Seaward Cottage ligger på 170 tunnland egendom kallas Sealedges-an havet privat reserv nära den pittoreska lobstering byn Cutler.

Det finns havsutsikt från både sovrum och vardagsrum i denna autentiska Maine vagn hus. Stugan ligger på en privat väg utan allmänhetens tillgång. Vandra för miles på stigar längs havet avsatser med spektakulär utsikt sjölandskap, eller gå på skogsstigar besöks av ripa, rådjur och älg. Detta område är känt för sin fantastiska fågelskådning. Örnar ses regelbundet och lunnefågel turer kan avnjutas ute närliggande Cutler Harbor. Se sälar spelar i havet surfa eller titta på tjocka Cutler dimma som rullar in, svälja den klippiga kusten och skogsträdgränsen.

Picknick vid Puffin Pavilion-fastighetens Bevakat i skogen. Gå creek sida längs höga granitklippor att snickra Beach. Här kan du plocka upp små granitklippor rullade smidigt genom åldrarna stormar och tidvatten ökningar. Den lugn och avskildhet i detta område är vad "Down East" Maine handlar om.

Titta på när hummer båtarna återvänder till Cutler Harbor med sin färska fångst av dagen. Besök varv väg att plocka upp din egen hummer middag.

Relaxing Vacation Location

Cozy and comfortable cottage in a lovely quiet location. Enjoyed our time there - only issue was a neighbor's german shepard dog that ran loose and terrorized us and our dog.

Our pup, Grace, had a great time! We could see the coastline from the house. We had a great time hiking the trails and coastline on the property, as well as the surrounding area.

Seward Cottage stay

The Sealedges property is private and perfect for anyone seeking solitude on the rocky Atlantic shoreline and mossy woodland trails. This was our 2nd visit and we’ll book again.

Gorgeous property for hiking. Many well marked trails and stunning views. House is Cosy, clean, excellent beds, great water pressure and strong Wi-Fi. Friendly hosts. We will be back!

Beautiful section of Maine coast at your doorstep. House is old and a bit musty but comfortable enough. Foggy days and biting bugs mitigate some of the fun. Overall a nice visit but a bit pricey for the overall experience.

Charming, quiet ,peaceful cottage within private mini national park

There is peace and quiet at this cottage surrounded by Maine’s natural beauty. Staying at this cottage is like staying at your own mini national park. The trails are amazing and offer every bit of breathtaking beauty as does any national or state park in Maine, but possibly even better due to the absence of tourists in search of stunning vistas. I highly recommend treating yourself and family to this special , private slice of immense Maine heaven.

Cool coastal escape

My husband, our dog, and I enjoyed our stay at this cottage on the Bold Coast of Maine immensely! The property is right on the ocean with a few pine trees in between the cottage and the cliffs. The space is very quiet and very private. The cottage itself was very comfortable and had lots of authentic charm. We cooked in the kitchen every night (mostly lobster from the nearby dock).

A calm getaway

As a place to get away from it all, this cottage is wonderful. Quiet. Sea breezes. Private roads and trails. Birding. Contemplative overlooks. And fresh-caught lobster just minutes away in Cutler. Couldn’t have asked for more!

Best trip ever!!

Mike and Julie are the best...not to mention Julie's amazing blueberry cake!! Sealedges is gorgeous with endless scenery and wonderfully groomed trails (thanks to Mike). Julie makes sure the cottage is perfectly prepared. Cutler had limitations in terms of eating out, going to the grocery, etc...but the beauty of the place is well worth the drive into Machias. Do yourself a favor and stay here...we can't wait to come back!!

A very special place!

I took a trip out here from Michigan, with my 4 boys, and we had an amazing time. Leslie is a wonderful host. The house was very clean, the beds were so comfy, and the views were wonderful! The kids and I enjoyed the property as well, my oldest explored each trail. We had a good time checking out the pavilion and seeing the island. We would go as a family after dinner and see what wildlife we could find. The property is very well maintained! It is in such a lovely spot, away from things but still within 30 minutes or less of what is needed. It was a trip we will always remember, what a beautiful place!

Magical

The cottage is situated a hundred yards or so from the edge of the sea. The land probably consists of a few hundred acres of mostly fragrant balsam forest and dramatic sea edge. It is shared with the owner who generously allows guests to traverse the gravel driveway and paths. The cottage is immaculate and charming. It is the first house on the driveway at the flagpole, which can be confusing because this is not stated on the access doc. The Bold Coast (between Cutler and Lubec) offers several trails that contain short to long hikes. I particularly liked the Boot Head Trail in Lubec. Blaze orange should be worn on trails.

Just what we needed!!

We had a great week at this property, doing just what we wanted, which wasn't much. We needed to relax, reconnect and recharge and that's just what we did. The cottage is beautiful and the property is gorgeous. There is something to do for every age and plenty to see in the area. Thank you so much for sharing your property with us!!

Bold Coast Stay

This property is amazingly beautiful and eerily mysterious at the same time. House was comfortable. It’s set back from the water, but you can still hear the waves from the porch and in the bedrooms with the windows open. Weather and water both felt unpredictable. Sun shining one min and the next the fog rolls in. We did not swim or kayak from the property as the water’s pull was very strong and it felt unsafe with the kids. We had a wonderful time exploring the property and all its trails, which are excellently maintained and clearly marked. We road our bikes to and from the pavilion and the kids enjoyed riding up and down the pavement of Little Machias Rd. We also enjoyed exploring a few towns in the area, such as Machias, Lubec and Eastport. Went swimming at Roque Bluff and even caught the sun rise one morning at West Quoddy Head Lighthouse! We had a fabulous vacation exploring the Bold Coast of Maine.

Beautiful as ever!

This is our third trip here, over the years. We love the Bold Coast area of Maine, and staying at SeaLedges. A perfect place to enjoy nature, the ocean, and to relax. It was great to be back, and we'll look forward to returning some time in the future.

Relax and Recharge

This is the 3rd time we have stayed at Sea Ledges. After the last difficult 18 months, we needed to get away to just relax and recharge. Sitting on the rocks or in the pavilion does just that. We love the Cutler area and hope to return again.

Wonderful!!

We spent two weeks at Sea ledge and enjoyed every moment! The property is amazing-other than grocery shopping, there is no reason to leave! We spent much time exploring all the different trails on the property and lots of time on Cobble Beach watching the tides, seals and eagles. If you are looking for peace and quiet and beauty, this is the place!

Sea Ledges - A Serene Part of the Bold Coast of Maine

Very comfortable cottage on 172 acres on the coast. Whether sunny or "Cutler foggy", we were at peace in God's beautiful place at Sea Ledges. Staying on the property we enjoyed trails along the coast cliffs. Off-property, day-trips were easy to Machias, Jonesport, Lubec, and elsewhere in Downeast Maine. Property owners and property manager were THE BEST! This is our second year and we shall return.

Rugged and Serene

We had a lovely stay and Leslie and her caretaker were lovely. My only complaint was the furnishings in the sunroom which are in need of replacing and uncomfortable, which is a shame because it's the best view in the house! My dogs loved chasing a ball on the lawn and met the nieghbors golden puppy and had fun. I went to the cobbled beach and chilled. So beautiful.

Beautiful Location

Exactly as described, like staying on a private preserve. Perfect for birders and other wildlife watchers. We enjoyed the trails every day, took full advantage of other nearby trails and preserves. Splurged on the local seafood. Few tourists around, mostly working fishing villages. The cottage was comfortable and charming, a welcome retreat each evening, going to sleep to the sound of surf and waking up to the same. This was Maine as I always imagined it.

We are David and Leslie Winn and we live in Lago Vista, Texas outside of Austin. Our children are Ryan and Natalie, Jonathan, and Hunter and grand daughter Vivian. We fell in love with the Sealedges 20 years ago and spend as much time as we can there every summer.

We feel that this is a very special place….a sanctuary in which to feel closer to God and rejoice in the beauty of the world He created for us.

Vad som gör detta boende unikt

Our favorite time at Sealedges is spent with family and friends hiking the rock ledges, eating lobster at the Puffin Pavilion and star gazing at night. We love the privacy of the property. Long walks up the quiet neighboring roads end at the old pre Civil War Cutler Cemetery. Animal sitings are another past time as well as trips around the area visiting the local attractions. Our children say they love coming to Maine-it's beautiful, it's quiet and it is miles away from the stresses of home.
