Welcome to the perfect home base for your next Outer Banks beach vacation, this charming, updated home just a few blocks from the sandy shore. The fully enclosed back yard is perfect for those traveling with kids or dogs, and the front porch is the perfect perch for morning coffee – thanks to the Keurig in the kitchen – or evening cocktails. Inside, you’ll find an open layout, new flooring, and fresh white walls, making the space feel light and airy. The open kitchen features a full suite of appliances and plenty of counter space for the chef to make magic, and the dishwasher makes cleanup a breeze.

When it’s time to head out, grab the toys, boogie boards, beach blanket, and sun shade from the storage area downstairs and pop them in the provided beach wagon to make getting them to the sand all the easier. If you want to explore on two wheels, there are three beach cruisers and a bike trailer for kids available as well. When you return, the outdoor shower is perfect for rinsing off the sand. Relax downstairs on the screened-in patio or grab a spot on the couch while you relax in the central AC. Step back out onto the deck after dinner to enjoy the breeze and plan for the next perfect beach day tomorrow.

Perfect Family Spot Near All the Fun

The home was beautiful and fully equipped with everything we could ask for—games, bikes, local passes, and great instructions. It was spotless and centrally located, making it easy to explore Kill Devil Hills and nearby attractions. We had a great time as a family, and while we noticed a small paint issue by the master’s bathroom and the WiFi could be a bit faster, those were tiny things compared to how great the rest of the stay was.

Cute house but dirty.

The house was adorable and would be amazing with someone actually managing the property and cleaning it. Everything was dirty, there was pet hair everywhere, stains on couches, floors never mopped, broken toilet seats, chewed up blankets, ants everywhere, lights didn’t work downstairs. I can tell the actual homeowners put time and effort making the house cute but it’s not being upkept at all.

Great Get away

House was beautiful. Awesome big back yard our dog loved. Boys enjoyed the bikes and biking around the neighborhood. Very quiet neighborhood and close to the beach.

Walking distance to both sides of the beach

It was great location close to the sound and a quick drive to the ocean side.Only issue is somehow complaints about sound one day when we were all relaxing watching tv. Didnt make much sense, so we kept windows closed the rest of the trip

Hidden Gem for Dog Parents

This place is an amazing place to stay especially when you have your fur babies with you. The house was lovely and the fenced backyard was amazing.

Average home / great service - read review

We loved the Outer Banks and KDH is a great central location to stay. The home owners communicate well and were transparent with a couple things and stepped in to make the stay accommodating. The AC was malfunctioning during a very hot holiday week, but they got it taken care of. The trash wasn’t taken out but they got it taken care of. Also, lots of ants, which is tough to manage but they tried. Upon arrival the home managed by Vacasa could have been cleaner. The lights in the garage/outdoor shower area didn’t work and the basement with beach gear and laundry was a mess. The yard was pretty much all sand/dirt and loaded with fire ants so our lab wasn’t super keen on being out there. Crossing the main highway made it challenging to walk to the beach so with the free parking we drove daily. It’s a beach house with everything you need with no thrills but it got the job done for a great week on OBX. A couple or double date without kids may enjoy this property more. It’s definitely worth a look for your stay but do your homework on the area first. Overall, we left happy and with great tans and tried numerous cool spots through the area! Thanks !

Girlfriends trip!

What a great house for the 4 of us to spend a few days in the Outer Banks! The location was perfect. Easy to tour both north and south ends of the islands! We will be back to this location again someday.

Comfortable beach house

We greatly enjoyed our visit. Home is clean and comfortable. Proximity to beach access and restaurants is a plus. This is our second visit to this beach house. We will surely be back again.

Home away from home

This was my first time using VRBO and It was an excellent experience The home was easy to get to. It was close to everything it was clean. It was pet friendly open space was great. We, just didn't want to leave when it was time to go. Really, enjoyed our stay.

Great stay with dog!

Did a super short stay and really enjoyed the house. The fenced in backyard was a huge thing for us with our dog. Beds were very comfortable and we enjoyed our coffee on the porch. Easy access to the main highway and a very short drive to the beach. Would stay here again!

Beautiful Stay in a Great Area!

Absolutely fantastic stay at Offshore Winds! Their home was so welcoming and had a great “homey” vibe. We didn’t feel like we were staying at someone else’s place. It felt like ours! They gave us plenty of towels and extra small amenities (like dish soap/sponge/dish and washer pods.) Very close to anything you could ask for - restaurants, coffee, gas stations, and BEACHES! I’d recommend this place to anyone and am excited to return!

Weekend Getaway

This home was perfect for our long weekend getaway. I really appreciated the available beach items (toys, chairs, boogie boards, wagon) so we didn't need to take up car space bringing those! The house is on the soundside but there is a public beach access with parking 2 streets over on Hayman which makes it easy to get to the beach. Definitely recommend riding the bikes on the path by the sound for a relaxing evening activity!

Great Place To Stay

We enjoyed our stay. The accommodations were very nice. It was myself, my husband, and our dog. It is nice for a couple or small family. The fenced in yard was great for our dog. They have a large washer/dryer, a lot of beach gear to use, an outdoor shower, large deck that we loved to sit out on, plenty of parking. The area was very quiet but also very close to restaurants and retail. Since we were there after Labor Day we were easily able to park next to the beach on Hayman Dr. You can walk to the beach in about 10 minutes (they do provide a new beach wagon - walk to the light at Helga to cross). We read the owners book they provided and went to a lot of the suggested restaurants - there are so many good restaurants!

Cozy weekend getaway

We planned a weekend get away, but the weather was not on our side. Luckily, this cozy home was the perfect escape from the weather. We snuggled up on the couch and binged shows/movies, caught up on laundry & enjoyed the swing downstairs as the storm blew in. Such a cute & cozy spot. Great location as well. Check out chili peppers for a fun time.

Nice stay!

Overall very pleased with the home. The proximity to everything is great. The street/neighborhood was quiet. The fenced in yard was very nice for the dog (and the kids). No need for the beach accessories since we were there in November but providing them was a nice touch. Kitchen was efficient with supplies. Would stay here again.

Home away from home in OBX

We loved this home. It was clean, plenty of space and perfect distance to the beach. We used hayman entrance for the beach and it was not crowded, had showers to rinse. About half of the beach gear was not usable due to broken chairs and boogie boards but still enough there to use including an awesome sandbag tent to have some shade. The outside shower is a great concept but should have the shower head replaced. There’s a lot of noise from the neighbors to the right so sound machines in the bedrooms would be really helpful at drowning that out. All in all, would recommend and we will book again next time we go to OBX.

Bad communication and dirty

The rental was very dirty. Poop stains in the toilet. Bugs. Human hair all over the place. The dishwasher was full of dishes and bugs. The company VaCasa was extremely difficult to get a hold of. Many texts and 5 phone calls later they called the following day and still was not helpful. The location was in a great spot and after it was cleaned we had a good stay

October Stay

The house was what we expected. It is a great location and very functional. The weird part was that one of the bedrooms was locked. So while we paid for the entire house, we were in fact prevented from using the entire house. Also, all of the blankets were downstairs in the laundry room. We didn't know this until after two nights of cold.

Property needs a few small repairs and so bug control. The ease of contacting the property manager was great. However no one contacted us letting us know when the repairman was coming.

Clean, met our needs!

Me and my buddy came to ride our motorcycles up and down OBX. So it was a great location, great place for our bikes. Really only there in evenings to sleep and watch tv. That being said, the description says two baths, it’s 1 1/2 baths. Master bedroom had a nice bed. Second bedroom bunk beds, third a full size, the third bedroom had no box spring under mattress, made bed very uncomfortable. In fact I slept on the couch it was more comfortable. Kitchen was well equipped. And overall was a acceptable for our needs.
