Disappointed
We stayed for four nights in August and had a disappointing experience both with the property and communication with the management.
Things to know:
- The sitting room with trundles isn’t appropriate for children because it has no doors and opens to the living room and dining room, so kids can’t sleep if adults are up.
- the security alarm went off in the guest house at 1:30AM one night for no clear reason. It chirped in the main house as well.
- the heat blasted in the primary bedroom one night (there was no signage indicating you either need to bring the wall hanging thermostat into the bedroom or leave the bedroom doors open to prevent this).
- the windows in the house don’t open, making the blasting heat even less pleasant.
- we shared concerns about the an entire night of lost sleep (between the alarm and heat blasting) and were offered an additional night (didn’t work for us because we work) and told no compensation was an option because we’d agreed no refunds in the lease.
- the beds in all the rooms were notably uncomfortable
- there is no recycling option (we packed up our recycling and brought it home).
The property itself is beautiful, but the overall experience wasn’t ok. We won’t be back and wouldn’t want others with children to think that “sitting room with trundle” means a space appropriate for children to sleep.
