Stepping Stone är det perfekta läget för din semester. Det är på en lugn, privat väg, nära till allt som Southwest Harbour har att erbjuda. Ta en halv mil promenad eller köra till Seawall Beach eller den lokala hummerpunden, hoppa i bilen och fortsätt till vandringslederna och Bass Harbor-fyren, eller ta 5 minuters bilresa till centrum för middag och shopping.
Hemmet i sig är rymligt och soligt och består av en master badrum med en queen size-säng och badrum med duschkabin, ett andra sovrum med två drottningar och ett hallbad med badkar / duschkombination. I stayed at Stepping Stone last year and decided to stay for two weeks this year. The house is in a quiet neighborhood with deer frequently visiting. It’s a very clean and comfortable home. The kitchen is very well equipped for cooking or there are local places to eat out. There is a fire pit conveniently located just off the deck for roasting marshmallows. I love the Southwest Harbor location and I would definitely stay at Amy’s home again!

Good clean and functional space. Location is solid for getting into SW Harbor and accessing other areas on that part of MDI. Interesting neighborhood with what appears to be combination of seasonal cottages, year round residences and camp sites. Tons of deer everywhere in this specific part of MDI. Good sized new grill works well and kitchen has updates appliances and all the tools needed to cook just about anything. Garage space is helpful for gear/equipment, bikes and watercraft. Excellent communication from host. Definitely a very solid option for a family of four at a reasonable price point for two bedroom, two bath accommodations during MDI peak season.

Great location on quiet side of MDI. Enjoyed it as a wonderful base home to enjoy all Acadia and MDI had to offer. Kitchen well stocked, house comfortable and quiet. Nice to have large garage to store bikes! Pics and listing accurate and would definitely stay again if we found ourselves back in Maine.

Wonderful!

This is such a peaceful place! The home is spotlessly clean and has absolutely everything you need. From soap and shampoos to a hairdryer and iron, even dish soap and laundry soap provided along with a well stocked kitchen- you won’t have to drag it all from home. The linens and towels are high quality and the beds are extremely comfortable. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. We loved it and would highly recommend! Thank you Amy!

Lovely Home

Quiet setting in the woods. Home is spacious with everything you need for cooking your own meals. Home is close to town and only 30 minutes to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. If we come back to this area we would book it again.

My husband and I stayed at Amy's extremely comfortable Seawall home. We had everything we needed and more! The kitchen had more cookware than I do at my home! No need to eat out all the time. 2 spacious bathrooms, and the mattresses... we both slept like we home! The location just can't be beat. Its withing walking distance to a gorgeous beach and close to downtown. Amy's house has all the comforts of home and we throughly enjoyed our stay. We'll be back and will happily stay here again!

Disappointing and misrepresented

Full disclosure, we were charged for damage to the bottom of a door that was not damaged during our visit. If you stay absolutely document the condition at arrival and inform VRBO of any detail. The unit was advertised as air conditioned. There is a single window unit in the dining area which was not shown on the VRBO pictures leading you to believe that it had central air. The rest of the unit relied on open windows to cool which was insufficient. The house was clean except for a very moldy front loader washer and ants, The house felt unsafe. The garage doors were not latched to openers and could just be lifted up at any time. The door from the garage to the house could be locked but no key to it. The house itself was unlocked on arrival and we were told to leave unlocked upon exit. Additionally, the construction is obviously unprofessionally performed. This evidenced by the visible framing in the garage was not to code, poorly painted cabinets, and unpainted wood filler in the bathroom trim. The location is advertised as in close proximity to Acadia NP. In reality there is a small camp ground and rocky beach that is close but the bulk of the park and Bar Harbor is over 30 minutes drive away.

Comfortable oasis on the Quiet Side

This property was comfortable and clean with everything you need for a restful retreat from the business of Acadia and Bar Harbor. Very convenient for Bass Harbor Lighthouse. We loved being away from the crowds and chaos of Bar Harbor. I highly recommend staying here!Would recommend dinner at nearby Peter Trouts. Lots of locals there. Coffee and bagels and Milagro was also a treat.Only suggestion I have is adding a mattress topper to the master bed.

Peaceful vacation

This property was beautifully decorated with attention to details. Everything was stocked as advertised. i’ve stayed at many VRBOs that did not have the items they listed in their description and then you need to run to a store to pick up needed items. This is also the cleanest vrbo that i’ve stayed. The bed linens and pillows were really nice. We loved that after a busy day hiking or in the nearby towns, we could go back to this peaceful retreat. Most evenings we would sit out at a fire before going to bed. It was also neat to see deer and their fawn passing through the yard. Amy was an attentive host prior to and during our stay, answering any messages or calls promptly. I would highly recommend this location

Stepping Stone is a beautifully appointed home. It was a very comfortable place for my cousins and I to spend a few days on MDI. Out of the way, but within 20-30 minutes of anything we wanted to do.

Very cozy home beautifully situated away from the hustle of the crowds, but convenient to all the beauty Acadia has to offer. I just missed the memo about needing to bring our own shampoo and such. But a trip to the Walgreens in Bar Harbor remedied that.

SW Harbor House

Definitely quiet, safe, roomy house for us four adults. Very clean. Set in a beautiful peaceful place just a short walk to the ocean. I would definitely stay here again.

Better than advertised!

We really enjoyed our week at Stepping Stone. The entire property was clean, comfortable and welcoming. The home is well appointed and maintained with care. The kitchen is roomy and equipped with everything needed for preparing meals and getting ready for your day. One of the highlights of our stay was the opportunity to meet our host Amy. We definitely recommend this property on the quiet side of Mt. Desert Island.

Visiting and hiking Acadia national Park

We were not aware of the drive into the property at night. That was a little. Concerning, But by morning, we were much more comfortable about where we were. When we drove into the driveway the first evening, there was a very large deer sitting in the yard and that’s what we drove into. Funny but also scary. It is a beautiful home and decorated very nicely and the rooms worked out great for my friend and I. Very well stocked with all you need for your stay.

Nice Seawall location

The house is about 20 minutes from the busy Bar Harbor and tucked nicely in the woods. Deer and turkey daily visitors. House very comfortable and had all the necessary amenities. Amy alerted us immediately of electric outage and kept us updated. Overall a very nice house for us.
