You're going to love staying at this comfortable, clean, and newly remodeled condo at the beautiful Kihei Akahi, Unit C107. This condo is directly across the street from Kamaole Beach 2 and is a short walk to multiple other amazing beaches. Enjoy walking to many shops and restaurants, including Fred's, 808 Deli, Beach Street, Coconut's Fish Cafe, and Hawaiian Moons. You'll also be just a short drive away from The Shops at Wailea and tons of amazing restaurants and beaches in Wailea and Makena!
THE SPACE
Aloha and thank you for viewing our listing! We hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed putting it together. It's been a dream of ours to own and operate a vacation rental property and you are helping make that dream a reality. You'll likely look at many listings while planning your trip (as you should!) but we would like to say that we are not some big stale rental corporation using formulas to maximize profits. We are a local working family with three kids and two dogs that live nearby in Kihei and will respond promptly to any questions about the island or any issue you may have. We've spent many late nights picking out decor and putting final touches on it for our first tenants who arrived in Mid-July 2022. If you book with us, know that we'll do everything possible to make things perfect and your vacation unforgettable.
MORE ABOUT THE SPACE
This condo was remodeled in July 2022 to include numerous modern touches with a fun clean style. You could say that we harnessed our inner Joanna Gaines and HGTV and poured it out in this condo. As you walk in, you'll feel refreshed by the clean minimalistic design. The fully equipped kitchen features all new stainless-steel appliances, quartz countertops, and a motion sensor faucet. The open concept living room has a queen-sized sleeper sofa and a new 58" Samsung smart TV to relax to after a long day in the sun. Next, the beautifully remodeled bathroom has a walk-in shower with new modern tile, a separate area for the vanity, and plenty of storage for toiletries and essentials. In the hall, there is a new stacked LG laundry suite within a concealed closet. (These are nicer than the ones at our house!) Lastly, the bedroom features a new king-sized bed with luxurious linens and tons of closet space for everything you bring.
For your comfort, there are new air conditioners in the living room AND the bedroom. Many rental condos don't have full air conditioning, but we splurged for your comfort! There are ceiling and floor fans in both the living room and bedroom. If you choose to travel during the summer months, remember that Maui is hot and humid! We encourage you to open your windows and doors and allow the Maui trade winds to gently waft through and cool you down. The space is ideal for young families and can accommodate a maximum of four.
WHAT'S INCLUDED
It may seem silly to list all these things, but we've been warned that some people don't know the difference between hotels and vacation rental condos. So here we go... bed linens, pillows, and a comforter are provided in addition to multiple sets of bath and beach towels. An extra set of linens are provided for the queen sleeper sofa. We'll provide a starter set of liquid soap, shampoo, conditioner, hand soap, detergents, paper towels, and toilet paper. The kitchen comes fully stocked and has a full-size refrigerator with an ice maker and filtered water, microwave, dishwasher, gas range with stove and oven. Additionally, you'll have small appliances like a coffee maker, rice cooker, toaster, and Ninja blender for those morning power smoothies! The living room has a huge flat-screen TV with streaming apps and high-speed Wi-Fi Internet. There is also a washing machine and dryer, a hair dryer, and an iron and ironing board. Two Tommy Bahama beach chairs, an umbrella, one boogie board, and a cooler are provided for you to enjoy and help you travel light. There is also a hotel-style safe in the closet if you need to store valuables during your stay. A pack-and-play can be included for free upon request if you are traveling with a little one.
THE KIHEI AKAHI GROUNDS
The condominium complex includes several mid-rise buildings surrounding courtyards with tropical plants and green spaces. The glass sliding doors lead to a private lanai sitting area and a beautifully manicured green space. The grounds have two gated swimming pools each with BBQ grills and a gated tennis court. There is 24-hour security on-site and admin staff in the front office during the day. Once outside the complex, you are a short walk away from beautiful beaches, shopping, and restaurants. Don't worry, we'll tell you our favorites when the time comes!
FREE PARKING
Parking on the condominium property is included and you will be given your own parking spot for the duration of your stay upon check-in. Visitor parking spots are located on the property for use on a first-come-first-served basis.
GUEST ACCESS
Guests staying in the condo have full access to the amenities of the condo which include a spacious living room with a queen sofa bed, a lanai, a full kitchen, a bathroom with a walk-in shower, and a bedroom with a king bed. Additionally, guests will have access to two pools with BBQ areas and a tennis court on the property.
CHECK-IN AND CHECK OUT
Guests are required to stop by the front office for a free parking pass and to sign registration paperwork upon arrival. If you arrive late, you can check in the next morning. Kihei Akahi charges its owners a one-time $25 charge for each booking. This fee is taken from your total cost and is not added separately.
The front door features an electronic keypad for unlocking the door with an entry code customized for each guest. Therefore, there are no keys to pick up or drop off, making check-in after 4 pm and check-out before 11 am easy-peezy. A key to the pool areas and tennis court is provided inside the condo.
The entry to this condo unit is located on the first floor which makes bringing in luggage, groceries, and beach stuff a breeze, especially if you are traveling with little ones. No need to wait for the elevator or lug heavy items up stairs!
Check-out is equally effortless: guests are free to simply depart at any time prior to check-out time on their final day, which is usually 11 am or earlier. Departing guests are requested to notify the host that they have checked out and departed the condo, so the host knows when it is okay the enter and to prepare for future guests.
THOSE DREADED TAXES
Unfortunately, just like staying in a hotel, vacation rentals are taxed. Fortunately, this money goes back to help fund many needs for the state.
Maui County TAT of 3%.
Hawaii State TAT of 10.25%.
General Excise Tax of 4.166%.
Totaling 17.416%. This tax will be added to your nightly rate and will be paid by us to the state and county. All listings and sites list these slightly differently, but everyone should be paying them. This should help you compare listings apples to apples.

Varför vÀrden valde detta boende
We dreamed of owning a vacation rental property on Maui since we moved here. We'd love to host friends and family and possibly meet new people as well. This property stuck out to us because it's affordable, but in a prime location. By remodeling it and upgrading it, people can get a reasonably priced stay within walking distance of so many great places.
