Grand Oaks Cottage: Ideal Location!

This charming cottage is a haven tucked off of Folly Road. Only 5 minutes from Folly Beach and 8 minutes from downtown historical Charleston.
The porch over looks a large back yard that is framed in by four majestic Grand Oaks that are draped with Spanish Moss, hence how the cottage was named. While relaxing it is possible to see occasional wildlife!

There is a large driveway for big toys!
Grocery store, restaurant/bar and brewery right across Folly Rd.

The charm of the place is that it's tucked off the road! Rafael Lane can be tricky to find. Get in the median right across from Bohemian Bull restaurant. The dirt road is on the left. After turning onto the Lane, take a right at the first drive and come straight back down a gravel drive. There will be a larger house on right with the cottage after.

Landscaping was beautiful, cottage had everything I needed. I was there for a week a few days didn’t leave the place, just enjoying the privacy & the surroundings. I would definitely be back, owner was awesome. You won’t be disappointed if you spend your next vacation there.

A pet-friendly hidden gem!

We loved our stay at Grand Oaks Cottage. The owner, Andy, was so kind and accommodating. Our dogs enjoyed the yard, we loved having bonfires and eating breakfast on the screened porch. The small AC unit worked really well! And the shower has very strong water pressure. We were amazed how accessible the location is to both folly beach and downtown Charleston. Other than the occasional airplane and background traffic sounds, we felt tucked away in our own little paradise!

Calm cottage in a central location

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at this beautiful property. The cottage had everything we needed, plus a large outdoor area to enjoy the nice weather under the beautiful oak trees. It was in a perfect location, close to Folly Beach and nearby family on James Island. We’d definitely visit again!

Fun Labor Day Getaway

Really nice quiet getaway for Labor Day weekend! Easy drive to and from the beach, very private and relaxing atmosphere. Really only complaint was that it got a little hot in the cottage at night, so you may want to bring an extra fan. Super cute place with everything you need!

Perfect Get-Away!

This property far exceeded expectations. The location is 10 mins to downtown, 10 mins to the beach. My fiancé and pups had a quick weekend trip. Location is safe & quiet. The hosts are fantastic and easy to communicate with. Hosts stocked unit with every consideration. Surrounded by mature live oaks sets this unit in a beautiful scenery would absolutely make this our go to vacation home! Very peaceful!

This trip was supposed to just be my husband, the dog, and me. But, ended up bringing the whole family (2 kids ages 11 & 16). Our hosts were flexible with the kid addition and accommodated our large breed dog. The cottage was small. However, it had everything we needed. We all slept comfortably. The AC worked great! The cottage is adorably decorated and has one of the most amazing landscapes. The location is truly prime, super close to the beach and very close to awesome restaurants, downtown Charleston, and great grocery stores. We had a short weekend trip and thoroughly made use of our time. Would love to come back and visit.

5 miles from everything

An absolutely perfect location, literally 5 miles from Folly Beach in one direction, 5 miles from historic downtown Charleston in the other direction. The cottage is clean and well stocked, and situated on a secluded wooded lot. Our only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer!

Cozy cottage, great yard

The cottage is well stocked and comfortable, but the yard is what makes this place so amazing. There is a lovely outdoor bar setup with a tv and fire pit. Unfortunately the owner got upset because of the muddy footprints me and my dog got on the concrete floor of the cabana (it had just been raining for a week and the yard was very muddy), so just be warned even though it is an outdoor structure with a concrete floor, he does not want to see dirty foot prints!

Beautiful house and amazing location

The house is perfect for families with children. Super clean and well equipped. It's very spacious and comfortable for the size and every detail is very well taken care of. It has everything you could need. The bed is comfortable even for people with back problems. The porch and the table outside are really nice. It's very close to Folly Beach, our favorite beach in the world, and downtown Charleston too. Surrounded by trees and silence but with direct access to Folly rd, restaurants, stores and the beach. I absolutely recommend this house. We will be back!

We absolutely loved our stay at the cottage. The host lives on site and greeted us when we got there and gave great recommendations as this was our first time to Charleston. He was always available if needed. Great communication. Great area for dogs to run around. We did not use the outdoor space but the fire pit area and outside bar were nice option. Inside space was spacious and well cared for. Highly recommend and plan to return. The only downside was the entrance road to turn on was tricky to find especially in the dark and with lots of traffic.

Great question! I'ts in the middle of owhere but close to everyting. My vision for Grand Oaks Cottage is for it to not be a place for guests to just sleep but be the destination in itself.
