron grills don't seem to have lasting relationships. I give a overall five star rating, but I think it is important to make note that this is a very narrow part of Bolivar, and as a result, you are fairly close to Hwy 87. The road noise is definitely noticeable when you are downstairs, but considerably less so when you are inside the house. Also, the beach is quite narrow to the dunes in this area (thanks Ike). About 1/2 of of the days we were there, the beach was covered by unusually high spring tides and largely unaccessible from this drive-in point. The waves were essentially lapping the foot of the dunes, and I chose not to drive on it that day, despite having a 4 wheel drive vehicle. I might also point out that there is not an area below the house to secure any belongings that you do not wish to leave unattended. I carry surf fishing tackle with me and chose to lock up my rods and reels and tackle bags inside my truck vs carry it up the stairs each day, problem solved. The only suggestion I have for the house is to upgrade to some heavier blinds, to better darken the bedrooms and muffle what little of the road noise remains there. I want to give this rental another go during warmer months, and the dogs agree.
