Don’t stay here!

The noise level from the street is exceedingly LOUD. Vehicle engine noise and sidewalk pedestrian voices reverberate up off the brick building street corridors directly into the bedrooms. Vulgar, profane shouts from the bar crowd are frequent. Impossible to sleep until 1:30am. Also, apartment is not nearly as nice as the pictures suggest. There are safety concerns regarding flimsy door locks as well. Very poor experience - not recommended.

Loved the old downtown building and original stone walls!

The property is very nice, clean and spacious. Great communication and very rapid replies to all questions! Would be 5 stars except the listing does not say there are very steep stairs to access the unit. It was difficult for 3 older adults (65-68 yrs old) to go up and down the stairs with bad knees and luggage. Please update the listing with that critical piece of info so those of us that are older can be sure we understand that. I'm certain it is not an issue for younger guests.

Nice Place

Very clean, plenty of room. It’s on the busiest street in town with lots of foot traffic, so there is some noise. But that being said, the location outweighs any foot traffic noise. Very convenient spot.

Mass street loft

Even though we had hiccups in getting in loft apartment we had a good time. Bathroom tub we cleaned before we used because it was needing it.

Perfect Location!

This property had everything we needed and was very clean and spacious. The location is unbeatable if you're planning to be on Mass! Will definitely be trying to stay here whenever I visit Lawrence in the future!

Great Mass Street stay

We came to Lawrence for the Kansas Brew Fest. The place was in an excellent location for walking around downtown Lawrence! Very close to restaurants, bars, and shopping.

Convenient location

The host worked with us on check in time and accommodation for days which we really appreciated. Location is easy walking distance to all bars on Mass and home from a football game. There were loud buskers on the street outside the window till about 2 am so that was interesting and the whole place smelled like Pickleman’s (not the worst smell). For the cost, I would love to see a wine opener and at least 2ply toilet paper next time. With those it would be a five star joint because I think the other things are to be expected with the location.

Great location!

Property was exactly as described and super convenient to all the Mass street activities. It was a little loud on the street because it was a huge game day win (KU vs OU), and also Halloween, but we are sound sleepers, so didn’t bother us. Living area is really comfortable. Big TV. Kitchen is well appointed. Communication with Sarah was great. As others have mentioned, there are stairs up to the unit, but they were no problem. Really cute cafe next door for Sunday breakfast. We would definitely stay here again.

GREAT location, but uncomfortable

Super cute. Super great location Merri clean. Not a big deal but 25 stops at the staircase to the apartment. Just an FYI. Big king size bed, but very firm and not comfortable. Sheets are cheap. Ceiling fan was a real blessing. Because the air conditioner did not work very well and being an upstairs unit it was 78° when we arrived and after it ran for 12 hours it only cooled off to 75°. The road noise and the vibrant outside atmosphere does not make for a great sleeping if you’re a light sleeper. But honestly other than those things, everything else was superb.

Property was fine except: air conditioning barely worked at all. It was on but temp never got below 74, sometimes higher. Mattresses were not comfortable. Too firm. Finally, somebody needs to fix the loose stair guard strip on the third step from the bottom in the access stairwell. It’s a dangerous trip hazard.

Wonderful stay in the heart of downtown Lawrence

I came Kansas to visit my kids and grandkids and the rental was a very nice and comfortable. My daughter and the grandkids stayed in one of the rooms together and we had some fun sleepovers during my stay. I was a little nervous staying by myself but I felt very safe. It was fun being right on Mass street and meeting my family at the coffee shops right downstairs. A very good vacation spot. Would definitely recommend!

Great place right on Mass st

Overall great experience staying here - communication with hosts was amazing (better than another vrbo I’ve stayed at!), and the apartment was so cute and clean! We only had one issue and Angela came quickly to help resolve it! Mass st was really busy on cinco de Mayo so it was a little loud, but what a great location to venture out for coffee or shopping. Thank you for accommodating us!

Future Jayhawk Girls Weekend

My daughter and I just returned from an amazing girls weekend to shop, bond, and tour (for a second time) KU’s campus and community. This was our first time staying and we will be repeat costumers for sure! Parking was not a big issue and not expensive AT ALL. That said, we were out and about a lot. Bed was super comfortable and the noise machine was an added bonus. There were a few times you could hear shouting outside or the faint sound of music, but overall a very quite space. There are 24 stairs, so if you have a lot of luggage plan accordingly ;-). We felt safe, secure, and it was super cozy and we had all we needed! Mass street did not disappoint in the shopping department nor the food department!
