Disappointed

The whole condo has been neglected for years. Window screens didn't fit in the openings and almost all were torn. The prongs in the dishwasher were rusty. The fan in the postman's bath was full of dust and grime. One of the standing portable fans was full of dust. The baseboards and doors were chipped and raw wood showed through and needed to be painted. The sheets and bedspread didn't fit the king-size bed. There were no kitchen towels. The toaster was dented and only a few heating elements worked. There was one wine glass and only 3 mismatched sizes of other glassware. No mop, no broom. The maid did come by. She went out and bought the items listed after "to be painted" above, except a bedspread. With taxes, we paid more than $500 a night.

Location is great; furnishings, not so much

The unit floor plan and location is wonderful. However, the unit furniture was old and dirty, with snags in the material. The mattress was, again, old and very lumpy. There were few dishes, bowls, etc. The can opener was rusted shut. There was not a sharp knife. The floors were dirty. Had to clean our feet every night before we got into bed. The slate tiles on the lanai were worn down to the point it of being a tripping hazard. We have stayed in this unit before and were very disappointed to see how much the owners have let it deteriorate.

Not what it used to be...

View is fabulous - oceanfront with softly crashing waves. Condo itself is very tired, doors that don't close, rust spots throughout, poorly stocked kitchen. Worst was check-in - condo has new electronic lock which management can add lock code that is valid at certain time. Called to get an early check-in and was approved - but configuration was never changed for earlier time. Call ed management and they couldn't get a response from person who does the configuration. How does that happen? Cleaning crew came by and happened to have a code to get us in - but then we couldn't leave until our valid became valid. Also was told a parking pass would be in the condo - nope. Called again ans was told it would be dropped off - nope again. Never saw it at all. Lucky not to get a ticket or be towed. With so many condos available in Kona this is not the way to encourage repeat visits.

Great stay in Kona

I will start with the fact that I would stay here again in a second. Great location, had everything we needed, but the unit could use some fixing up, nothing a trip to a home store and weekend would not fix. A sun shade on the Bedroom would be a great addition for light and heat control. The Wi-Fi was not working when got there, I managed to get it going but boy was it slow. Lastly, the sofa sleeper was tough to get back in. Lastly, we had some difficulty getting the info to check in but it all worked out in the end. These were all minor issues Again, overall we loved it and will/would stay again.

Great ocean view!

The first floor condo is directly on the ocean and the lanai is perfect for viewing and watching whales, surfers, and sunsets. The pool is just around the corner from this end unit. The kitchen and furniture in the unit is nicely done.
