The location of the property was fantastic; however, we were disappointed that the owner refused to work with us on a partial refund. The central AC did not work, so the owner placed window units in for our stay and told us in person upon arrival that they were not screwed in. During our trip, one of the window units fell out while we were at the lake, fortunately, it did not hit any cars.We also dealt with ants in the kitchen, which we reported to the owner during our stay. We lost a couple hundred dollarsâ worth of groceries when ants got into our food on the first day and again on subsequent days. The ants were able to get into cabinets as well, so our food was a constant concern.After our stay, we reached out to the owner requesting a partial refund but received no response. We then contacted VRBO customer service, who reached out to the owner on our behalf. In response, the owner blamed our children for the AC unit falling out of the window, a claim that is both untrue and shocking. She also blamed the ant issue on our cleanliness, despite the fact that we shared photos and informed her the problem started on day one.While we enjoyed the house itself and its excellent location, we are very disappointed that the owner chose to use our children as an excuse to avoid offering a partial refund or working with us to address these legitimate concerns.
