Three burner gas grill with utensils. No charge for propane. Grilling area is well lit for night-time use.

Fishing available and basic fishing gear provided, but bring your own stuff if you like. No license required, live bait available nearby. We have a 10 ft. rowboat with oars, two pedal boats and two kayaks available. Life jackets provided free of charge.

Swimming is permitted, but there are no lifeguards on duty. Life jackets provided free of charge. There is a Life Ring Buoy on the dock

FIRE RING WITH FREE FIREWOOD and roasting sticks available.

There is a Blink video doorbell installed on the front door and two outside Wi-Fi cameras, one on the north end of the house, and one on the south end of the house. Both cameras are in plain view. There are no other cameras or recording devices on the property.

House is equipped with "Smart" thermostat, smart wall plugs and smart front porch light. The thermostat is set for optimum efficiency and guest comfort.

House is wired for portable generator which is on-site and can be operational within an hour, (probably sooner)

Please review our welcome guide and house rules before your arrival. Please note that we require the names and ages of all the guests in your party to be listed in the reservation, and you, as the renter, must be one of the guests and stay at our Lake House.

The County Commissioners have established a .03% "Bed Tax" for all rental properties in the county. The amount for your stay will be included in correspondence sent to you immediately after booking and again in the check-in instructions message sent approximately 2 days before your arrival.

We recommend 4 WD or AWD. The driveway is steep with a limestone surface. You can make it without 4 WD, you'll just have to get a run at it when you come out. If there is snow or ice conditions, 4 WD or AWD will be required.

Hands down, best place to stay if you need to get away from the rest of the world to relax and decompress. Everything we needed to cook was available. House is roomy and clean. It’s quiet and remote, perfect for getting away for a few days. Highly recommend and will definitely be repeat visitors.

Beautiful scenery, peaceful. Hosts are very responsive, they go above and beyond to make sure guests are happy. The fishing is fun, my dad caught a big catfish. This is our 3rd year here, already planning for a return trip next year. Home is clean and stocked with so many extras!

Had a problem with the messaging system so communication broke down (no fault of the property management) but lead to a difficult check in. The property is absolutely beautiful. House is clean and has everything you could possibly need without even having to ask. Driveway is best with true 4wd. Would definitely stay again when in the area.

Roger and Mary are great hosts! This is a relaxing, nature filled sanctuary with beautiful grounds & most amazing reflective stocked pond. Any amenity you could imagine is already there, perfectly clean & the hosts offered extra treats of bottled water & snacks. The quiet location allows you to really just sit back and enjoy nature. We celebrated Dad's 94th birthday on our visit! Roger was easy to communicate with and wanted to make sure everything was perfect during our stay. Do not pass this up!!!

It was more than I expected, It was such a beautiful place to stay and relax. We love it we enjoyed fishing, resting on the great porch watching the beautiful lake. The owner stocked the house with so many things that you don't need to bring anything except food. We plan to come back next year.

Great week of relaxation!

Spend a whole week here and hardly left the property. This house has everything you need from toys for the kids, fishing gear, tubes & water toys, bug spray (which I never really needed b/c I saw no mosquitoes and if they are around they will find me! Lol), lots of household goods, plenty of tp & paper towels, laundry soap, etc. All the pots and pans and kitchen utensils including an airfry, 2 types of coffee pots & coffee and tea. We cooked there all week and the only thing that you might want to bring are some spices otherwise just bring food, clothes and a toothbrush. Then sit back and relax on the front porch swing, my favorite place! Thanks again Roger & Mary for sharing your beautiful property, you truly have thought of everything!

Truly amazing. It is hard enough to find a handicap accessible stay but to find one with a pond right out your door is a blessing.My husband continues to tell everyone about the13.5lb catfish. In this case the fish story is true.

Nice

House was clean and loaded with amenities. Lake was clean, great for fishing and swimming. Trails behind the house were loaded with pollinators and butterflies. My 7 year old son is a nature nut, and loved every bit of it. It was a great six nights that we spent, would do it again.

Wonderful place! Very clean, comfortable and relaxing. The hosts have gone above and beyond in many ways. We enjoyed the lake, wildlife, walking trails and just hanging out on the porch. We'll be back!

Peaceful paradise

We really needed a break and a chance to unwind and Roger n Mary's place was the perfect place for it. We hiked, swam in the lake, watched the humming birds on the porch and got a good night's sleep every night. The house is lovely and accommodating and Roger n Mary are great hosts, making sure everything is right.

This hose was amazing. It was exactly what we were looking for. Very clean and well stocked. We enjoyed the pond and sitting outside the most. The hosts were easy to teach if you needed them we are very grateful for them letting us stay there.

Motor Cycle Trip

This was a great place to stay. More amenities than any other place I have been to. The only negative about the property is getting hit with an additional county tax that is not made apparent until after you book and pay. It was a small amount so it’s not a big deal but it should be included And mentioned upfront.

Wonderful Weekend Getaway!

Roger and Mary were very accommodating and great hosts. The Lake House is cute yet roomy and the lakeside setting is beautiful. They've included everything you could ever need. We highly recommend the Lake House when your travels bring you to southern Ohio.

What a wonderful place to stay!

My wife and I were in the area to speak at a local church. The Lake House was perfect for us to enjoy the tranquil setting. The accommodations were nice… even the coffee was provided. A cup of coffee and the rocking chair on the front porch was a blessed way to start our day. We will definitely keep the Lake House in mind when we are back in Ohio. Your new friends from The Smokey Mountains.

Peaceful solitude

Needing a place to decompress and rejuvenate, this is the place. Communication from the owners is thorough and helpful. House is comfortable and quiet. Amenities are all the basics you need. It’s becoming my go-to option when I need time away from stress and just want to relax. Highly recommend!!!! Check it out.

Perfect location, atmosphere and hosts

Quiet, relaxing, roomy, and homey. The house was fantastic. Everything we needed to feel like home away from home was available. We baked, cooked, and enjoyed the peace and quiet. Hunting trip

The house was beyond expectations and the owners were amazing. So many convenient items with the property. Notes throughout the house were great and items stocked like coffee, snacks and condiments was a pleasant surprise. Beds were comfortable and the smart home devices were convenient and easy to use. Pretty much perfect

Roger and Mary are great hosts. The property is un a prestine setting with a beatiful pond. Any aminity you could imagine us already there. It is in a quiet location that allows you to really just sit back and enjoy nature. Roger was easy to communicate with and wanted to make sure everything was perfect with our stay. This one is a hidden gem!

Mary & I are both retired, she from personnel administration and nursing, and me from law enforcement... and computer administration... and truck driving. We are just common, friendly, country people who put on airs for no one. We do all the maintenance and repairs on the property. We mow and trim our own grass, and maintain the walking trails.

Varför värden valde detta boende

Our Lake House sits at the head of our small lake, down in a bowl, surrounded by woods and a large lawn. We are located on a quiet, well-maintained township road that has no through traffic. There are no other houses within sight. It is peaceful, secluded and quiet here, and the air is crisp and clear. Fall colors are spectacular.

There is security lighting on all sides of the house, controlled by manual switches which are readily identified and labeled.

We have installed many "smart" accessories including interior and exterior lighting, thermostat, and door locks. We have installed external Wi Fi cameras for security monitoring. NO cameras are in use or monitored while guests are present, but we do check them occasionally for security purposes.

We have established an extensive network of hiking trails through fields and wooded areas. We mow & trim weekly during season in order to provide clean and safe walking paths. A printed map is posted on the wall near the fridge. Trails are restricted during deer season and the map will be so noted.

Nature abounds! It is very common to observe deer, wild turkeys, wild geese, rabbits, and squirrels on a daily basis. Less common are a great blue heron which frequents the lake and wild ducks on the lake. Bullfrogs and the occasional whip-poor-will are the most common evening noises you will hear.

The lake is fed by seven natural springs and the water is very clear. It is suitable for swimming, fishing and other water activities. The lake has abundant fish species through previous stockings and natural proliferation. It is common to see several varieties around the edges of the water. There are several grass carp which can be seen from time to time. A couple of them are HUGE.

We stocked additional largemouth bass, hybrid bluegill, regular bluegill, and red ear sunfish last May, and plan additional this year.
