Cleanliness was definitely an issue. We're not clean freaks by any means but the surfaces inside the house and out were filthy. Walking around inside turned our socks and bare feet black within minutes. Not gray. Not dusty. Black. We had toddlers in the house, it was disgusting. We were never able to get out on the dock either, what looked so beautiful and inviting in the picture was instead loaded with bird poop. Not just a few droppings, but layers of it from end to end making it impossible to sit, stroll or fish on. It was a shame, because the view was genuinely lovely—but the mess made it impossible to enjoy. I contacted the owner afterwards and told her about this, her only reply was that I should've contacted her during our stay. I probably should have spoken up sooner, but that's not the point. When someone pays a high price to rent your house on VRBO, you should, at the very least, own the responsibility of cleaning it and not tell the people who paid you for that house it was their responsibility to contact you during their stay to tell you to do that. You knew we were coming, clean the house. Her response, shifting the blame on me for not telling her that her house was dirty, made this all worse for us. We will not be returning.

This property was perfect for pur group. We had two days of hanging out on the back patio and one day on the lake. The patio furniture is comfortable, the house was very clean and the kitchen was well stocked. We walked to the riverwalk 2 of the 3 days - fun music and fun shopping; the house is at a great location. The host was prompt in responding!

Best Decision

We stayed at this home May 29-June1. The house was very clean, had just enough of everything we needed and fit our purpose perfectly. Plenty of room to have several adults and 5 grandchildren over to celebrate my husbands bday. We enjoyed the nice deck out back and the pier where we tied floats for the grandaughters to enjoy. Plenty of space for every thing we wanted to do. Snuggery was right down the street. Best decision we have made to no longer get a hotel and just book this house. Communicating was great. They responded to any questions very quickly. We will be doing this again!

Beautifully renovated riverhouse

Booked last minute. Host was communicative and accommodating. We loved the location and the river was peaceful. The house was nicely renovated and clean!

River Front Bliss

This place was awesome. We brought in a bunch of family for our son's Navy graduation. It's right on the river and the little community there is just so cool. They had a festival with music and food trucks on the square with all the shops the weekend we were there. It was super comfortable in the house and having the 3.5 bathrooms was clutch with so many people. I may have just given up my lake front retirement dream for a river front community like this one!

Chain pf Lakes getaway

Conveniently located near Chicago and especially the North shore. Clean, spacious and updated. Waterfront with great views of the sunset. A real getaway.

Great Location, Description, Property

What a great location for a get-together with friends? Although it was pouring rain two of the three days the inside never felt cramped for three adults. Outfitted with a pool table and foosball table, not to mention the latest and greatest in the kitchen and bathrooms, this is a great getaway location or short-term hideaway. The host was communicative and easy to work with. Outstanding ratings, all around.

Great place on the river

We were in town for my FIL’s funeral. House was the perfect spot for our five adults. Unfortunately, the weather was too cold to enjoy the outdoor amenities. We enjoyed playing pool and foosball. Bedrooms were spacious and there were plenty of baths. Would stay again.

Beautiful place on the river

We had a great time reuniting with family. Beautiful libation on the river and close to where we needed to be. Host responded so quickly to calls and questions. Great experience.

Annual Chain Trip

We have been coming up here annually for a few years now with our group of friends to boat the chain and enjoy it more and more every time. The house was perfect for 3 adult couples and the location in regards to the river and the chain was perfect. Loved every minute of this trip
