Aloha, We're very sorry you discovered mold in the AC units and in the bathroom caulking of Valley Isle Resort 1103 and that you felt the unit was not habitable. Aloha, and we’re very sorry you had to experience these concerns during your stay, particularly while traveling with your infant. We understand how concerning it would be to encounter what appeared to be mold in the AC units. We do see that you reached out to our after-hours team. Our after-hours team is available to assist with true emergencies, such as lockouts, fires, flooding, and other urgent situations. When a relocation is requested or determined to be necessary, our standard process is for our daytime Guest Services team to take over the following morning so we can properly assess the situation, coordinate alternative accommodations, and assist with the next steps. We’re sorry that the timing of this process did not meet your expectations. We appreciate you bringing your concerns to our attention and will be sharing your feedback with our team for review. Aloha, Mahalo for sharing this — we are very sorry your stay was disrupted by storm-related flooding and that you had to manage the water intrusion around the clock. We’re sorry to hear about your experience during the Kona low storm, which was an unprecedented weather event and unfortunately outside of our control. We would like to clarify that we did speak with you regarding your concerns, including your request for a refund. During that conversation, we agreed to and processed a partial refund as a gesture of goodwill. As communicated at the time, refunds beyond this are not provided for events classified as acts of nature. We do appreciate your efforts in managing the water intrusion during the storm and understand how stressful that situation must have been. However, the conditions you encountered were directly related to severe weather impacting the area. Regarding communication, we regret if there was any frustration, but we did address your case and clearly communicated that no additional refund would be issued.
