Beachfront Beauty on Northern Pond

Who builds a house during a pandemic?!? We did! It was a challenging year navigating unprecedented cost of materials and delayed deliveries, but we are now welcoming you to be our guests and enjoy the fruits of our labor.

Features:
3 stories plus spectacular rooftop deck with a 360 degree view of the Pamlico Sound and Ocracoke Village.
Beachfront with use of 2 kayaks on Northern Pond - the perfect swimming hole.
Covered parking under house plus large parking pad for extra vehicles.
Cargo lift from ground to each floor. Security camera protection at ground level entrance.
Custom details, stained glass windows, tiled baths, granite countertop and comfortable brand new furniture.

1st floor includes a spacious screened entry porch and outdoor shower, foyer, laundry room, 2 bedrooms with queen beds and a full bath with tub/shower.

2nd floor includes open concept living room, dining room and kitchen with pantry and half bath plus a large deck with view of the Pamlico Sound.

3rd floor includes a large suite with spa room, walk in shower and soaking tub, and private deck with the same wonderful water view. Plus there is another 1/2 bath and cozy den for movie night, bunk beds and access to the spiral staircase to the roof.

Rooftop includes a deck with seating for sun bathing and star gazing.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful waterfront home in Ocracoke! The house was spotless on arrival, and the design and dĂ©cor made it feel both stylish and incredibly comfortable. The owners clearly thought of everything—there were plenty of amenities, and we had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway.The best part was the view: stunning sound-front scenery from every deck. Whether we were drinking coffee in the morning or watching the sunset in the evening, the peaceful waterfront backdrop made every moment special.We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend this home to anyone looking for a serene and well-appointed place to enjoy Ocracoke!

First, Kathy and Bob were so wonderful to deal with especially during the Hurricane Erin dilemma.The house and property are top notch. Loved the layout and the decor...so well thought out. The rooftop was amazing any time of day and especially at night.Never stayed at a house that had a cargo lift ...such a bonus!!Any property of the Phillips' will not disappoint.

Wonderful property with excellent amenities. Great access to pond area was great for kids. Short walk to a tram stop allowed the older kids to wander independently.

We had an amazing time at The Tide is Turning! The home is so well appointed and you can tell that a lot of thought went into the original design. Access to the beach, kayaks and the top sitting porch are just icing on the cake. Our host was super responsive to questions and really friendly throughout the reservation process and our stay. We were already talking together as a family about returning to this same property in the future. If you haven't been to Ocracoke before, it is also a treat. Most of the island can be accessed by bicycle or walking. The beaches require a very short drive, but they are beautiful. Some beaches allow driving onto the shore, which is really convenient. All in all, we considered this a perfect trip! Many thanks to our hosts for allowing us to enjoy their beautiful home for a week! It was a wonderful week!

Turning Tide VaKay

We arrived to a clean cottage, with a wonderful kitchen and eating , relaxing space. We enjoyed watching shooting stars ,star gazing from the roof. We floated in the little bay and kayaked in the sound . When we weren't at the cottage we were wandering the little shops and made sure we stopped at the Sweet Treat for Truffles and the coffee shop for our lattes, and of course Zillies to see what random items they had.

Thankgiving at Ocracoke

Wonderful Thanksgiving family gathering at the most beautiful house overlooking the Pamlico Sound. The house was beautifully decorated with all the amenities we needed. The children loved viewing the stars on the roof deck. Their first experience in seeing such a dark sky. The host was very responsive to any inquiries we had. Ocracoke is a very special place. Our first trip to Ocracoke was the year we met in 1981. We fell in love with each other and the island, never thinking we would someday own a home with the dream of someday living there. Currently working in Raleigh with 2 kids recently out of college, we escape in either direction - to the island and to the NC mountains (check out our Blowing Rock listings #486190 and #1182504.). We look for folks who also share an appreciation of Ocracoke and would enjoy staying in an island home on a sandy beach that captures times past. Our hope is that you will feel part of this community.
