Big Lake Cabin with Hot Tub/ Kayaks/ Ping Pong/ Cable

The "Sunshine Cabin" enjoys ample natural sun year around from its lofty position up in the trees. The large picture window overlooking Big Lake provides a birds eye view of both the canopy and lake.
This 81’ deep lake has an island and home to many types of fish that's why we brought fishing/recreational kayaks for our guests. The boat launch access is just 1.6 miles from the sunshine cabin. The cabin is secluded on 1.45 acres of trees.

Everything as described, appreciated that it was clean and everything we needed to use the kitchen was provided. The indoor hot tub was nice since it was in the fall and cold and rainy outside.

This is a beautiful home on beautiful property overlooking a lake. The owners have a hot tub in the garage which is decorated like its own little oasis. There is an outdoor fire pit. Fishing kayaks for use. The home itself is very welcoming. We went in September and the home was nicely decorated with fall items. It was just a lovely place to stay. If you have any questions or concerns the owners are very responsive. We really enjoyed our stay here near some beautiful trails to hike with our dogs.

Such a lovely home base for our summer vacation week. Comfy beds and a great view of the woods from the upper/main floor. We were a little worried it might be off the grid and hard to use our GPS, but it’s easy to access in a quiet little neighborhood that had plenty of spaces to walk with our lab. (Dog beds provided was a very nice touch that made him settle in, and there was plenty of space to set up his crate.)We were 20 minutes from a nice state park beach and a half hour from an excellent forest hike. About an hour from the Mackinac Bridge and another hour to Sault Ste Marie for a day of UP adventures. And we enjoyed the kayaks on Emerald and Opal Lakes, as well as some fishing time nearby on Big Lake.Lots of good tools to cook with in the kitchen and a nice gas range, plus a grill and a crockpot that came in handy for quick hot dogs and having a nice dinner ready after our day trips. Then some chillax time in the hot tub and out on the deck.The whole family loved it!

Just as Expected

Although the weather did not cooperate for the primary purpose of the stay (snowmobiling), the accommodations' ensured a pleasant Northern Michigan experience. Very comfortable property for a couple or small group.

Adorable cabin quiet area

The cabin was very clean and close to the lake. It was very close to the shopping in Gaylord, yet you felt you were more in the country. The cabin had a very nice garage area that they made into a recreational area which my family loved the ping pong table and the hot tub!! They also had kayaks available. They even had beds for our fur babies!! They had an adorable Coffee bar that had flavored syrups. They had many nice extras you normally do not see in a cabin rental. I would highly recommend this cabin to friends and family.

The best stay!

We had one of the best experiences on this stay that we’ve ever had. From the beginning, our hosts were great with responses and communication. We were able to get to our 20th anniversary getaway easily and in the door with no problems. The neighborhood was very pretty and quiet with almost no traffic going past. We had our 2 dogs and took many walks and I think we saw one car going past. The city of Gaylord is very close by so if you forgot something, you can just run out and get what you need easily. The whole place was immaculately clean and lovely upon entering. We had several days of kid free time (although our teens would have really liked it there too, it was lovely) so we opted to cook every meal there. The kitchen was delightfully and perfectly stocked, from cooking supplies, all the spices, you name it, they had it! They had a complete coffee, tea and hot chocolate bar that rivaled Starbucks (along with chocolates!). The bed was cozy and inviting, the indoor hot tub was well maintained and a great temperature, complete with towels and robe right at hand. The huge screen TV had a great cable package. Even the two dog mattresses were top-notch. You simply cannot find a nicer quality place to stay for the value. We give them 2 thumbs up!! Thank you for a great time!!

Kitchen was stocked well along with the bathroom. The property was clean and communication was great with the property owner. The home is located close to town but still far enough away to be quiet and private.

Great upnorth getaway

Me and my boyfriend stayed with our 2 dogs and had a great experience. The cabin was very clean. Since it’s winter we loved that the hot tub was inside. Overall very nice and we would stay again.

Fabulous cabin in the woods.

I would give this a excellent rating. It was super clean, and well decorated. It was very organized. The hot tub was very clean, and the area it was in was very well heated. Each room hss a separate thermostat so you can control each room to your comfort level. Plenty of towels, plus there was coffee, and a cocoa bar. It was decorated for the holiday. It was very peaceful and quiet, but I didn't feel.secluded. Beds were very comfortable. Plenty of parking. Plow came in a very timely manner to plow and shovel the snow that had fallen. I would highly recommend this place. It was within 5 miles to two ski resorts plus Gaylord.

Vad som gör detta boende unikt

We have a high ceiling heated garage that is turned into a recreational zone. In the garage, we are adding an indoor hot tub scheduled to be in 08/18/2022 that can be used all the year no matters what the weather outside besides a ping pong table, and corn hole.
In the second floor, we have a high vaulted ceiling and the walls in the open space living/dining and kitchen are made from oak wood with its natural wood color and the freestanding gas stove heater the entire place is made to be soothing and relaxing.
All the rooms have an individual thermostat so you can set your preferred temperature.
