The Loblolly - Lodge w/ Great Mountain Views
Surrounded by the lush foliage by which this 3-level private mountain retreat get its' name, The Loblolly sits on almost 8 acres and is located approx. 8 minutes from downtown Highlands. This is a 5 bedroom, 3 bath log cabin that has year-round panoramic views of Brushy Face and Satulah Mountain.
On the main level, you will find the open kitchen and dining room divided by a stone fireplace, with access to the rear covered porch that spans the length of the house. Around the corner is the main living room with another stone fireplace and plenty of comfortable seating. A (King) bedroom and full bathroom share a small hallway on this level as well.
Upper level has a spacious Master Suite with a King bed and attached full bathroom, as well as 2 Queen bedrooms next to another full bathroom.
Downstairs features a cozy lower den with a large couch, a high-top card table, antique fireplace, and access to laundry units and a second covered porch. There's also a 5th bedroom with two twins that sits at the base of the stairs.
Outdoors, the double-decked porches extend the entire length of the backside of the home for guests to enjoy many leisurely afternoons admiring the mountain view in the cool Highlands air. The paved driveway ends in a small firepit seating area to enjoy the warmth of a smoky campfire next to this peaceful mountain home.

--It is suggested to have an AWD vehicle. The paved driveway starts right off of the highway but has a steep downhill to the house which may be difficult to navigate in adverse weather.--

*** Please note.. this area has limited cell coverage. The internet provider is currently VSAT - a satellite internet provider. This could hinder internet-based phone or video calls.***
[All of the homes managed by Highlands Vacation Rentals have wifi internet access(speeds may vary based on different providers), basic kitchenware & dishes, linens provided, and a starter set of amenities including: 2 toilet paper rolls per bathroom + A set of personal shampoo, conditioner, hand & body soap (also per bathroom), 2 paper towel rolls, a few kitchen trash bags, a kitchen sponge, some dish soap and a couple of dishwasher and laundry detergent pods. ]
CANCELLATION POLICY: Our cancellation policy (effective for bookings confirmed after April 1, 2024) is outlined below:
For reservations that are 21 days or less, A reservation cancelled ( by email receipt ) between 0 - 45 days prior to arrival is not eligible for a refund. If reservation is cancelled more than 45 days prior to arrival, guest shall receive a refund of all payments made* less a cancellation fee of 10% of the total cost of the reservation AND the cost of any trip insurance if purchased.
*Refunds do not include third-party service fees as those are determined by the booking site and we do not control how those funds are processed.
For any reservations that are more than 21 days, No refund will be given unless the property is re-rented over the previously booked dates.
You may purchase Travel insurance to cover your trip for cancellations. Contact Highlands Vacation Rentals for details.
