Located just a short drive from Babe's Beach - a must-see destination for surf and sand - this lower-level home makes the perfect perch for your coastal getaway. After a day of prime-time surfing and fishing at the pier, just a mile and a half away, fire up the gas grill for a cookout and dine alfresco at the covered table. The front porch provides additional seating for cocktails and conversation.

Inside the home, you'll find a cozy living area where you can kick back with your crew and watch your favorite TV shows. Sip morning coffee at the dining table while you plan for the day. Prepare snacks for the beach in the full kitchen. Additional amenities include a high-quality water softener and high-speed WiFi to maximize guest comfort.

Things to Know
There is a step up to enter into the bathroom and another step up to reach the toilet and the sink.
The kitchenette has a refrigerator, toaster oven, microwave, sink, and dishwasher.
The backyard and the home's second level are not accessible to guests. The top floor has a permanent tenant.

Relaxing Vacation Spot

We had a great vacation stay at this location. It was close to many different activities on the island like Moody Gardens, beaches, surfing, restaurants and other outdoor activities. It was very peaceful and quiet during our stay, and it was perfect weather in March for sitting on the deck under the sun umbrella. The beds and pillows were very comfortable, and the wifi was reliable and quick. The kitchen had all of the tools and appliances we needed and everything in the kitchen was in good shape. The bathroom had a lower than ideal ceiling as a result of a raised floor for plumbing, but that was not much of inconvenience. We will definitely consider staying here again if we decide to come back to Galveston!

WOW!

WOW! Super great find in a quiet neighborhood close to everything. The owner lives on the on the second floor and is very friendly and helpful with suggestions on things to do. It was great that we could bring our dogs with us for the weekend. Can’t wait to go back.

Horrible!

I’m Not sure why this listing says “premiere host”. When we got to this house to check in, the first thing I noticed is it didn’t have the two large lounge chairs in the living room like the pictures that were provided….making it NOT sleep 6. There were roaches and random Water bottles near the love seat. My nephew killed 3 spiders and some roaches that were in one of the bedrooms. The bedding had little black nats on it. This was the worst house I’ve ever stayed at in Galveston and we come here a lot. Also, the fridge didn’t work. I messaged the host several times and never heard back. I need to speak with the manager of the company who owns this property ASAP.

Thoroughly Enjoyed our Stay at Peaceful Hideaway

It is so centrally located; minutes from miles of sandy beach, Pleasure Point, Moody Gardens, downtown, excellent restaurants, and all the Seawall attractions. The neighbourhood is quiet, allowing a good night's sleep. We never heard a noise from the tenant upstairs. Our dog loved playing frisbee in the large, fenced backyard. There is also a lovely dog park with responisble dog owners and well socialized dogs within minutes of the unit. The very clean unit was well furnished and decorated; instantly giving us the Island vibe! The beds and pillows were very comfortable. There were lots of towels and quilts too. Having a washer and dryer was a bonus! The spacious kitchen and dining area was well equipped. The replacent red refigerator/freezer worked well, with no troubles at all. We are looking forward to our next visit!

Unexpected Surprise

Communication prior to check in was a complicated process. I would send a message and have to wait 24-48 hours to get a response and when I did get a response it was not pertaining to my questions and my response was from multiple people who were not on the same page. Upon arrival my son found a dead cockroach in his room, we found baby cockroaches on the kitchen counter, the refrigerator was not working, the two chaise that was pictured in the listing was not there so my son had to sit on a bar stool since the couch sits only 2 people and there was sandy beach toys and chairs from the family before us. I put in a ticket for someone to look at the refrigerator and was told that they would try to make it right for the inconvenience but haven't heard back from anyone. The location is great, the abundance of towels was great but the inconveniences for my husband's birthday weekend, was not fun!

It wouldn’t call it a peaceful getaway…no central a/c which wasn’t awful, bedroom stayed cool at night but living room area wasn’t very cool. Our first night the refrigerator quit working, they came and fixed it the next day, but we still lost food and we’re out some money. The power went out on our last day there and the owner took forever to answer so we ended up leaving a night early. We are supposed to be reimbursed for the last night considering we left a night early. According to a maintenance man that came to the house, they house is not in code for Galveston. The location wasn’t terrible but the end of the street by the store was kind of worrisome.

Interesting Holiday Stay

There weren't any instructions beyond what was submitted via email from the property manager, Vacasa (wi-fi info, door code, and stay out of the back yard). The lack of a personal touch, as I've experienced with previous Vrbo stays, might be because of a corporation handling the stay. When I went to verify, before I could check-in, even though I'm already verified on Vrbo; it failed and I was immediately sent an email canceling my reservation. I had to call the hotline to push the verification through in order to keep my reservation. The first night was horrible. This is a downstairs unit and you can hear the upstairs people. At one point, it felt like they were intentionally stomping for almost 5 minutes after 9pm. There is a stairway that leads to the upstairs, and it's controlled on the side for the upstairs. We had a lizard in the house we had to remove. The neighborhood is sketchy. A rundown corner store a block away, shopping carts left along the block, people revving their motorcycles past 1am, and then sketchy people walking late at night past the unit. There's no central air, only portable devices and wall units in the living room and back room for heat or AC. The blinds, in the back room, are broken. The bed is an iron frame and is noisy getting in and out. It's not comfortable. The toilet and sink are on this random step up platform, no outlets in the bathroom. No live tv, only Roku live; but the WiFi was good.

A Hidden Gem...

Very spacious and bigger than we expected. Great location on the island to get in and out of with all the event traffic. Quite neighborhood, but not too far from the action!!!

Comfortable Retreat

Neat and clean two bedroom house that is downstairs of the owners home. Perfect for the five of us. There are two chaise chairs in the livingroom that can be used as beds. I am a senior and I used one for me. Very comfortable. There are plenty of towels, bedding and extra pillow in a wardrobe in the living room. There are extra chairs and stuff that can be used at the beach, which is just a short drive from the house.

Great place for a quick getaway!

My husband, two daughters (18 and 15), and myself stayed comfortably for a quick visit. I am going to go into detail as there were not many reviews when we booked. Hopefully this helps! This place is in close proximity to everything. The four of us had plenty of space in the living room to watch tv and hang out. The kitchen had all of the basics you would need. The bedrooms stayed cold at night. We were super excited to see beach chairs, sand toys, and boogie boards for us to use. I don’t recall seeing that on the listing but they were a welcome surprise since we could not fit our boogie boards in our vehicle this trip. I loved that this place was dog friendly. The only cons I have are there was no enclosed space outside for our dog to stretch her legs. There was plenty of grassy area, but she needed to be on a leash at all times. The only other thing worth mentioning is that there is a step up into the bathroom and another step to the toilet. This was not an issue for us but if you are specifically choosing a place with no stairs for someone who cannot get up stairs, please note that they will have two steps to use the toilet. We met the owner and he is very nice. This is a great place to stay for a great price!

Its a duplex, and there is a door to the other unit

This is listed as a home, so I missed the part at the bottom that said it is a duplex. I did not care for that, but the worst part was there is a stairwell and an interior door to the other unit. There is a lock, but you do not control it, so you just have to trust it is locked. I did not like that.
