Welcome to the Carriage House: a beautiful studio apartment nestled in the mountains of Montreat, walkable to miles of hiking trails. Private w/ its own hot tub, deck, gas grill, fire pit, & beautiful views.

This studio apartment is located over the owner's well-sound-proofed garage with its own entrance, separate from other residents. This space shares a driveway with our other rental property, a two bedroom apartment on the ground floor called "The Getaway."

Private entrance, full kitchen w/ granite countertops, full bath, its own heating and a/c, DirecTV & Internet. 1 Queen bed.

Close to Montreat Conference Center. 10 min from breweries, restaurants. 30 min to the Biltmore house & downtown Asheville.

This is the perfect balance between peace and quiet, located minutes away from fun activities for everybody.

Nice property

Very nice property. Very nice view. I wish I could have stayed and enjoyed it more however the room was so drafty and cold we left the next morning. Was not aware the owners stayed there as well so felt like we should whisper, didn't feel very private.

We really enjoyed the area! The house is beautiful & quiet. Hot tub was clean. Towels & sheets/bedding need to be replaced.

Comfortable, quiet and secluded.

Property is as described and pictures are accurate. It was clean and well appointed, bed was comfy, hot tub was clean. The only time I ever heard sounds from the host was the garage door opener rumbled x1 while I styed for 6 nights. Otherwise it's very quiet and the forest tree frogs serenade you at night if you open the window by the bed.

Overall this place was really cute! The bed was comfy and the aesthetic was nice. The only thing was the hot tub really badly needs to be cleaned. It had an orange fungus in it so it was absolutely unusable. Everything else was great!!

Overall good experience. Location is secluded and close to popular trailheads. I had to fix plumbing issues with the toilet handle and the dishwasher, which isn’t fun and the host hasn’t responded to my message about the dishwasher. They say you don’t need to strip the sheets from the bed….I did, but don’t. Ignorance is bliss when comes to mattress stains. I would consider staying here again because of the location and the hot tub.

Get away

Originally we reserved a studio accommodation. Realizing that two flight of stairs were beyond our abilities, we decided to head back home. Dan reached out to us and offered us the first floor accommodations at no additional cost. We gladly accepted his offer and returned the following day. It was a wonderful weekend with a peaceful location with one of the greatest hot tubs. We passed the location to friends of ours. We too, will return to Montreat too.

Great location for hiking

This was a comfortable little studio apartment with a private hot tub, which was nice after a day of hiking. We love the Montreat/Black Mountain area and the fact that we could walk to some of the trails from the house. The only downside was that the listing makes it appear that the house has a view. Maybe it does in the winter when the trees are bare, but we were completely surrounded by forest. This was a big deal to my husband who had specifically looked for a place that had a view from the hot tub. To others, all the other great things about this unit might be more important. Overall, enjoyed our stay.

Great location,

We loved the serenity of the carriage house. The quiet and fresh mountain air was amazing. We mostly loved our stay and had a few gripes, so I'll start with the good. The cabin was well-decorated. Lots of nice little details: a nightlight, magazines, a basket of towels by the entrance, rocking chairs on the deck. The appliances, recliners, hot tub, and windows are of very high quality. The driveway, both gravel and concrete, was practically new and well maintained. Our 2 wheel drive Toyota could access the property without issue. The cabin is easy walking distance to Lookout Trail which ends in a STUNNING view. And Montreat the town is very cute and just down the road. There were a few potential downsides to be aware of. The bed is very soft and is right next to the refrigerator. The sound of the fridge bothered my partner, but I didn't notice. The shower has a fixed head with low water pressure and it doesn't drain well. The hot tub is so profoundly chlorinated that we didn't enjoy using it. For those concerned about the stairs, they were steeper and longer than we had expected. Overall we had a good and relaxing stay.

Clean place and pretty area!

Montreat and the property were very pretty. Unit was clean and as advertised. The hot tub was also great and worked flawlessly. Plenty to do just a short drive down into Black Mountain, or it’s a quick ride into Asheville. Uber was pretty affordable into Asheville and found the place no problem.

Sisters Getaway

We really enjoyed our weekend stay! It was a perfect little getaway spot nestled on the mountain! We enjoyed drinks in the hot tub, movies, and grilling. The kitchen has everything you need and the bed was very comfortable! We will definitely stay here again!

Wonderful Place to Stay

Quick Getaways

We traveled from Raleigh for our annual mountain getaway. The place was private, quiet and clean with everything we needed. We loved the ease of access to the trails and the hot tub at the end of the day. Highly recommend!

Relaxing getaway

My husband and I enjoyed just getting away for a few days. We felt very happy with our stay, the property was very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the trails in the area and the soak in the hot tub after! We would definitely stay here again!

Sweet treat in Montreat

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at the Carriage House. The home is beautiful and in a very gorgeous area that's very private. There are trails all around. The hot tub was great in the crisp autumn air. The kitchen is well stocked with most items you may need. But if cooking isn't in the books the house is in close proximity to some very good places to eat. One thing to consider is that there are a lot of very steep steps to get up to the house and then another bunch of steps once in the house. And definitely bring your own water in as it has an irony smell which is probably not abnormal for the area.
