Mountaintop paradise

Wonderful property with ample space for our family of four. The views from the back deck are stunning at sunrise and sunset. The arcade game provided hours of entertainment for parents and kids. The firepit was so fun and gave us many new memories. Something to consider when booking is the time of year... Apparently mid-spring is when carpenter bees are active and can be a nuisance when trying to enjoy outdoor spaces during the day. But I don't think that's specific to this property, I think it's regional. Overall, our family had an amazing time and would definitely come here again.

It was a wonderful stay and hard to leave this cozy cabin. The outdoor space was amazing for small kids to play safely. The views were amazing! I loved how close to Blue Ridge it was!

Family Time

We spent the weekend with our two grown children and their partners. This cabin worked out great for us. Each of us had our own space at night. Each of the three floors has a bedroom and bath. There was plenty of room for the seven of us. Yet it was still very cozy with a feeling of home.. The kitchen was very well stocked. There was so much to do at the cabin. We wished we had booked a few more days. The cabin was not very far from downtown Blue Ridge. We enjoyed spending the day there visiting all of the unique shops and restaurants. We will definitely be coming back.

Thanksgiving with Amazing Views!

We had a fantastic stay here at Thanksgiving, 2024. We enjoyed some of the best views we've had in Blue Ridge and great amenities. We loved the cornhole, horse shoes and fire pit and enjoyed exploring the area with our dogs. Overall great trip to a great cabin and the owners were super helpful throughout the booking and stay.

Beautiful Home with a Wonderful View

We loved the views of the mountains! The home had many amenities. We brought extra items but did not wind up using them. The home was pretty clean in the most used areas, but probably needs a deep clean soon. We rewashed dishes with dust on them before we used them. The outdoor speakers do not work. Our friend had the app and did all necessary steps, but to no avail. We noticed others in the guest book had the same problem. We also had a flying insect problem (stinkbugs) in the upper 2 areas. I'm sure these are common in the woods but they don't feel good when they are landing on you. I removed about a dozen during the stay. I only noticed 1 in the lower area. The problem got worse when we ran the gas fireplace. They seemed drawn to the warmth of the room. We did love the privacy and serenity of the property. The drive up was a little steep and hard on the vehicle in a couple of areas, but some of that is to be expected with a wonderful view. Thanks so much for sharing your property with us!

Perfect mountain home

We spent the weekend with our 2 sons and their wives. This home fit the 6 of us perfect. Each had their own bathroom and bedroom. The accommodations were great. Hot tub was perfect. The boys enjoyed cornhole and horseshoes. The evenings were nice around the poker table playing games.

2024 Family Vacation

Wow, what a beautiful home and property. The views are absolutely amazing. This owner makes sure there are plenty of activities for all ages. The cabin is clean and well equipped. I would suggest either new pillows or bring your own to ensure you have what you like. The drive up to the cabin the first time is a bit scary, but after a few times you will be a pro. It is just a steep incline, but worth it for those views! Would definitely recommend, especially for a family traveling with adult kids or friends as the three bedrooms are all on separate levels with their own bathrooms. The hot tub in the early evening was simply amazing to relax and enjoy the view. We did see some deer on the property, but no bears ☹️. We also enjoyed hiking, rafting, golfing and shopping! Thank you Dave for an amazing place for our 2024 Family trip.

Relaxing and Beautiful

We just finished a wonderful few days stay at the Mountaintop Getaway and it was wonderful. The cabin was just as described. The view is outstanding and there are many different vantage points in which to take in the view. I spent every morning sitting on the deck drinking my coffee and it was so peaceful to lidten to the birds and sounds of nature while taking in the beautiful view. We were a group of 4 adults and 2 children ages 7 and 11. The cabin was the perfect size for the 6 of us and the children were very entertained between games, books, dvds, puzzles, cornhole, and horseshoes. It is very quite around the cabin and we saw a few deer including a very newborn fawn and some turkeys. We did some very light cooking and had everything we needed appliance wise. I appreciated how there was a guide on the two main floors telling us how to operate everything and all the lights were labeled. We did not use the hot tub but it looks nice and clean and has its own gazebo. Be warned if you are a light sleeper, bring a sound machine or earplugs, this is a wood cabin so there is some noise if people get up and move in the middle of the night but it's not a lot and part of the charm! The owners have really thought of everything and were very responsive to my questions and needs. I have no doubt that we will be back to stay again!

This cabin is a hidden gem.

This property was well kept. Kitchen was much better stocked than other kitchens of rental locations I’ve stayed for vacation, which is important to me because breakfast in is an almost daily occurrence due to everyone waking at different times. The grill was nice, fire places worked well, linens well stocked, plenty of televisions, gaming systems, board games, etc. The hot tub, gazebo, and fire pit were great. We saw tons of wild life, including a lizard and frog whom I am sure are permanent residents as we seen them both multiple nights and they were well fed. 😂. We had a party of 8 (5 adults, a teen, tween, and toddler) and there was plenty of enough space on the 3 floors for all of us to separate and do our own thing with our different sleep schedules and different interests. Parking was adequate for our 3 vehicles. Views were phenomenal. The location is both convenient and secluded. In 15 minutes you are in downtown Blue Ridge or McCaysville either one. We could have easily had a staycation in the cabin and never ventured out and never became bored at all. We did spend several days doing activities and all were good. We rented a boat on the marina, blueberry picking Mercier orchards, did trails at both Cherokee national forest and Amicolola falls, Blue Ridge railway, swimming at Morganton, and ate at Ferraro, Black Sheep, Twisted Tomato, The Rum Cake lady, Mountain mommas, and Smokin Es. One piece of advise is plan to eat out early, everything does close early (8-10p).

Throughout the year, our family has enjoyed vacationing because of the abundance of recreational activities like rafting, fishing, boating, and hiking. After an exhaustive, one-year search we finally found the one. In 2002, we purchased the premium, private, secluded lot that sits on top of Sunrock Mountain. We subsequently brought in a master craftsman to build a truly custom cabin. We tried to spare no detail in furnishing the interior with upscale lodge rustic décor. The close proximity to the city of Blue Ridge and nearby recreational activities was an added bonus. Located just 75 miles from Atlanta, it is easy to see why Blue Ridge has become such a popular North Georgia travel destination.

Of course, you are allowed to simply “chill out” and escape city life by taking a nap in the hammock, enjoying the fresh mountain air on a rocking chair, or walking down a nature trail.

The cabin was professionally decorated with high-end furnishings and lots of attention was paid to details. The cabin went through extensive renovations in May, 2021. Pets are welcome (3 maximum). No smoking is allowed.
