This Idyllic waterfront home is situated on the beautiful Allegheny River, a little over a mile from the heart of Historical Downtown Franklin where you will find many options for shopping & dinning. Whatever brings you to town, an event or festival, a weekend of hiking, biking or kayaking, or just wanting to explore the rich history the area offers the Allegheny River Retreat is the perfect location for experiencing everything charming Franklin has to offer.

River views from almost every room in the house

Guest will have sole access to the main floor and upstairs of the home, with its own entrance and no shared walls and is connected to the lower unit by a door that is key locked from both sides. Only shared space would be the backyard along the water. The yard does have two fire pits.

Indoor Living: Smart TV, modern farmhouse interior, open layout, interior water views, ample natural light. Three comfy queen beds for a pleasant nights sleep.

Kitchen: Well stocked with what you'll need to cook a meal, microwave, coffee pot/french press, tea kettle, cooking basics, dishware & flatware

Step outside what you'll love
* Outdoor space with fire pits may be shared if other guest are staying downstairs
*Private front porch with rocking chairs is the perfect place to spend time resting and restoring with loved ones in between your adventures.

Wanting to kayak or canoe down the Allegheny? OARS known for their kayaking tours is conveniently located next door. Please let JB know we sent you, he will provide you with all your kayaking/canoeing needs. The beautiful Samual Justice Trail is a 4 minute bike ride away.

From this awesome location on the beautiful Allegheny to the comfortable furnishings and finishes, no details were spared to ensure a sweet stay and sleep. Enjoy waking up to the beautiful sunrise on the Allegheny river.

Allegheny River Retreat

We had a great time staying at the property. The house was very clean, kitchen drawers/cabinets were labeled so we knew where to find things. It was great being on the river, with easy access to OARS (right next door) for our canoe trip. And a quick bike ride away from the Allegheny River bike trail. Weather was fantastic, too - which made for a wonderful weekend. My only complaint was that there was a lower unit which was also a VRBO. There was a deck attached to the lower unit- and that was where the grill was. The lower unit was occupied, so it felt uncomfortable going onto 'their deck' to use the grill. We wound up moving it to the concrete pad off the deck, so we didn't feel like we were intruding on guests in the lower until.. We also had to share the backyard with the other guests. Suggest updating the title/listing of the property so it reflects Unit #1 and Unit # 2. We would have probably rented both units if we would have known. Bottom line- it was a wonderful property and a great location. We'll be back.....

Allegheny Retreat

What a fantastic river retreat! The house was immaculate and very well equipped. The location was perfect for our family gathering. Many trips up and back to Bandstand Park along Elk Street. Will definitely stay again when in the area.

We came to town for Christmas. The house was exactly as pictured. Small amount of Christmas decorations and it was the perfect amount. Clean house with absolutely everything you could want/need. Hosts communicated clearly and in a timely manner.

Fantastic river location

Our family spent a week at this rental right on the Allegheny River. The house was very clean, and the furnishings/decor were very modern. Cupboards in the kitchen were labeled so it was very easy to find things—and the owners stock quite a bit, including spices. We had the good fortune of seeing the July 4th fireworks right in the backyard before lighting a bonfire. We kayaked on the river from OARS, the neighbor on the other side of the public landing. And OARS also hosted a band on Friday night which is open to the public, just BYOB. Had to deal with some days of rain, but it was relaxing just to veg in the house, do puzzles, play card games, read books, and watch movies. All in all, a great place to stay and explore Franklin and the surrounding small river towns. Highly recommend and we look forward to coming back!

Home away from home

You’ll not find a cuter VRBO in Franklin. Parking is great and the owners have done a lovely job with their property. The Allegheny River is right outside your door. Would definitely reserve it again
