Mountain Getaway

Beautiful house lovely surroundings. Close to Bryson City for the Polar Express! Would definitely stay here again.

Family get away. Family drove in from West Virginia to meet us to visit. It was so much fun.

House was perfect! Plenty of space. Nice rooms. Beautiful kitchen. Fun game room. Loved the outdoor spaces. Wish we owned this home. Our family hated to leave. Thank you for vacation! 😊

Family reunion

We had a family reunion on Saturday and there were 20 of us and the house was large enough we didn’t feel like we were sitting on top of each other. Before we arrived I had gotten permission for the entire family could meet and have a cookout at their house. The owners were very gracious to allow us. My immediate family talked about renting it again hopefully soon.

The Perfect Cabin for a Large Family

We loved Deer Creek Lodge. It is spacious, has amazing views, and is beautifully decorated. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. We did not do any cooking, but the kitchen is well equipped. The entire family, 12 of us, enjoyed the pool table, ping pong table and trunk of other games. We just did not have time to use all the many amenities on site. It was easy to access, yet private. It is minutes from a grocery store, restaurants and the Polar Express. We are planning a trip to Cherokee in the future and will rent this cabin again

Bryson city NC

Great home, loved the pool table and hot tub. Dish washer did not work, but we washed by hand. Darts need to be replaced, had 1 dart. Other than that we really enjoyed the stay, and would do it again in the future.

Beautiful scenery, house little outdated in bathrooms/carpet

Overall the house was nice and in a wooded area. It was a large house with many different rooms downstairs to enjoy. The only negative aspect was the cleanliness. We had the upstairs bedroom and the carpets were stained, bathrooms outdated with mildew near caulk, and spider webs up in the windows. The worse part was there were popcorn kernels and someones sock in the living room that were not ours, so we knew the living room wasn't cleaned too well and it made us question everything.

Overall we were all very happy with the cabin. We only had a few minor complaints, none that would keep us from returning. The oven never came out of preheat mode when we tried to use it. We waited 30 minutes the first time we tried to use it, then gave up and put our food in.Out of all the lids and pans we found, very few matched in size. The driveway was very washed out. Even in my wife's awd suv, getting off the road into the driveway took a very specific approach and a certain amount of speed. A culvert would go a long way in improving accessibility.

Not listening truly ripped off

The listing didn’t say that the A/C wasn’t in the house. We had no A/C temperature over 95 degrees. The window in the cabin didn’t have any window screens. Thermostat on the wall did nothing. Light switches all throughout the house wouldn’t control anything. May older parents had trouble staying with us. The manager was looking into the listing but never heard anything from them again.

When you first drive up, the place doesn't look like much. But then you get out of your vehicle & here the creek burbling away & you walk inside & it's really nice in there!! Lots of room, 2 really large master suites & a room with bunk beds & another with 2 beds. We spent quite a bit of time in the hot tub & around the pool table. You mite need to take a run at the driveway, we did the first time, then we learned to keep up our speed & not slow down, lol. The internet was fine unless we wanted to stream from our own phones on the Smart TV. The kitchen was pretty well stocked, plenty of towels, games & dvds. The only things we would change would be a couch in the game room, we had to collect chairs from other rooms. Also the cushions on the wicker rockers need to be updated, they weren't clean. (we turned them around to hide the stains) The upstairs master suite needs curtains or blinds, one window has a blind that doesn't work & the other has none. 2 chairs in the ground floor master bedroom have legs off. Also we cudnt find the spot with the fire pit & chairs u see in the listing, just a rusty fire ring. Having said all that, we would definitely stay here again, we left with a good feeling about our stay, the place is cozy!

Great location. Spacious cabin could definitely accommodate more people. Alert: no internet.

The communication before and arriving was great. The heater was not connected but thankfully they had space heaters. HughesNet did not work for anyone. We called several times but got no real help. This was the worst that happened. The cabin overall seemed clean but the floors in the kitchen were dirty. But it is a spacious cabin with lots of room for a large gathering. The minimalist style is refreshing while on vacation although bedside lamps and a few more amenities (an iron, toaster) would be nice. There are oh so many lights switches and most unmarked and some hidden. Only one gas fireplace had a remote to work. And there were six thermostats on the main floor and only one was current—very confusing to say the least. They sent maintenance but the gas to the new heater had not been hooked up but thankfully there were some portable space heaters that did a great job. Upstairs still had electrical central heat. Just a few nit noid things they need to work on but the cabin is in a great location, loved the fire pit, a fantastic eating deck area and a large farmhouse table that sat all 12 of us. Plenty of parking and easy access. I sincerely hope y’all work on all those switches and thermostats because we would love to come back.
