Wonderful Getaway!

We had a wonderful stay at Lake Arrowhead. The host made sure we had access into the property. There were still soft snow so that made our day, especially the kids. The driveway was steep so it took us a while to get use to it. There’s lots of stairs as you enter the home, but we didn’t mind since it was a good workout. Some family members stay at a nearby condo since they there’s only a few steps there. Plenty of room in the living room and kitchen. Nice spacious balcony/patio. The kids can play in the snow all day! Thank you for the wonderful stay!

House is spacious, clean, well maintained, and kitchen has all the essentials. There are bedrooms on each floor if stairs are a concern. Enough parking for 4 cars. Great home for a group get away.

Not what we hoped for

We booked our stay for two nights check in May 26th Friday checking Sunday, but we knew once we walked in the home that the house was not what we expected, it smelled like cigarettes, it stated on the reservation that it’s non smoking but there were ashtrays in the kitchen, also as we were walking through the house we noticed two toilets were not flushed, someone obviously peed but didn’t flush, there weren’t enough bath towels, only ONE wash cloth(family of 7) we found it odd that there were bars of soaps but they were already used eeeek, we couldn’t leave ANY food on the kitchen counter because ants GIANT ants would be all over it, so we quickly learned that we just had to store everything in the fridge, luckily my husband got a call from work that required us shortening our stay (which I’d typically would have been infuriated) but in this case I wanted to leave, so I text the host that night (Friday) advising them that we may need to leave that next morning, they asked if everything was “ok” well I didn’t want to be THAT person so I said yeah all is “ok” and that it’s because of work
.. so the next morning we ate breakfast and checked out HOPING we would get a refund since we stayed ONE night and even checked out way before the check out time 11am, I thought wrong. This was our first time using VRBO and unfortunately our last, Big Bear Ca will continue to be our place! Big Bear vacations! Love them!

Great Family Getaway

Living areas were nice and spacious, and we loved the fireplace near the dinning table to keep our meals cozy. Plenty of wood was there available as well which was much appreciated. Beds were comfy!
