First off, it's a nice property, it was very large and the kids called it their mountain castle. The amenities were great with a few exceptions (read below). The place was really clean, with one small exception. The hot tub was fantastic, the grill and oven were easy to use. Our youngest child (age 3) loved his bedroom and played with the toys. The tweeny thought their bedroom was the best until they found that the PS3 didn't work (see below for details). The master bedroom layout was awesome. The beds were comfy, the linens were fresh and clean. As mentioned you want to buy food before you get there, the store in town next to the property was nice and fully stocked.
Now for the Details on challenges:
Very pleased with the property and I would have rated it 5 stars for everything if it wasn't for the dirty cabinets, Plug to the soaking tub wouldn't go down to plug the tub so we couldn't use it. The lighting in the living room, bedroom, and one of the bathrooms had dead bulbs so it was very dim, especially in the living room (couldn't see the tv remote buttons). I considered changing them myself, but some of them required a step stool or ladder, which I didn't have and they all required removing the lamp, etc. If I was at home I wouldn't hesitate to do it, but if I accidentally dropped or broke something I would pay big for it, so I didn't change them. They had a PS3 with a lot of games, but controllers were dead, no cords, all accessories for Guitar/band Hero were destroyed.
Direction mishap:
The property is tucked away on the hillside, the directions said to print out their directions and not use GPS as internet access can be sporadic. I printed out the directions and tried to follow them to the letter. There were two major discrepancies in the printed directions that caused a ton of confusion, thank god, GPS actually did work it got us the rest of the way there. 1st discrepancy on the long stretch on i285, it said to follow it 55.4 miles. I traveled the estimated 55.4 miles but no left turn to CO 9 S. I traveled a few more miles in both directions and nothing. I finally realized the GPS was working and entered the address, I found the CO 9 S was 15 mins past their expected turns, based on the printed directions. Once you get on Redhill Rd, stay on it, don't turn on Authur's ct. Just continue straight on Redhill Rd, Bonell Dr will be on the left.
